@@wolftone6 Just because you don't like England doesn't mean we weren't robbed you can say both sides were robbed. Maradona's goal was a blatant handball and that handball was the deciding factor of the game therefore we were robbed due to an awful refereeing decision.
The USSR team of 1986 made me fall in love with them as a young lad. They played a style of football I had never seen before. The players were real athletes who could shoot from anywhere. I was GUTTED when they lost to Belgium so unfairly. Then 2 years later, they had a real chance but blew it in the Euro final against Holland. 1990 was, I think a step too far for them. Despite having players still in their prime, I think the belief was ebbing away. They had even dropped their famous CCCP shirts for some reason. Belanov was omitted from the squad and a few of the newer players were below par. They truly are one of the greatest teams to have never won a major tournament.
The mighty Magyars are by far the best team to never win a major trophy and also the ussr won the first ever European championship great team they had in the 80s though must of been a pleasure to watch

In 1990 the USSR was handed a tough draw. Argentina Romania and Cameroon had tough teams, put them in a weaker group they probably advance.

Yes, great Russian players from Moscow Lev Yashine, Igor Netto, Eduard Streltsov won Euro, Olympic golden medal, 1/2 Word Cup. and in this video ukranian players won nothing, they are not great. and now Russian soccer club win 2 UEFA cups, one Supercup of UEFA and Russia team play every Euro and Word cup tourneers. ukrianain club win 1 UEFA cup and the national team sucks everytime.

Kuznetsov was the Dynamo Kyiv player, originally from Chernihiv, Ukraine. Cherchesov played only for Russia at WM94, Uvarov for USSR at WM90, and yes they are from Russia both

Shouldn't have needed it. The referee was looking directly at it from about 2-3 metres away. But we're talking about a country that's achieved almost nothing without some form of cheating, dishonety, etc, so what do you expect?
@@guillezorro so you are saying the ref saw it no doubt and ignored the blatant handball. I get it. But with VAR he would have been called over and had no choice at that point to reverse the goal.

Our golden generation is right now. We can achieve the best result as Independent nation ever at Euro 2020. Minimum aim is 1/4 final BUT 1/2 final is possible.

It's all thanks to Ukrainian people that there were so many sports and military achievements/inventions during Soviet Union era. People commonly refer to Russia as Soviets... Ukraine made Soviet union great and so advanced (even during ww2 Ukrainian squads were the once to push through German lines and take Berlin all the way from moscow...). This right here is another example, almost the entire team was Ukrainian.
Actually those Soviet teams included Georgian, Belarusian and Armenian players too.
