Excellent. Great to see you out using the disco for family camping trips. My daughter (only 3) is super excited to go camping this year, we did a night over the BH weekend just at home but have some weekends booked already. It part of my motivation for getting the defender fixed. Hopefully a mix of roof tent and ground tent camping this summer.
Nice one! That’s one thing we said this year, get out as much as possible now the disco is back up and running. We could maybe do with a bigger roof tent though 🤔
Have you thought about building a storage system for the Disco' that'll allow the kids to sleep inside? I have a D2 and I was determined to avoid a roof tent so I built drawers to fill the "boot" and then took out the rear bench-seat and replaced it with the 2 dicky-seats out of the back. The two dicky seats bolt properly to the floor and work with the original rear seatbelts. The seat-backs fold forward and then I've got a lump of 3/4" plywood that lays over the top of the seats and then I can put cushions on top of the drawers and the seats to create a sleeping platform 1.9m long. For daily-driving, it's a 4-seater with drawers full of stuff in the back and the plywood board and cusions live on top of the drawers. For short trips I fold the rear seats down, put the plywood platform over them and I can pack more stuff in the rear footwells. For longer trips, I can unbolt the rear seats completely and put luggage or more junk under the plywood platform.
I did consider it, we mainly use the caravan with the kids although we are considering a bigger tent for quick 1 nighters. If you’ve seen my video in Northumberland I made a bed in the back to sleep in before we bought a roof tent.
This looks great. I'm thinking about getting a roof tent but I can't decide if it's a good idea as a family camping solution vs a ground tent. The main downside is that you can't use the vehicle when the tent is pitched. Any advice?
I’d say there’s pros and cons to both, a roof tent your off the ground so not as cold and damp but you catch more wind. I like being up high for the views in the morning too. I do know a few people mount their roof tents onto a trailer so you could use your car. Also roof tents are a bit more expensive. If your interested in a tent box, I am an ambassador and can give a discount code 👍
"ONE LIFE, LIVE IT" Disco Motto! And you Sir, are NAILING IT!
Thank you 😊
That's what it's all about. Your Kids will remember these days forever. Simply but the best.
I agree! Hopefully lots more to come
Great video as always
That looks a cracking little campsite to
Thank you, yeah it’s a decent little site and on the edge of the lakes

I don't know how popular this kind of video is for you, but I love them. Nice, simple and happy!
I know they probably won’t get the views that repair videos get but these are the videos I want to make. Glad you enjoyed it neale 😀
