I think Polish can be difficult for English speaking people. But it will be easy for people from Slavic countries (or for people who just know one of the Slavic languages). I think it's the similarity to your mother tongue that matters the most when you think about the difficulty of some foreign language. Anyway, great video!
I'm an American with German and Polish ancestry and I just started learning Polish. It's a beautiful language! I can't wait to visit Poland--I've never been there and it looks like such an amazing country :-) Plus, being from Wisconsin, the cold winters are appealing to me.
Enjoying the videos. I married a Polish girl and I would say my learning has been spotty. Although many Polish people are polite and compliment me, I think it is important I invest now in diving into the deeper level of intentional learning of proper grammar. We have a daughter who we have raised fully bilingual and I would also like her to witness my efforts
Great video, thanks Ryan. I'm English and I've been learning Polish for about 18 months now, so quite some way behind you. However, I can certainly identify with all the stages you talked about. Thanks for the motivation!

Cześć z Indonezja! Mam na imię feisal, jestem indonezjyczykiem i mówię troche po polsku, nadal się uczę hehe... (Sorry i have to switch to English) In my country, there is Polish course program that conducted by the Polish Embassy and it's free of charge. What makes me interest with Poland when my friend told the story of WW2 and recommend me the movie "The Pianist", it got me think "Why people never talk about Poland since this country was the victim here. They need to be recognize." Since then, i've become more interest with it even (sorry for being religious), i had pray and wish that i can learn the language and have friends. Unfortunately, there was not much informations about it untill i've found it through social media. Since then, i was being active untill i've found the course program and you know what? My pray has been answered and beyond than i expected. My teacher (Pani Natalia) always invites us to the event that held by the Embassy and widespread my relations with the community. Now, i have great classmates whose have same interest with an amazing backgrounds, some of them married with the Poles for example. Not only that, learning Polish gives me an opportunity like this year, i had a chance to be volunteer for the Embassy at the cultural event and the best one was when i was invited by the Embassy for attend the reception of Poland Independence Day, it was such the best day of my life. Last but not least, it gives me an opportunity to meet many Poles who live here and like you, i was tried to approach them althought i was shy and their reactions were surprised althought i speak with my broken Polish 😂 but they appreciate it and happy to know it. I was had to give up before due to difficultness of the language, a lot of forms that so far away with mine and yes the culture, rules, etc but what you said is same as my teacher said. Somehow, it got me thinking earlier before i've found the course like "This is what i want from the beginning, i have to keep it up" and it still continue today. It might be not so popular as the other language, but to me this language has been such a miracle and i couldn't be more grateful for that 🇮🇩🤍❤️🇵🇱
May I ask (and perhaps or most probably you have clarified),, why no one in your family never spoke with you in Polish in the U.S? I feel the pain in your heart that I just want to hug and embrace. A loss and emptiness you believe you need to fulfill. I'm sharing this with love and understanding. I'm grabbed by your tone of voice and use of language. There's much I want to share about culture, heritage, language, history etc ,,it's excitingly and seemingly an overwhelmingly complex topic or subject intertwined in a woven web of deep seated conceptual and emotional psychological and spiritual belief patterns. We, who are of first and second generation European backgrounds and i.e.- not being of Anglo Saxon or Hiberno backgrounds and born in the new world would most definitely have experienced some form of prejudice ,displacement, anguish, confusion etc especially if we were brought up with another language at home other than English. In adulthood and in hindsight we are always appreciative and proud of whatever background, culture and linguistic abilities we have attained. There comes a time in our lives when we yearn for the experience of the old country of origin, the ties and the bond pulling us towards it. New world travels back to the heart and blood of old world. There's more to share, yet it's all known and familiar. There's nothing new here. My close Polish friend immigrated here to Australia with little or no English 15 years ago. It's a reversal of your good self. He's given his utmost to integrate to so called Australian life and become as called Australian as possible. Notice I said "so called"? Swedish was my first language till the age of five. Then entering the dominant Anglicised educational system, Swedish became my second language and English my first. This was the same for all of us in the new world no matter which culture and linguistic heritage we hailed from in the old one. May I Continue next week? Love your presence Ryan .Thank you for giving and being ❤️.
