@@GSquaredTactical I love the gun. Shoots beautifully. Range 180 gr. Multiple FTF and with 200 gr HST magazines fall out. It’s a damn shame. Sent it back, polished feed ramp. No improvement.

I just bought the M&P 2.0 Performance Center. I haven't fired it yet, but it feels good dry-firing it. My only complaint is the lack of holsters for it (so far). I just ordered a cheap, universal drop-leg, nylon/velcro holster for it, so I have something for now.
If you watch our video on the performance center you’ll see our pure passion of it. Handles recoil like no other 10mm we have ever shot. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already

Yeah the FN is definitely thicker and that’s always been one draw back for me and the brand in general but I still like them a lot lol. 😂 thanks for watching
Great review. Please try some of the actual "bear loads", such as those with 220gr or 200gr hard cast bullets, like from Underwood, Buffalo Bore, etc. Granted, not everyone wants a 10mm for the purpose of defense against dangerous animals, but it's a very significant segment of the audience and also that's where the true 10mm power "lives". And that's where true reliability and suitability to the task is demonstrated. From my research most production 10mm pistols have issues and require some tinkering, like stronger recoil spring assembly, to effectively handle the true 10mm loads. I am even starting to think that manufacturers do this intentionally. The guns are configured to work well with the "off the shelf" 10mm rounds, which are maybe like 40S&W +P (not a real thing), if that, just in a 10mm case. And they probably figure that those with a wilderness purpose will test and tinker until they get what they want. I got my M&P10 new for a great price, so I was willing to tinker. I am not done, but I get much better results with the stronger RSA and stronger/better magazine springs. There is a certain design flaw on the M&P10 magazines - the mag catch windows (holes) are cut too close to the forcing rib (which makes the double stack column converge into the single stack nearer the barrel). This is not an issue on M&P45, 40 or 9. This means that thicker (wide meplat) bullets can actually cause the mag to fall out under recoil. The stronger RSA also means better perceived recoil and the gun is not beat up as much (needlessly). It's a shame, too. They should all purpose-build these for true 10mm power.
I completely understand what you were saying. Every single time that we do a video on a 10 mm pistol people come out of the woodwork telling us about the sissy rounds that we are shooting through it and how underpowered they are and how that we need to shoot some buffalo/bear/alligator loads lol but the ammo that we put through this comes out of our own pockets and we have to be frugal with what we shoot and let’s face it 95% of the people buying a 10 mm pistol are not buying it for reasons of hunting bear or because they are in bear country they are simply doing it because it’s the “” hot New thing to do. Also, you can’t get 10 mm ammo that is of the original ballistics when it was designed it’s just not available unless you are loading it yourself or know someone. I feel like the gun manufacturer was in on that because guns kept breaking apart and breaking frames with the original 10 mm cartridge thanks for watching and for commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you have not already
@@GSquaredTactical FWIW, I had no intention of implying "sissy" rounds :) I see nothing wrong with 9mm or 40S&W for conventional use. And these standard 10mm loadings would be more than adequate there. I am not some macho and don't have anything to prove, more of a nerd, really. In fact, the reason M&P10 specifically drops magazines (a common occurrence) is not the power of the bear loads, but rather the magazine geometry (a design flaw) and the bullet shape (a deliberate feature of dangerous animal handgun bullets). I understand what you mean and did not intend my comment as a criticism, but rather as a data point. I'm not sure if Underwood and Buffalo Bore offerings match the original 10mm specs, but I am pretty sure they are "full power" of what's allowed by SAAMI as compared to the mainstream loads. Thank you for responding.
@languagesource355 yes they are “full power” but SAAMI lowered their standards from the original and I believe it was because gun frames was splitting even on 1911’s. Thanks for watching
@@GSquaredTactical thank you, yes, I kept reading the comments and gleaned some more info on that. Cool stuff. Seems that similar thing happened with 357Mag.
I went to some standard sights on my Smith and it is quickly becoming my fav, you cant miss with the smith and Can't beat the size for a 10mm carrying appendix , it's just as comfortable as a G19 and damn near the same size . The FN isn't as comfortable (appendix )the size difference it's definitely noticeable the FN longer , taller and thicker . It's actually bigger then a G20 .

