Installing a Water to Air Intercooler and piping | Honda Prelude H23 450HP

- Now that the issue with the Garrett turbo on this '98 Honda Prelude is resolved it's time to fabricate mounting hardware and piping for a water to air intercooler. Brandon walks you through the process he's doing to place and position the intercooler in a convenient location for the shortest piping distance and proper air flow.

Love seeing the progress! Once the intercooler is fully in place I expect an 80's A-Team style "I love it when a plan comes together" shot 😄
It is such a joy to watch the engineering.....the craftsmanship.....as you put together something you normally can't find in most car lots.
Thanks, Gary!
That's a lot of stuff to go into a small space but it'll look pretty cool once it's complete.
More good work - thanks for dragging me along on this journey. 😊👍
Nice work. Challenging build. Keen to see more. Thanks for sharing
Seeing how Brandon solves problems and builds these cars is very interesting to watch. I’m also really impressed with the horsepower this four cylinder is going to be putting out. I might need him to work some magic on my Audi!
Thank you Steve!
Loving this build.
About time folks started seeing the joys of WTA intercoolers. They are fairly popular in the Celica and MR2 world, and those setups usually come with fans/radiator, lagged chargecoolers, and a pump to keep things running.
And if you REALLY want efficiency, do what toyota did, and have the pump come on when a throttle signal is detected.
I think your welds look great.
Great Fab work!
Can't wait to see when it's finished
Looking forward to the water to air set up. Currently thinking of doing tbe same. Having too much heating issue.
Have you seen my baseball?
It might return lol
Late to the party but good video :)
My 2c would be more silicone less allu pipe when joining the cassis mounted duct to the engine for the exact reason you wanted it mounted on the engine / trans unit - something has to move.
Is there room for a fan in there? It's going to be snug with the turbo
Modifications will be needed lol
Route your A/C through your coolant reservoir
Does the water go through the tubes in the intercooler? Or air?
Really nice vid bro. I'm still a bit confused about "inter chillers". I know how standard intercoolers work and the principle behind it making the compressed air cooler so it becomes better for the engine in terms of combustion. What I dont get with chillers is, why cool water and use it to cool the compressed air? Wouldn't it yeild better results if you ran A/C refrigerants (gas) through the lines to the chiller box directly instead of water?
I dont have any research to prove it, its just a though i had while watching.
Forced induction interchillers are nuts but expensive.
Вряд ли это будет эффективно работать.
Any updates?
The owner has another vehicle we are working on in the shop. We'll be back on the Prelude once the other vehicle is completed.

I honestly don`t get the point of this expensive and work intensive build. What is the point? If you have a lot of money get a car that`s fast.
If you don't get it, you don't get it.
@@jrhpng I don't.
I honestly don't get why YOU are watching car builds on UA-cam.
@@UWrenchTV I love your work and painting. The car doesn`t make sense to me. If you don`t want me me here I will unsub and leave.
dude, you commented "what's the point?" which begged the question why do you watch then? It's a legit question...thanks for the views
