I bought one and dealing with Yotobike on the damaged bike has been a nightmare. I have owned it for two weeks and haven't been able to ride it. I'm waiting for parts from China and Yotobike is silent about how it will be fixed under warranty. I wouldn't recommend Yotobike to anyone.
Sorry to hear you got your bike damaged. I think if you got your bike damaged by carrier that's not Yoto's fault and its not usually covered under warranty. I am not sure if they started to offer insurance but many bike companies offer the insurance with purchase to buy to protect against of shipping damages. Good that they taking care of you and sending you the part but it might take anywhere from 7 -60 days vary on part you need to replace. I think they sent me the display very quickly within 7 days it was in California .
@askdad Not true. If it's damaged in shipping, it's on the seller. I could file a claim with PayPal, but I just wanted a working bike, not a refund. It's a beautiful bike, but the customer service sucks big time. After seeing that my derailleur hadn't left China, I broke down and bought a better derailleur (no plastic) and installed it myself. People should know all these budget ebikes are the same parts on different frames. The thing that sets them apart is customer service, and Yotobike gets one star.
You need to check their terms, but most bikes company are not responsible for damages cause due to shipping carrier. I know most companies will still try to make it right and send parts . As you said, they were going to send you the part, but you were inpatient. I am sure if they said you will receive it but not right away as parts ussualy shipped from China. Derailleur is not expensive, and that's correct, and yes, that's a good part that you can buy most parts on amazon to replace the difference. You saved hundreds of dollars vs. other brand, so be happy!
I checked their website, and they do cover under warranty damaged parts even due to shipping. So I don't see any issue but delay is normal with most brands . It's vary on the season and parts. I got few parts from them within 7-10days once shipped out of China. All the parts can be can be easily replaced at bike shop or by your self. I don't know if they would pay for labor as reimbursement, but you can check with Yoto bikes. Some companies reimburse, and some don't. Most companies don't pay for labor. I think only Aventon and few other cover for 1 year labor. I am natural here regardless if I get paid thru affiliate, but I shared with you my experience and knowledge for past years taking to many ebike companies and consumers feedback, fb groups, etc. I think you get pretty good deal with their bikes and if damage happens, that's fixable but might take time. I saw many bikes get damages from many states .
