- Here is a restored American M36 Jackson tank destroyer going at full speed and climbing a hump.
Unfortunately, this M36 doesn't have its original engine but is equipped with a T-55 tank diesel engine.
This was recorded during an event commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Noyon, France. - Авто та транспорт

Truly an underrated machine. Not as nimble as a Hellcat, nor as versatile as a Sherman, but that 90mm packed a punch!
But hellcat isn't safe
Even a grenade can harm it
@@artinrahideh1229 the hellcat was a long range Anti tank centered vehicle not a close range frontline vehicle so armor doesn't matter

Open top... less armor than a halftrack = speed.

Thomas Muller... So do I. I prefer the name M36 Slugger though more as it SLUGGED german tanks in ww2 an Russian tanks in the Korean war... An the The M36 Slugger was a GREAT Tank/Tank Destroyer... 30 mph Speed, Reliable an Easy to build, Good numbers of em were Built an its 90 mm Gun could easily kill Tigers an Panthers an Panzer 4's an as for the king tiger, the M36's 30 mph Speed could enable it to get the rear an sides an Shoot an Kill it. M36 Slugger... GREAT an AMAZING German an Russian Tank Killer. as also when it fought t34/85's in the Korean War, its SLUGGED them Too. XD.

@@seanmager1168 Super Pershing was the only American tank that could take the tiger 2 head on, cause it had a more powerful longer velocity 90mm gun.

Heck yeah dude. M36 Slugger's 90mm Gun was great. Could easily kill tigers an Panthers. An was great against the panzer4,s if it had to fight em. An it's 30 MPH Speed an Simple Reliable Design was great too. King tiger was real big beefy armored but no big deal. M36's 30mph speed could get it behind and/or to the sides of the king tiger where it could kill it.

The M36 was a Armored Fighting Vehicle (a tank destroyer) not a tank.
Would have been nice if the U.S. military would have brought back the several M36's that we captured in Serbia (in the 90s) and Iraq (in the 2000's).

REALLY REALLY GOOD Name. As it LITERALLY SLUGGED german tanks. as It had a 90mm Gun. That's a GOOD Powerful Gun which could RIP Through some Good amount's of Armor. The M-36 Tank-Destroyer was a GOOD addition to The American Army in WW-2. As it was a Effective, Reliable, Good Weapon. I Think if we did Not have the M-36 SLugger, some battle's would have been a BIT More hard.

With armor, the HVSS suspension and better ammunition, it would have been a formidable tank.

I myself find it intriguing that why didn't the U.S.Army just use the M-10/M-36 hull design with the E-8 suspension instead of the M-4 various hull designs?. Seems to me that it would have increased the production of the basic M-4 design?. Just ponders the question?.
The M10/M36 hull design used somewhat lighter armour than the M4 on account of being basically a mobile AT gun and reworking the hull design to have the have armour equivalent to the M4's standards would have taken time and resources, and so would retooling the production lines to build the different hull shape - you've already got the M4 in mass production in all its assorted flavours, so just keep on mass producing them without interruption.
