The reason it was important whether she was a virgin is because in Hellsing lore full blooded vampires can only be made from a virgin. If it's not a virgin, then what the human will turn into if a vampire drinks their blood is a "ghoul" instead.
By confirming that yes, she is a virgin, this gives him the confidence to fatally wound/shoot her because he can just make her into a vampire now.
Its also important because I think in the lore as well, only the opposite sex can be turned as well meaning that Alucard can only turn females as he is male (not entirely certain so don't quote me on that lol)
See i thought the same thing and wanted to tell people that when they asked in the video but i wasn't 100% sure on it so thanks for confirming.

The ending is actually good within the show. The catboy is basically the physical embodiment of Schrodinger's cat (it was stated from his introduction). So when Alucard absorbs him, he absorbs that as his being. It was foreshadowed before the ending. So it wasn't plot armor or bad writing. Also I feel attacked because I didn't put it together that Alucard was Dracula backwards until Hellsing Abridged because I never heard of Alucard before.
I had to admit that was pretty clever for what they did with that catboy character.

Hellsing is, _shockingly,_ the story that best keeps up with Dracula lore. Hellsing is better at keeping vampire working the same way Bram Stoker did than the fucking _movie adaptations of Bram Stoker's book_ do.
One thing that gets dropped hardcore by any later adaptation of vampires is that, originally, only people who were virgins could become one.
So yeah, Alucard had to ask Police Girl if she still had her v card. Because if she didn't, he couldn't have shot through her and saved her "life" later, because he couldn't have made her a vampire.
Because modern vampire stories forget in Bram Stoker's Dracula, Dracula could turn into wolves, bats, mist, and the sun doesn't particularly hurt him. So most of the time Hellsing is the classic Dracula versus the modern wimpy vampires that just suck blood and make ghouls.
At least he doesn't sparkle 😂
If I recall correctly, its not that Dracula is weak to the sun, its just that at some points of time in the day, his powers are off. And majority of that "power off" time is in the morning.

The Cat Boy’s ability (Schrodinger’s Cat) is an absolute mind fuck of an ability, its a complete paradox where while one thing is true about the ability holder, so is the opposite, so Cat Boy is at all times everywhere and nowhere, dead and alive, exists and doesnt exist, etc. The plan of The Major (main antag) is to force Alucard to consume the cat boy and gain his ability. Because Alucard has some 3 million souls within him, the ability applies to each, meaning Alucard is always in infinite places 3,000,000th power. This caused his consiousness to scatter because thats just what would happen if you were in infinity^3,000,000 power places all at once.
It's also a good plan because Schrödinger offered up up his blood which in this universe is more potent than just forcing. That is a lot of factors that fucked over Alucard
Well, it was a few things. One, like @Blue Wolf said, Schrödinger gave his life willingly to Alucard. This basically handed his ability to Alucard. The 3 million plus souls is the other integral part, but it's not because they all obtain Schrödinger's ability, only Alucard does. The 3 million souls do, however, make it impossible for Alucard to recognize himself, which is an integral part of Schrödinger's power. If Schrödinger can recognize himself, then he is everywhere and nowhere. If he goes unobserved, then he is *also* everywhere and nowhere. That's how he escaped the meeting in...episode 4? Pretty sure it was episode 4.
So no, it wasn't plot armor. The Major didn't even plan to win the war, he just wanted victory in battle with Alucard. He always planned to loose the war. And in a way, he did win. Alucard's goal has been to get himself killed. Looked at how he pushed Anderson. But Anderson was too weak to do it without becoming a monster of God. The Major ended up giving Alucard the ability to never not exist, unless he goes unobserved and he can't recognize himself again. But now that he has Seras to raise and Integra to protect, he'll likely never get rid of himself. At least for a while.
A paradox of a paradox
The biggest issue i had with catboy was where the hell he even got that catboy to have those abilities in the first place.

So, about Alucard asking Seras if she's a virgin; In the world of Hellsing, you can only become a vampire if you fulfill two criteria: 1. You must be a virgin. 2. The vampire that turns you must be of the opposite sex. If EITHER of these criteria aren't met, you turn into a ghoul (aka a zombie under the vampire's command).
1.Its established earlier in the series that having blood offered is more potent then it being taken, as it makes the souls in question fuse together
Schrödinger ,being a living paradox that can stay alive and appear everywhere and nowhere so long as he can recognise his own existence, offered his blood to Alucard and as a result Alucard got his powers as a baseline.
The trouble however is that because Alucard had over 3 million souls inside of him, he couldn't recognise himself. Literally forcing him to just *stop existing*
That is until he expelled every other soul except his own from his body. Which took very nearly 30 years to do.
2. Walter actually came *really close* to killing Alucard. Only failing due to sheer luck and Alucard making him run out of time.
The Hellsing Abridged series I 100% recommend, it somehow makes an insane anime even insaner with off the wall jokes and dialogue.

One of the most interesting things about Hellsing that not everyone notices is that it's actually a Monster Mash! Alucard is obviously old school Dracula, Anderson is Frankenstein's Monster, the risen humans are essentially Zombies and there are also a werewolve, cyborg, mad doctor, Benjamin Button (shout out again to TFS, please watch the abridged), our delightful paradox of a cat boy and others I'm likely forgetting. Freaking delight to watch them be thrown together and not be watered down to glittery jokes or children's fodder❤

The manga was goated. I love this series so much!! Got me into reading when I was younger. I have fond memories of Hellsing (Alucard's theme, my beloved) but Hellsing Ultimate (the one that follows the manga more closely) destroyed me. Not to mention... Integra Hellsing 🥰🥰🥰

The cat boy was supposed to be Schrödingers cat like the quantum uncertainty thing where he’s both dead and alive, nowhere and everywhere at the same time. So when alucard absorbed him he basically got trapped in a state of quantum uncertainty multiplied by the millions of souls he had consumed over the years that’s basically why he disappeared. Also he was super OP so they had to come up with some bs way to nerf him lol

Yeah that entire episode of Castlevania was just weird. To this day whenever I get bored and rewatch the anime, I always skip the sex episode and just carry on.
So I don't think they ever explained it in the anime but the whole virgin thing if I'm not mistaken is what allows her to become a vampire and a particularly powerful one at that.

27:05 This is something that bothers me that I haven't seen explained: why didn't they just blast them with a jet and then fly away? How did the vampires even operate the submarine when they can't move over flowing water without being in a casket? Does the submarine itself function as a huge casket? If that's the case, then why is she able to be on the top deck no problem?
Regardless, that's not the point -- the point is, if you destroy the ship completely they will be stuck in the ocean and will be completely protected from the flowing water. Even if they can swim, it will take multiple weeks even for a vampire to reach Shore especially in a weakened state. Blow up the submarine, and shoot down any survivors because wounding them will use up their energy, and just let the flowing water, lack of blood, and excess sun deal with them.
Even if it wasn't part of an obvious trap, they could have just sent some guy to deal with the problem and kept Alucard on the mainland to deal with the primary forces since he is the biggest gun and the heaviest hitter.

Please react to Hellsing Ultimate Abridge is 10 episodes from 15-25 min long. I love this show also the original Ultimate Series has 10 ep 1h long n is fantastic. This show was one of the first TFS Abridge because the show is already R rated n Dark they didn’t have to change much just give it some touches.
I think they were taking about ameticanized vampires, the old stories of vampires in europe are very horror like and disgusting. Real vampires are supposed to be miserable and tortured creatures
