    They have an animal shelter. Wow, that is awesome! Spay, newter, adopt...that will save a lot of animals. We have adopted two chihuahuas in the past. My daughter who got married last Oct. 2021, don't have children yet...they just adopted a dog. I love the fresh produce...mais! Great food! Chicken tamales, it's entirely different from the authentic Mexican tamales as you described it. It is good to hear you speak Bisaya/Cebuano. Hahaha...peace and quiet.😂😂❤

      @@VanandJoe Our first chihuahua was named Chalupa (Mexican food from Taco Bell ☺️), we just kept the name she already had. The 2d one, we named him Rocky. He was about 8 months when we adopted him, picked up from the dump). We had him for 14 years...such a sweet soul. We were all sad when he got sick and died. My daughter named her dog Maddie. She is slim, tall and loves to cuddle and play. They are training her, hard to keep up, loves to run in the garden and jump over my potted plants. 😁 She's just a puppy. They always take her to dog parks. Very friendly, was not even barking when they adopted her from the shelter. Now she barks. Her breed is a mix of Belgian Shepherd/Malinois. It's great that you got a buddy for your chihuahua. They're happy and you are happy, too.

      @@VanandJoe Thank u too. About d open markets in Malaysia, it's like a culture with d locals. D Ramadan baazars came back to life this year around March to April, after being absent for 3 years of lockdown. D most popular night open markets in KL r d longest in Taman Connaught housing area, Cheras n d one in d middle of KL on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, n there r few around d city, n many housing areas have their own pasar malam, d night open markets. D ones u visited in Petaling Street Chinatown n on Jalan Alor r more touristy. And, if I'm not mistaken, d night open market on Jonker Street, Melaka, is one of d most expensive coz sometimes, people take advantage of d tourists. But there r places that u could find reasonable priced food like a RM1 nasi lemak bungkus in smaller town or village like in Langkawi, but that was many years ago. A decade ago, I can easily buy a RM1 nasi lemak bungkus in front of my apt which is in d city area. Now, a nasi lemak bungkus (bungkus is parcel or packed) by d street cost around RM3. 😄

    Since your father is a foreigner, is it very important to people like yourself to get a half foreigner girlfriend? I mean you would not want to be with a morena pinoy girl there right as that would not be making the best of your half foreigner status?

    • @VanandJoe
      @VanandJoe  10 місяців тому

      Not really. I might be half looking but I am pinoy. I grew up here and love this country so much. Morenas have their own unique beauty just like all women. However, I met Van and fell head over heels for her. I admit, she in in fact half and her beauty caught my attention but that is just the tip of the iceberg. I have a lot of friends who are half and they are dating/married to Filipinas.

    • @VanandJoe
      @VanandJoe  10 місяців тому

      Also, I might be taking your message the wrong way so please correct me if I’m wrong. But I don’t really like the term “ Half Foreigner Status” . That makes me feel like foreigners should have status or special treatment here in The Philippines. You can watch my story and listen to how I grew up. There you will hear my take on this issue. I didn’t like to be treated differently from other filipino kids.

    • @jl909-nr5vx
      @jl909-nr5vx 10 місяців тому +1

      You are more than "might be half looking" in reality you are half genetically non Pinoy...your father is genetically European...White...non pinoy. So you can emotionally identify as "pure pinoy" as they say there but you will always be factually 1/2 pinoy, and 1/2 European biologically, DNA reality. Spiritually I suppose you are free to identify as you wish...and in today's world of 2 spirit, transexual, bisexual, pan sexual etc etc ...people are free to see themselves as they wish...even to identify as a unicorn ...or a smurf for that matter, if that makes them happy. @@VanandJoe

      @jl909-nr5vx 10 місяців тому +1

      I have watched a few of your videos, but do not have the time to carefully study all of the different thousands of UA-cam channels relating to the Philippines. Everyone has an opinion. Instead I have tried to gather as many facts and arrive at a general consensus so as to better understand the people and overall culture of Phils. From what I have gathered though much learning, The "half foreigner" kids there are minor celebrities and are "special"(often held in higher regard due to theor physical features)...from what I have been told by hundreds of pinay (500+). I know that everyone has their own opinion. I try and focus on the larger reality as opposed to the minority opinion. I know the largely "general" opinion there..i.e 95%+ and how they see the situation. I can also say that from years of following expat channels, white foreigners speak often of their feeling like rock stars as a result of being white in Phils (their opinions and experiences, not mine). It's deeply ingrained in your culture there...dating back to the Spanish 300+ years ago....skin color and class.@@VanandJoe
