I am learning this piece, but it is very hard. Later, I found your piece! It was great!!! I also look at Sebastian Lee, too. Thank you for this a.azing piece!!
My all state audition for tenor sax is having me play this, and this is definitely the best recording ive found. Even if it's a little different due to instrument, it's great for ahowing me what things are supposed to be like rythmically
언제나 선생님께 큰 도움을 받습니다. 이번곡도 선생님의 친절하면서 깨끗하고 정확한 연주를 열심히 따라하겠습니다. 정말 감사합니다. 한국팬이 I always get great help from you. I will try my best to follow your kind, clean, and accurate performance. Thank you very much. From Korea
Greetings from South Korea!! This piece is hard!! I am 11 years old. I like your wonderful skills. Thank you for doing this piece. Your other studies are wonderful. I look at Sebastian Lee op. 31 and Romberg e minor.
You have very sensitive ear! This cello (like many other old instruments) have some overtones overpowering main tones. I love it - it make its sound unique, more human.
Just a reminder to people learning cello and want to play this piece. If it’s too hard don’t try to play it perfect because as ironic as it is going ahead on music can actually drag you down because you missed some key points to learning.
You’re most welcome! There are so many great recordings of this music. It is just sometimes hard to start working on it without a slow version. Happy New Year!
Thanks so much amazing videos, I greatly enjoy and am finding lots of use from them!! I’m not sure if you saw my comment from the previous video but would it be possible for you to do the cello part(s) to Smetana’s Bartered Bride Overture?
Thank you, Sean. I am afraid I will not be able to help with Smetana. First, I decided to give yourself a break from orchestra excerpts for few years ( I spent too much time working on them in the past). Also, I will not be able to make new recordings during the summer months due to many other projects/teaching commitments. My apologies - I hope I will be able to make other videos which you will find helpful. Happy summer time!
HI, Karl. I often change Suzuki fingerings for my students. However, with my earlier Suzuki videos I got too many comments that I use "wrong" fingerings. Now I prefer to use printed fingerings. This helps to avoid confusion. I would suggest everyone to try different fingerings. There is no such a thing as "correct fingering" for everyone. Thank you for your question!
@@Cellopedia I see! Thank you for clarifying. Glad to know where you're at. I myself tend to follow printed fingerings, and make some minor changes if it suits me. And yes, I, too, agree that there's no such thing as wrong or correct fingerings. Your channel is heaven-sent. I hope you keep making these videos! They make excellent practice companion. :)
This is probably the most helpful cello channel on UA-cam. Thanks a lot!

How can he play so clean and not scratchy?
The angle of his bow on his string when he plays. Every string has a different angle tho

Thank you very much! You are making great progress if you can work on all that music. I miss traveling to/through South Korea. Stay safe!
BTW. I love the sound quality. It's just me, or an octave overtone can be heard every time he plays B (first position on the A string)?
