- This week I sewed up my DVF Wrap dress (Vogue Pattern V2000) for the 50th anniversary of the wrap dress. My thoughts, sewing process and review are in this video. I also used my pearl kit for an upcycled sweatshirt look! Next, I'm working on my "all-black" capsule work wardrobe.

I wore a store-bought version of this in the 1960s from her. It tickles me that 50 years later I'm going to buy the pattern.
Aww what a full circle moment! Love that!
You look gorgeous in the dress. I love that your shoes seemed to match. I made this dress in the 70's. I am so looking forward to making it again.
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy making it!
I love this dress so much! You should make them and sell! So pretty!!
Thank you!
You look great in this dress. 😊 I can't wait to make this one.
Thank you! 😊
The dress is beautiful! I agree with you about fabrics where the wrong side is just blank white though...it does diminish my feelings about the fabric a bit.
Right? ☹️ Thank you so much!
Oh Raven you look fabulous in your new wrap dress. The fabric colors look fabulous on you as well. Great selection.
I’m really excited to see your black work wardrobe. Oh and by the way I love your pearls on your sweatshirt it really elevated it. You styled it amazing. Really enjoyed your video.

Aww that is too sweet! Thank you for the support.
The dress looks absolutely beautiful on you. You did a bang-up job! I have the same reaction to fabrics that are obviously printed like that. What I've decided to do (I'll be making cardigans out of the fabrics) is to use thin knits that will act as lining for the cardigans. Another thing you might think about if you wind up using similarly made fabric, is to dye the fabric. Get maybe an extra yard to play around with and be sure to note how much polyester is/isn't in the fabric. That will determine the kind of dye you'll need; whether it's for natural fabrics or polyester.
Thank you so much! I love the idea of dyeing it to give it more color! I might try that in the future
@@RavenMaureen You're so welcome. Keep in mind the idea of simply lining the garment with a thinner knit. It might prove a lot less complicated.
Raven, your dress is absolutely stunning !!🧡🧡 I can really appreciate the fact that you were so meticulously thoughtful with the construction down to the double button detail on the cuff.🙌🏾🫶🏾I’m so excited to get my hands on this pattern because DVF has had a special place in my heart for years!
Thank you so much!! Can’t wait to see your version! This pattern is a winner for sure
I love your channel Raven! can you please tell me where I can get the pattern for that wrap dress I have checked everywhere. Joanne does not have it and it is online but it is so expensive. I’m trying to get the 5. 99 special at Joannes if it ever gets there.
Hi, thank you! It’s only available on Simplicity.com
Love that dress!! Would you mins sending the link for the fabric? I can't find it at joann's Thanks much.
Thanks - just added it to the description box for you!
Very inspiring! I bought the pdf version of the pattern and there is no size guide. 😨 Also, worried as it’s suitable for both knits and woven fabrics. Would you be able to recommend a size for me in viscose jersey? (36” 28” 36”) I will make a muslin, but would be great to be in the ballpark. Thanks! 🙏
Hey there - I believe the size chart is on the website: simplicity.com/vogue-patterns/v2000
Based on your measurements, it looks like you could either go for a 12 or 14 - but definitely review the size chart before cutting your fabric. I hope this helps! :)
Did you follow the recommended pattern layout?
Hi Raven, I love the dress! Where can I get that pants pattern?
Hi Cheryl - it's by Closet Core Patterns
Thank you Raven! I absolutely love your videos! BTW, I have daughter named Raven Lynee’.
How many yards are needed of the Joann Fabric. The Site is not showing how wide the fabric is.
Not sure how wide it is but I bought 5 yards
How much yardage did you have left after making your beautiful dress?
@@cherenalee4957 none 😭
What is the name of the tool to put pearls on a garment? It it the same as the tool that make snaps? Thank you
#newbie
It’s called a bead fixer. I put the link in the description box
