Changing the variation background should be in this selector: table tbody tr:hover>td, table tbody tr:hover>th {}
Thus:

Thanks for the video. I do have 2 issues though, one is that the title background remains grey on both standard and hover AND when I create a variable product, my shop thumbnail has "select options" and not "add to cart" anymore.

I think if there is a sizechart it would be great addition to the product. It will reduce the returns of the product and the buyers would know the precise measurments for every size.
