I use to ride classic trials as a teenager on a 1972 Ossa and after 15 years away from the sport i bought a 2020 DL12 for the right money off a mate and god what a machine! yes if you don’t know they can be tricky to start but like you mentioned Dan once you know they are no different to any other bike!
Correct it’s the only way!! I only made this very condescending video lesson portion of this video because I honestly feel it’s not the bike that is the issue…
@ honestly the Vertigo’s are fine, the owners who moan need to own a 2004 Husaberg 450 enduro bike i use to own back in the day, that had a right weird starting procedure! 4 kicks with the decompression lever in fuel on, 8 twists of full throttle (it had an accelerator pump in the carb) and hope and prey it fired up in the first 2 kicks!

Another excellent and humorous review. No question, it is a spectacular looking bike, but for $11K+ American dollars, it should be. One can buy a lot of gas for the van, and pay a boatload of entry fees, and still have $ to buy the wife a nice dinner to break the news that you just ordered a new Beta or GasGas with the money saved. But, you won’t have money left to pay your attorney.
@@mikemcnevin1785 that’s all very true and it’s a hard game to play for sure. I agree the juice has to be worth the squeeze. But I would say that they are a good bike to have atleast once…losing money isn’t funny and I lost a fair chunk last time around the vertigo hill…
I've just started and got my bike today and I really can't manhandle it like you guys. I definitely need to get back to the gym and get on one of the beginners days at inch perfect if they do them there. It really is hard work for a beginner that's 55 and lost 20 stone over the last 2 years. I've obviously lost a lot of muscle with that and on top of that my balance is really bad, and that's before the seizure I had 😂😂😂 At least I'm ok and retired so I'll have plenty of time to improve my balance at least 👍👍👍

Nothing wrong with that starting, but the same can be applied to a Gasser. I see so many struggling but mine, my sons and my daughters gasser starts first kick from cold, it's just a method. Beautiful looking bike all the same.👌
What would be the best Vertigo trials bike for an enduro rider transitioning to trials-200cc, 250cc, or 300cc-considering I’m used to a 300cc two-stroke enduro bike but new to trials? Big fan of the channel!

Had my 23 titanium updated by camio so it uses the new link wire TPS reset feature along with the latest map. Starts 2nd to 3rd kick cold and 1st kick hot now. Everytime. No throttle. Simples. And yes it's the owners not the bikes.
Where is the price, versus what you get, a decent bike cut off point. In other words, can you get a big drop by going back 4 years, and still get something that's almost as good as today's, or is every single year a big huge jump from the next, and so just shut up, and buy a new bike, even though you can't afford it. 😂 I'm 74, I was 28 years old in 1978, and I was one event away from being expert when I stopped riding to raise kids. I still think about it, and if I could find something for a 1/2 way decent price, then I might try again. Hopefully, it would handle almost as good as the good stuff. I would probably be happy, and it probably wouldn't make too much difference with me being 74 and all. I am still fairly fit. I had a 78 Bultaco Sherpa T. It was very nice. But it did weigh 230 pounds.
You could most certainly find a very good secondhand bike at a price way, way below that of a new one, which would not cost you a single mark more in any trial you'd be riding.

@@TrialTube C'est exact. la GASGAS 2024 est incroyable, ultra-esthétique, et facile en 250cc, moins en 300cc plutôt pour des gens avec un bon niveau en trial. Et enfin les démarreurs électriques arrivent en Trial ;) enfin....

When I first brought my'23 250 DLR home, my wife asked what the strange noise was. I told her it was the electric turbocharger.
