Selecting Columns Using Radius of Gyration Values

This video outlines how Universal I-Section beams can be selected for use as columns, by first calculating the required radius of gyration for a given column length and desired slenderness ratio.
Columns and beams with high slenderness ratios are prone to buckling and this must be taken into consideration when assigning the maximum allowable stress, to avoid failure.