This channel rocks. I’ve watched many reviews and trust the information on here. That being said, I have a 1911 in 10mm which I love and have been looking for something a tad smaller and lighter for IWB carry. I’m trying to like the S & W 4” but, several channels that I watch are seriously hating on it for reliability and now this video hating on the trigger. Certainly no expert at all, just wondering if you guys think it’s worth it at all? Thanks, guys.
The M&P 2.0 10mm and 10mm PC is two of the only S&W polymers that I have ever kept I absolutely love them and have had zero issues with either one of them. With that being said the lightest shooting, most accurate, best handling, best overall feel in the hand and the most concealable would have to be the Sig Sauer Xten Compact Comp. Check out our video on that one. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment and please be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
I have the S&W full length model and the Sig X 10. I changed the sights on the S&W to standard height fiber optic front and serrated blacked out rear sight. It shoots well! The X Ten is really nice too, better trigger and grip and it has the X-ray night sights included. For the money the S&W is a great entry into the caliber. I hate snappy pistols, but that is forgotten when shooting 10mm! It is supposed to kick! Right??😝
I recently purchased the Smith & Wesson 10 mm had nothing but problems had to get a springer precision 24 pound guide rod, spring and stronger magazine springs I would’ve considered the FN but it’s way more money
That is genuinely wild because we had two of the standard models and two of the PC models and all of them were absolute dreams to shoot and wildly reliable like literally not a single issue at all. I would have just sent it back to Smith before I would have changed any parts. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
@@GSquaredTactical I thought I saw that you guys had issues with yours also, but that must’ve been Chooks outdoors and some others. I actually called Smith & Wesson a few times and they’re still supposed to be sending me the parts to fix it, but I got sick of waiting.
Yeah, I heard that I bought a $1500 Colt python and would not function even one single round as it seized up first time I pulled the hammer back. I did not want to bother sending my beautiful $1500 revolver back so I just had a local gunsmith to fix it for $35. I love both of them & honesty prefer how the M&P feels in hand if I’m remembering correctly… The only reasons I shoot the 500 series over the M&Ps are because I’m LH and love optics lol M&Ps slide release on the right side is absolutely useless & their OEM optics cut is straight trash. Everything else is pretty amazing though, the finish is DEFINITELY better than FNs.
I have a M&P 40c so it was a no brainer to get the FN 510..Had a 5.7 and I love FN, don’t get me wrong I love my Smith but FN took the win when it came to my 10mm
I have always been intrigued by them, but I do not buy guns online strictly support, local brick and mortar stores and I’ve only ever seen one one time in one of my brick and mortar but I will definitely put them on my list. Thanks for watching and for commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Had the M&P10mm 4.6. Still have the FN 510 Tac. It’s not even close imo. The M&P10 just ain’t it. The mags seem to be low quality, feed lips seem weird as it’s 45 mag bent for 10mm. I remember reading into springs since I couldn’t get through a single mag without a malfunction and I found a post about Wolff gun springs saying the springs were terrible quality and degraded almost instantly. Didn’t like the overly aggressive grip texture when shooting underwood ammo. Just painful. The gun is lighter which is a major con imo when shooting full power loads. The FN has a better trigger, better sights, better grip, better reliability, better Optics mounting design, better quality and better recoil management. The M&P just doesn’t do anything better other than it’s cheaper imo. The Sig XTen seems like it would’ve been amazing but reliability due to mag design ruins it.
We’ve had zero issues after over 1200 with the M$P. Also we’ve had no issue with the FN. At that point it becomes about personal preference. I prefer the Sig X-Ten Compact Comp over both and I’ve had no mag issues with that one either. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already

