This brings back a lot of great memories. What a great show the Young Ones was at the time🤣🤣🤣
Rick, (played by Rick Mayall) in the show was a devotee to Cliff Richard. That's where the collaboration came from
THAT is SOOO COOL!!! It is REALLY fun. And Cliff... sings this song SO WELL... as he does! :) I had forgotten this was his original song... so that makes good sense! :)
So glad you gave Cliff another try. Hopefully this video won't get removed like the last one was. Cliff has such a great sense of humor, even at his own expense. "Living Doll" was Cliff's first #1 in 1959, and this charity remake also hit #1 in 1986. That's the original guitarist Hank Marvin of The Shadows who's revealed in the video.
Rik the proples poet, Vivian the punk. Neil the hippie and Mike the cool one. The young ones was the best tv show of the eighties and completely ridiculous. Four university students sharing a flat I think you can find all episodes on youtube
OK!!! THANK YOU!!!! Sounds fun!!
Produced for comic relief in the UK. Made millions in sales for various causes.
As you saw the Young ones is a totally anarchic style of comedy. The basis is they are uni students in a share house - and so, chaos ensues think Monty python on acid
AHHH... interesting! I hadn't heard of them until Cliff's song on Dr. Demento. I have to add checking them out to my list. Thanks for the description and preparation! :)
"Look out! Cliff!"
NO KIDDING!!
Does anyone know if they tried to get Cliff Richard to appear in The Young Ones as the performer of the episode? I remember they had some surprising guest bands on like Madness (twice), Dexys Midnight Runners and Motörhead.
The Young Ones will blow your mind.... fyi, the guitar player with the specs is none other than Hank Marvin....
Seriously? 'The Young Ones' - It's like saying you've never heard of 'Fawlty Towers'... Or haven't you??????
YES!! I have watched Fawlty Towers, Monty Pythons, Good neighbors and many others!! SORRY! I can only find what the TV station provided to us... well, now I can do a lot more... go interwebs!. :) Feel free to put a favorite episode as a NEW comment... so I don't miss it. Sometimes the replies get lost... and that TOTALLY annoys me!
