I paid a visit to a couple of companies on the docks in Grimsby, and as I was leaving I was stopped by security. When they found out that I was filming they asked me to delete all the footage and told me that if I didn't I would be arrested.
I told him I wasn't going to delete the footage so he tried to detain me. Good luck with that lol

Detaining someone could be another form of kidnapping which is a life sentence.
It would only be kidnap if they made him move from one location to another. However, in this case it would only qualify as false imprisonment which purely involves the unlawful detention of a person. He also committed battery when he put his hands on him, so it would be false imprisonment and battery.

Police & Criminal Evidence Act 1984: 24A Arrest without warrant: other persons (1) A person other than a constable may arrest without a warrant- (a) anyone who is in the act of committing an indictable offence; (b) anyone whom he has reasonable grounds for suspecting to be committing an indictable offence.
Filming in public is not an indictable offence so and citizen's arrest would be unlawful potential leaving the arresting person open to criminal charges and claims for compensation.

You an only detain someone for an indictible offence and you can use reasonable force to resist an unlawful arrest and have him prosecuted for committing a criminal offence/s