I had a S&W, unreliable! I had a X 10, unreliable! I have a P220 Legion, way too heavy for EDC. Block works but I don't like the ones that I have. I'm waiting for a 510 without an optics cut and normal height sights. I'm not going to pay for MRD that I don't want and won't use only to have to spend $100 to put Tritium sights on it.
Why doesn't the FN 510 have a fully supported barrel ? For the high cost of the 510 it should be completely loaded with a fully supported barrel. Why would these gun makers Sell these guns with a terrible trigger? Not impressed!!!!
I guess to save on cost. Normally you find those features in more expensive guns and the cheaper ones that have that feature lack in other areas. But I see your point
It is a trade off for feeding reliability. Last thing one would want is a stove pipe or ftf issue if defending oneself from a bear. I have no issues with mine firing full 220 grain hard cast Underwood loads. It is a trade off that i will take 8 days a week as I live in griz country.
By the way, the trigger on my 510 T is very good. Try one for yourself and don't rely on just what someone said on the internet. Is it as good as a 2stage hammer fired trigger? No, I don't know of 1 striker fired that is.
Oh wait that would take all the fun out of trolling other peoples channels to make you feel better. Do you need a hug? I know your a big manly man with strong wrist, and even stronger thumbs from trolling that keyboard behind a screen but maybe a hug would do you good 😂😂😂
Then you are being bias 😂. In fact the Dan Wesson Kodiak is the best 10mm but if you limit it to polys then the Sig Sauer Xten compact comp is better, but that’s my opinion which means little to other people’s opinions or preferences as yours means little to me. Have a great day and be safe pal
That I can certainly do sir and I appreciate you agreeing to disagree as most people get offended and simply disagree in most cases with name calling and the like.
The funny thing is I don’t recall having any stove pipes shooting the 10mm just the .40 S&W in the 2.0 which happens sometimes when shooting .40 cal through a 10mm. You would have know that if you cared to watch and listen but all you saw was a stove pipe and it didn’t matter why just like all the other keyboard pirate troll you saw it as opportunity to attack from behind a screen to make you feel like a bad man and make up for your lack thereof. Peace out ✌️ Glock fan boy
My 29 stove piped with underwood and BB hot 180gr. I swapped in stiffer spring kit, resolved the issue altogether. Added a threaded match barrel. My 29 is incredibly accurate functions flawlessly. I bet the M&P needs different springs for the hot stuff. It’s a great gun.
Large animal defense. Bears, bears, bears. I suppose there has to be some reason to buy large caliber handguns, doesn't there. (Besides the fact that they're, well, larger.) Just to put it into perspective for all of you guys who think you need to carry around a large caliber pistol, there are over 200 people hit by lightning in the United States every year, but less than 10 bear attacks, so stay indoors if you see dark clouds. Just saying.
Your personal opinion means nothing to us that live in griz country. There are those that don't live a city slicker flatlander life. To each their own.

It’s a decent 10 for sure! Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already
The FN is sexy, but I went with the Smith & Wesson, I have plenty 10mm pistols, next is the Sig P320 10mm,
Love the Xten comp compact. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
If you are a CZ fan, you need to check out the tanfoglio 10 ml. pistols.
I have always been intrigued by them, but I do not buy guns online strictly support, local brick and mortar stores and I’ve only ever seen one one time in one of my brick and mortar but I will definitely put them on my list.
I'll stick with m&p can't afford fn 510 never had a problem with any of my m&p in past
You can buy the FN510 right now with holosun for $849 and $125 rebate from FN making it about $650.
@@GSquaredTactical that's not bad
No sir!!
Both are great
Agreed!! Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
What is performance center? New to pistols and in the market for 10 mm.
Basically the same gun just a few bells and whistles mostly just slightly longer slide with comped barrel and slide
Traded my FN because that booty's 2 big to grip in fight.. Performance Center on the way 😅!!

I love the FN, but i wish it had a manual safety.
Or at least an option for one for those who’d like it. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Is the Performance Center M&P 2.0 10mm trigger horrible?
It’s the same trigger so it isn’t great but does get a little better with shooting. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I like both of them looks wise. I have a smith Wesson with 4 inch barrrel the trigger is incredible. I bought a 4.6 and trigger not so much lol. Glock 40 I like my Glock 20 is ok . I might get an fn and give it a try
I like my FN’s. Not my favorite guns but I do like them
how is your smith 4 inch 10mm? mine failed to feed on every mag for the first 150 rounds but has been fine for the past 150
@hankhilll4651 shockingly has never had a single failure. It’s been one of my favorite 10mm’s. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@@hankhilll4651 mine is flawless on eating all ammo so far but I only have around 500 rounds in it
Nice video. First time here. Thought I heard some tar-heel accent and see you guys are based in Charlotte? Good stuff!
Yes sir hey thanks for watching and we hope you have subscribed
I have both Fn 510 tactical and S&W performance center 10mm and there is no match for FN
With those 2 as choices I would pick the FN but would pick the Sig P320 Xten compact comp over both. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Yes, akimbo mode enabled.

