I haven't seen anyone point this out yet, but at the start of the gauntlet levels / arena levels where you kill a bunch of enemies, the start theme from Mario Bros plays.
Also the world map theme in Castle Bowser is a remix of one of the past final boss battles, I can't remember exactly but I think it's from the Bowser fight in NSMBU
At the start of each room of the KO Arenas the phase start jingle (from phase 2 onward) from Mario Bros also plays
They do have realistic Mario humming the background music but you can’t see him. It is called the “Sound off?” badge.
I was depressed when I first bought this cause I didn't do any research. I had no clue what the game has to offer until my nieces visited and asked for a game. I was surprised with the multiplayer option. I thought it was similar to the previous games where players take turns. I just finished my 1st play-through yesterday that's why I'm here lol
I believe that Bowser's form is partially inspired by Emperor Andross's first form in Star Fox 64!
I liked the game, but I was pretty disappointed that Elephant Mario wasn't just one of many different animals. The game was also was too short.
Talking flowers are the best
Number 5 is just flat out wrong. You can find Coins Galore after being the world. I've stayed above 70 lives since world 3 and have found Coins Galore on every world multiple times.
8:20 We replaced the hallucinogenic mushrooms with a hallucinogenic flower! So now, instead of doing 'shrooms (Psilocybin), people can accuse Mario of being hooked on opioids! Like the opium poppy (papaver somniferum), which Wonder Flowers look suspiciously like.
Well, it fits in more with the "flower" theme....unless this was originally going to be a "part" of Mushroom Kingdom
@@raakone I think it was originally supposed to be Sarasaland, but Miyamoto came in, flipped the table and said "That sounds too much like lore!" So they had to change it to "The Flower Kingdom" just to appease him.

fun fact about the goomba thing is that we HAVE seen Goombas attack in the RPGs. In the Mario & Luigi franchise they bite, but in Paper Mario they are light enough to jump up and headbonk!

Super Mario World Song isn't from one of first levels, but from bonus game that you get when you collect 100 stars form flagpole.

About Toad’s “hat” being part of his head, there’s a mod of this game where when Toad uses the Parachute Cap Badge, he uses that part of his head.

You know, literally the only one I raised an eyebrow at was the fact that the rolly Koopas song was a remix of the Yoshi's island result screen. I knew what it sounded like, I just never realized it. I literally knew everything else, due to the fact that I had 100% the game in a few days.

Dark Mario is first appearance is not actually Mario sort of
The original dark Mario or Shadow appears in Mario sunshine as an alternate form of Bowser Jr. The the theory on how it persist in this game Bowser Junior is using the same mask and it would make sense that the koopalings would and the power of the brush to their arsenal.
I never lost all my lives and the coins galore still appeared, although iirc it happened after I 100%-ed the game.
