Yes, they are all straight up phenomenal--I've always admired the hell out of Saiki who can stand in the midst of this glorious barrage and deliver her fine vocals. Sure she has the "in ear" monitors but it still must be a workout! Bulletproof indeed!

The Maids were so young, 7 years ago, but still they had "it", even then. What is the word for talented, beautiful, catchy, skilled? Well, it's actually two words, Band-Maid.
From their earliest videos it was obvious these five people had some kind of magic together. The only comparison I can think of is John, Paul, George and Ringo.

It’s funny that Fume Z should state, “…not a copy of western music”. Truth is I believe Band- Maid has develop their own style of hard rock that combines a number of elements but is always melody centric. This is why their songs always draw you in and feel comfortable - even tho some of us do not speak, much less write Japanese. Hey, it’s BAND-MAID!!!!

They would be more popular if they wrote more old school type music like Thrill. Most of what they do is modern and progressive sounding, which sounds like everyone else. Thrill was such a hit because it wasn't the over processed formulaic garbage we hear everywhere. People want to real rock/metal.

Recently I started watching UA-camrs reacting to Band-Maid for the first (second, third, fourth, etc) time. The utter shock and awe Band-Maid imposes on all of them is priceless. It reminds me of the first time I watched a band maid. I was blown away by their skills. Every member is a master of their craft.
@rezargamer recommend checking out David Heretic. Fun reactions, and the guy seems to be genuine. Not mocking the musictaste or something, Just says it isn't his taste etc... But yeah he also gets Band-maid. But he is a musicians so he dissect the music and give a good reason for not liking and why he thinks something is awesome.
Reaction channels are worthless, and I hoped I could at least get a break from them in here, but I guess I was wrong.

Types of performing arts
Performing arts include the dance, music, opera, drama, Spoken word and circus arts.
Artists who participate in performing arts in front of an audience are called performers, including actors, comedians, dancers, musicians, and singers. Performing arts are also supported by workers in related fields, such as songwriting and stagecraft.
Performers often adapt their appearance, such as with costumes and stage makeup, etc.
There is also a specialized form of fine art in which the artists perform their work live to an audience. This is called performance art. Most performance art also involves some form of plastic art, perhaps in the creation of props. Dance was often referred to as a plastic art during the Modern dance era.
Music
Music as an academic discipline mainly focuses on two career paths, music performance (focused on the orchestra and the concert hall) and music education (training music teachers). Dennis grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio before attending Gulf Coast Jr. College in Panama City, Florida where he was a first team All American. From there he attended Drake University where he graduated and was first team All Missouri Valley. Dennis then was drafted by the NY Knicks in 1973 and was part of the Knicks organization from 1974-1976. From there he played in Europe and finished his career in the Eastern League now the CBA. Dennis went on to get his MBA from Grand Valley State University after starting Recreational Debut in 1984.

I won’t add anymore to the comments about Band-Maid’s talent. It’s without doubt that they are very highly skilled, they’re even better live playing in both big or small intimate venues.
I just want to say that this MV captured a beautiful aesthetic. The ladies playing out in the open, bathed in natural light with the wind blowing while they’re rocking is just a sight to behold!

Music is only bias. It's personal taste. But Band Maid is incredible by any standard. Musicianship of Rush. Tightness and energy of ac DC. Melodic genius of the Beatles and Fleetwood mac. Pure sexiness and presence of the Stones. Band Maid Forever. 🤘🤘
I'm convinced Kanami is one of the best guitarists in the world right now. She has metronomic precision. Amazing.
They are all pretty good but the drummer is light years away.
I think something that always impresses me is that the other two (of the Kami trio) are from a very prestigious music school in Tokyo so it's obvious in how good their ability to play their instruments are. On the other hand, Kanami is an Economics/Business(?) major. She only started guitar in high school

This is the opening track on Brand New Maid and it gives an amazing blast of energy of what's to come in the album.
I Love this band More with each song I hear. And every song more with every listen. Band Maid is a Real power house of Talent. I tell every one I meet about you. I break out my phone and blue tooth speaker, play "Thrill", The first verse starts, and The most common response is "DAMN!", and they are hooked. bouncing their head and all- "I like this a lot!" After a week or so, I can sincerely say that this is one of the best (if not the best!) rock / metal bands I've ever heard. Period.
The riffage in this song is so good! The composition and ofc Kanami's guitar playing here is genius .
Absolutely--genius is the appropriate word! I just listened to a fairly new all female rock band, who shall go unnamed, earlier on the recommendation of an online acquaintance. Oh, they''re a good band, but their songwriting isn't even CLOSE to Kanami and the ladies! The other band is using a formula of 2 or 3 melodic ideas, power chords that repeat and after two times of hearing the song it's a snoozefest. And, of course, they are following the bs formula of NO Solos! (hate that!) The riffage alone in this song is light years ahead of what they're doing. The structure of their songs is killer with the usual amazing bridge, a stellar Kanami solo and whatever else they choose to add! As someone mentioned on another song, perhaps Wonderland, there are usually enough ideas in every Band-Maid song to supply 3 normal songs by other bands. It's about creativity and vision-they are so inspiring with their compositional abilities.
And the winner of the Band-maid v Wind Turbines power challenge is quite clear in this MV. Band-Maid will always blow your mind everytime.

Plus the fact they are five attractive Japanese women.
In my experience they are popular because they are good. Image has almost nothing to do with it, of which i'd say that more applies to idol groups or perhaps something like Scandal, where their musical abilities are yet to develop. The core of Band Maid fans have followed them for a long time and there are very few remarks about their image much of the time - simply because they are fairly average looking Japanese women. Please don't impart your western nonsense over to the east, it's why some of us left in the first place.