Nice malfunction on the Smith at the end of the intro. 😂
That was a sweet stove pipe wasn’t it? Lol. Thanks for watching
That was shooting 40 ammo tho not 10mm loads
Yeah that’s true I didn’t dog the just seeing how it would shoot 40 in a pinch. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Looks like more muzzle flip with the FN.
For sure!! Thanks for watching and for commenting be sure to subscribe if you have not already
Is the shield plus trigger similar to the s&w 10mm?
Similar sure but not the same. Thanks for watching
FN makes the best guns no matter the military service SCAR or its pistol lines.
They are a quality piece for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Were you using "full load" 10mm rounds in this video?
Yes
Not really. S&B are not "full 10mm loads", Underwood, Buffalo Bore, and a few others are. S&B are what a +p 40 S&W would be.
@baddad3469 ok
The FN tactical has better iron sights. So if their comments on accuracy with respect to the iron sights is making you lean to the S&W, try the FN tactical.
We tried that one time with an optic and shot lights out lol, but that might have been attributed to the optic… thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already
Im more of which one can handle all loads you feed it best from lightest to heaviest and not have no hiccups
I think they both could handle that task. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
The FN looked more accurate to me. Then the second guy the smith looked more accurate.
They both are genuinely great firearms. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
FNH does not recommend 40cal thru the 10mm. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

If it’s the same caliber and same muzzle length ,,,, it should be performing the same
Looks grips sights everything else is just aesthetic
The FN is heavier and controls recoil slightly better. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@@GSquaredTactical
I used to own FNX 45 ,,, for some reason the frame was elastic JUST LIKE HOLDING A RUBBER in your hand, if you just slightly squeezed your wrist the magazine releases wouldn’t do anything magazine wouldn’t come out,, and when you took it out if you squeezed the frame again you could pretty much touch both sides of magazine walls 😂
Honestly all these overpriced handguns I only see the future in CANIK, CANIK METE SFT PRO is only $600 best handgun for the money

$799 for FN 510 MRD not the 510 tact
I paid $799 plus tax at Blackstone Shooting Sports in Charlotte NC they still have it for that price.
FN510 performance surpasses the M&P.
It’s close for me but I could be influenced to agree lol

Own the m&p, tried the 510...Glock 20 wins
Hey hey I like the G20 as well lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
You know with the FN costing 900-1000 dollars you’d think the trigger would be a good not even great just good.. and the fact that it’s that bad is just total BS…
That’s the truth and the one thing that’s kept me from becoming a huge FN fan. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Idk how anyone could say it’s bad. My 510 Tac trigger is better than my VP9sk trigger. Lighter, crisper and far better reset. The M&Ps was useable. Nothing more.
@HardcoreAmericanUSA everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I could be ask how anyone could think it’s good. Thanks for watching
My 510 trigger is very good. Much better than my buddy's Glocks and S&Ws... did I get lucky?
@baddad3469 lol well I don’t know. I do know that the triggers on FN’s tend to get much better with use. Thanks for watching and for commenting and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
Tells you it functions as it malfunctions, no edit.
Kids dont run forty in your ten it doesnt seat, hella hard on your extractor, and is just an all around stupid thing to do , outside of clown tests for kicks and giggles.
Nuff said
👍🏻
I had a S&W, unreliable! I had a X 10, unreliable! I have a P220 Legion, way too heavy for EDC. Block works but I don't like the ones that I have. I'm waiting for a 510 without an optics cut and normal height sights. I'm not going to pay for MRD that I don't want and won't use only to have to spend $100 to put Tritium sights on it.
Hopefully your X10 will be good! I hope you find the 10 that fits perfect for you Bob, thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already
Complaining about reliability when using the wrong ammo. Wow. That's a first.

Why would anyone buy a M&P with a thumb safety? Rookie.
Troll move on and pester someone else because literally no one cares. Start your own UA-cam channel and show us how it’s done
Oh wait that would take all the fun out of trolling other peoples channels to make you feel better. Do you need a hug? I know your a big manly man with strong wrist, and even stronger thumbs from trolling that keyboard behind a screen but maybe a hug would do you good 😂😂😂
If you cant figure that out, nobody can help you.

Bias review, the FN 510 is the best 10mm you can buy hands down!!!!
@@GSquaredTactical we will agree to disagree😂🤣
That I can certainly do sir and I appreciate you agreeing to disagree as most people get offended and simply disagree in most cases with name calling and the like.
@@GSquaredTactical we are truly brothers who just love guns😉
@ryarbrough1000 that’s true
My Glock 29 doesn't even jump that bad. You must have weak wrists. That's why you have stovepipe issues. WEAK WRISTS.
Yeah must be 🙄 troll on my friend

Video is miss leading and a waste of time! I clicked on this video to see the smith vs fn 10mm and wasted 10 min of my life that I will never get back! Change the name of the title to let’s see if we can go against factory recommendation and shoot a 40 cal out of a 10mm!
Ok
