Congrats on completing the trial, that is a tough challenge! Can't wait to see more development on these bikes. Swapping batteries is not ideal, given the $4KUS cost of a spare battery.
i do wonder why more oems dont simply open source the battery design. they would encourage more people to buy their bikes by letting the army of chinese manufacturers pump out accessories much like they do for surron. they'd sell way more bikes because people know there isnt a battery tax waiting for them as the batteries degrade or if you need a couple spares. lithium battery costs are crashing and continue to get cheaper.
@fprintf thanks for your comment, the Scott trial is a complete anomaly with the distance covered and speed element requiring the 8 petrol stops. In a normal club trial you will finish the trial with anything from 45%-85% remaining on the battery, often customers are competing in 2 or 3 days of trials on one charge... for those longer national trials (that only the top 15% of trials riders compete in) we do offer a hire service for a spare battery of £50/day. Out of all motorsports, trials is the perfect fit for electric power due to the slow speed, that gives the riding time of 4.5-7 hours on the new 2025 EM Epure Race/FACTOR-e 2.5kWh, so the rider is normally flat before the battery is :) Please give us a call if you require any more info... 01200 448130. Many Thanks
Fantastic achievement of all involved, I was wondering, a hypothetical situation, if a privateer clubman were to take an EM to the SSDT, what kind of arrangement could be made regarding batteries, you mention hiring in one of your replies. Great achievement, great report.
Hi there, the frame rate for interviews was set to 25 FPS with shutter speed double that as standard. The reason for the flickering is to do with the knock-off battery we had to use when the main ran out. Cheers! 😉
@@TrialTube It doesnt have anything to do with the battery but with the shutter speed, Double the shutter speed from frame rate is good but sometimes you need to do minor adjustments with the shutter to get rid of it.
Hi guys, thanks for your messages. Although shutter speed will of course affect flickering if not set to at least double your frame rate, batteries can also affect it. It is to do with the current required to keep filming for long periods of time, none-official batteries can become overheated and can cause flickering, regardless of your shutter speed. I hope this helps clear it up!
so do do the event you simply need around £15k of batteries and a full on support crew rather than a few 5 quid fuel cans and 15quid of petrol. isn't progress great 🤣🤣
@b45her thanks for your comment ... have you ridden the Scott trial before? It's a complete anomaly with the distance covered and speed element requiring the 8 petrol stops. In a normal club trial you will finish the trial with anything from 45%-85% remaining on the battery, often customers are competing in 2 or 3 days of trials on one charge... by all means if you want to enter the Scott Trial 2025 we will be able to supply a hire of the batteries for the day at the cost of £50 (a normal service for the longer national trials if a spare battery is needed). Please give us a call if you require any more info... 01200 448130. Many Thanks
Superstar Chris! Great job sir.
Absolutely top bloke is Chris Pearson. Was just talking to him yesterday about EMs. It's on my next bike list, that's for sure.
Excellent video congratulations making history🤘🤘🤘🤘
I’m 2 minutes in and it’s already a cracking video

Thanks so much! Yeah of course. Please give us a call to find out more!
Awesome. I’m a petrol guy but have to say, despite memories of Rathmell, Lampkin, Mick Andrews, Rob Shepherd, etc… fair play.. congrats
Good video, try to get rid of the waveforms by adjusting the frame rate in the interview portion next time. Good effort.

@ thought you lot wouldn’t entertain a knock off battery 😉

So how much would it cost to purchase a spare battery?
This was like the most depressing video I’ve ever seen. Just the way Brits like it!

You can fit 15 quid of juice in two fuel cans
That sounds like a reasonable hire cost.
