I don't know of anyone else saw this but, a guy on reverb did a Cobain Tribute Bullet Mustang with a vintage style trem, vintage style switches and a Tune-O-Matic that also really looks awesome. I'm really seriously considering trying it myself and seeing how it goes.
Great vid/series! You should have way more subs. I've learned alot more from this channel than those blokes Jared Dines and Stevie T. I'm itching to get a cheap guitar to practice cutting and wiring.
Thanks dude i really appreciate the support glad the videos are helping you learn. I feel a lot of the bigger channels gloss over the important stuff way too much. Yeah bro get modding it's good fun 🎸👌
Man this build is a banger. Really enjoying someone taking time on modding-testing guitars with a grungy perspective. Keep up the good work mate, cheers from Argentina
I changed my pickups in my Squier Bullet Mustang, along with the pickguard and the switches. The body didn't had the hole for the switches, so i had to take my dremel and cut it, which was a pain in the ass... Everything got really dusty and took me a lot of time, but finally i have it done.
The Guitar Manifesto Yep, I didn’t even know how to solder but I got it right and that humbucker stayed in for over ten years...I still have it (dimarzio dp100). I butchered two Pickguards like that back in the 90’s. The knife done the job and the aesthetics wasn’t even a thought, only the sound.
Nice job dude, very grunge Indeed! Are you gonna keep it for yourself? Also, is their any tonal differences between the Duncan on Kurt's original and the one in you have? I didn't realise there were different kinds of the JB. I think the Cobain signature mustangs were made for people who couldn't afford his signature jag but still wanted a Cobain style guitar and that's why they aren't entirely accurate.
Hey man I searched everywhere to find information about Seymour JMJ pickup but can't find any information about it. You said the original Cobain mustang had a JMJ instead of a SH-4. Is that the same thing as a SH-4?
I have the original one in fiesta red. I was looking for it long time and finally bought it two years ago in mint condition for 800$ in Czech Republic. BUT eventually I´m still thinking about Jaguar (at least with humbuckers if not KC signature) to be honest!
I've reviewed the Fender KC Stang and Jag before both very awesome and very different guitars. I'm planning on a budget Jaguar check yesterdays video on the Squier Classic Vibe Jaguar.
@@theguitarmanifesto yep I know, I´m watching you, tks a lot for this channel! Regarding this Squier - idk - Indonesia... I just want Fenders only. I´m not so rich to buy cheap things hh :)
@@theguitarmanifesto hey man, sry for bothering you, just letting you know I finally bought KC Jag here in Czech Republic for 1300$ ( it was 1900$ before discount) and it is on his way home. Now I have to vindicate this bargain to my GF :D wish me luck
Sry I've trouble to understand what you're saying around 2:20 "Gmjay" pickup? ahah Sry I don't speak english good enough could you write it down and what source did you use to find out? I only saw the Seymour Ducan JB for the mustangs
Good progress, bro. Sucks that the correct pots are still on the way. I was worried when at first, you didn't drill small holes before using the dremel to chip away bit by bit for the humbucker hole. No need to be that perfectionist, Cobain wouldn't be as meticulous as you.
Rob quick question, last time I took all the stings off this guitar as I put them back on they were really close to fingerboard and wouldn't play. When I put them all back on it was fine, never had this issue before
@@theguitarmanifesto nor me. Only ever happened to me once on this guitar and since then I've change the strings one by one. Thing is I really need to clean the finger board
I am thinking of buying an electric and regarding the new NAMM CV Mustang 60s, would you recommend it or should I get a VM Mustang? Obviously, I am looking for a Mustang type :)
@@theguitarmanifesto Makes sense. Have you got any idea about the time these will be available in stores? I don't seem to find that information on the web..
"I'm not going for perfection, I'm going for grunge" 😂
Damn straight 👌 that's how we rolled in the 90s
Maybe i'll tattoo this on my head someday hahahaha
Life motto right there 👌💥
Proper enjoying this series
Glad to hear it bro 😎🎸👌

SAWDUST! Really speaks to the grungeness of the guitar😂🎸😎
The sawdust adds colour to the tone 😂😂 fucking hipsters, just plug it in and let her rip 🎸👌💥🍔
Excellent work Rob. Can't wait for part 5!
Thanks bro me too 🎸💪😎
I can't wait to hear and see this guitar when it's finished good luck Rob and Rock on🤘🎸
It's getting closer nearly there now, can't wait myself 😎🎸

Thanks bro wanted to document the build in detail to help out the beginners, glad you're enjoying the videos 🇬🇧🇦🇷 hello Argentina 😎🎸
Nice Job, great to see how you used the dremel and drill bit!
Thanks bro, hope it helped
I’ve got a Duncan ‘59 pickup to install in my G&L ASAT Bluesboy and this is inspiring me to get it done.
Ah awesome, yeah get it in there bro will sound killer
can’t wait to hear when you get it finished !👍🏻
It's getting closer
This is coming along ao well Rob, awesome stuff, I am amped and ready for the next part

Yeah have a go bro, thank you very much stay tuned plenty more to come and other projects too
Lol Kurt at the beginning cracked me up
😂👌🎸 all about the Mustangs

Awesome job, yeah it gets very messy using a dremel
@@theguitarmanifesto Yeah, but i used the sanding thing, which resulted in a lot more dust, more time haha. Anyway, i like the result
If it works go for it I say
Put some white sillicone around the bottom pick up hole. To fill the gaps between scratch plate
Thanks dude I'll keep it as it is
I cut my first Pickguard for a humbucker with my moms breadknife. Haha, that was 25 years ago. ;)
Ah the days before the interweb 😂😂

Well it proved itself it worked, sod the looks it's all rock n roll after all
Another enjoyable, inspiring watch. I'm now on the lookout for a project, anybody got a beat up Squier Telecaster they'd be willing to sell me ?
That's awesome bro glad you're digging the series, yeah bro get stuck in 🎸😎💪

I think the JMJ pickup is discontinued, could be right the the jag is more accurate. I'll probably keep it
Amazing video rob when part 5?

Add "Allileurs show" footage cuz Kurt plays with a red fiesta mustang like your one.
Check part 2 already done it 💪

I've hear from different things from around now up until may
I finally bought the VM Mustang in Sonic Blue along with the Mustang I v2 amplifier just today and I fell in love. It’s brilliant
Ah nice buddy great combination, enjoy 😎🎸👌
Aren’t JMJ bass pick ups?
could i put bridge on my squier bullet mustang so it may be looks like the vintage mustang????
Yes involves routing the body
What is that tool/machine that you used?
Hi. Jb jr vs hot rail for nirvana cleans? I'm torn
Anything humbucker style will work really
@@theguitarmanifesto cheers. Do the pots need changing do you know
Cobains Stang had the original 250k pots but you could change to 500k if it's too bright sounding
Does anyone know a website/ place where I could get a pickguard for a jazzmaster 2021 model with a humbucker for the bridge?
How much does the mod cost
I've been breaking the prices down in the previous videos, will go over the prices again with a full total.
3:24 what song was that?
Come as you with Kurt taking the psh
@@theguitarmanifestothis version better than the studio tho
why didnt you show the finished product and play it ?
