That's it. I believe they are deliberately pushing the government to the tight corner so they make a major mistake like Marikana, and they will turn this into a civil war. The police and soldiers are very diplomatic. They are not looking for the government, they are looking for something bigger than this, the land looting issue.

Very true, but our Country is set up wrong fundamentally. Although it is beautiful. People from other Countries own our mines, resources and land. The mines also own houses and might I add a lot of them. In my opinion government housing could have grown leaps and bounds by now if it was implemented to house the have nots. The youth that have been to college are not getting jobs. I also think there is a misconception on both sides that the haves have a lot when really it is 5 people in one household paying the rent and buying food, also living on paycheck to paycheck only buying chuck and pap to get through the month. No one person is better than another we all struggle privately. The system has been failing for a while now and I get the feeling all of us are just not sure where to go from here on out.

How many people will now loose their jobs because of all the businesses they have burned?

This is heart breaking. All those looted shops represent a place where people used to be employed. It will take time rebuild and that's if business owners choose to and are able to rebuild.
What is going to happen to all those people who will have lost their places of work overnight through no fault of their own in most cases?
These places also represented the proximity to amenities for many. Where do they go now?
The sad part is that it will be the same communities that will have to live with the effects of what is happening right now.
We all know that government is not going to come and rescue these communities.
They've failed to do much for them over the decades and there is no indication that they will begin to do so now.
A few hours of pure criminal destruction is going to haunt people for a long time to come.

The sense of being entitled is what is driving this madness. What is heartbreaking is the number of women and children partaking in this looting. What are we really teaching our youth??

Zuma looted our country while he he was president. He led by example. Now the community is doing the same. Jacob Zuma is a disgrace to the Zulu people, I don't know why they support him. Zuma disgraced himself and the whole south Africa.

Please response to the looting in terms of number officers deployed, reaction time, and the actual conduct of the response of the officers, that is what encourages the looters, Police action is not decisive. It doesn't show that the police is in charge of anything

The moral leaders, elders and moral instances of the community need to come together to stop the chaos and the misbehaviour. This is only hurting the community!
