Alize Lim: "now why am i in this?"
Thank you for being one of the few channels on UA-cam that posts videos about WTA after the insane amount of channels covering the ATP its nice to see somebody appreciating the women enough to make the effort to post videos
Awwww thank you for watching it😭😭❤️❤️🫶🏻🫶🏻
I love Kristie Ahn. I remember her qualifying for the 2008 US Open out of nowhere and playing a good match against Safina in round one. I waited over a decade for her to win a slam match and it was really gratifying to see her reach the fourth round when she did.
Well.. I don't remember only 1 match from Vickery.. I also remember that infamous qualifying match in the US Open where she started screaming 😂 her opponent was injured as well
YESSSS THIS WAS SO CHAOTICALLY FUNNY
Was it the match where she was playing Lepchenko?
@@hassy1951 shinikova
@@janetcarole1286 I can’t find the video anywhere 😭
@@hassy1951 same 🥲 it was a masterpiece of a video
Well, I also only remember one match from Naomi Broady
VS Ostapenko again😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes! First one that comes to mind lol
She hit the ball boy with her racquet 😂
@@pkoppula Neither she hit the ball boy with her racquet nor she even threw it. You are so stupid and dumb, that to you every racquet leaving one's hand is racquet throw. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You clearly can't tell the difference between racquet throw and racquet slip.
I was going to the post the exact same thing 😆
Few honorable mentions:
- Jana Fett vs. Caroline Wozniacki in R2 of the 2018 Australian Open. Several tennis fans would probably recall that Fett was up 5-1 in the third set (and, had two match points) and still lost. Wozniacki later went on to win the tournament.
- Alexandra Panova vs. Maria Sharapova in R2 of the 2015 Australian Open. Panova played lights out tennis and had two match points on her serve but couldn't close the match out and lost to Sharapova in three sets.
The Panova one is a great one. You could add Camille Pin to that list, also at the AO against Sharapova in '07 1r.
Michelle Larcher de Brito defeating Sharapova was really big in Portugal, for like a day, because she lost the following round unfortunately. She is a real estate agent now
Anna Friedsam was quite a familiar face of German team in Fed Cup. Btw, as an Southeast Asian, I have seen few matches of Kumkhum at SEA games or ITF
I still remember Larcher de Brito what a shock thst was
Kumkhums angles tho 😮😮
I remember Kumkhum cuz she still play on ITF very often and Vickery played AO qualies.
Lol i knew Kumkhum would be here.
She beat Serena, too.
I hope Friedsam will crack the top 100 again. It’s been 3 years and she’s been so close but just hasn’t been able to do it. Hopefully she’ll have a good run at a WTA 500 cause she’s currently 118 in the world
It's so sad because since her big shoulder injuries she has never been able to find her old level again
Literally only forget about Lim, because I seriously have no idea about her
Edit: Just checked her name on Google and social media. She's a commentator for Australian Open in 2022 (and also this year) and she has 100k+ followers in Instagram
same
She was known for being one of the prettiest tennis player back then
i remember ahn playing twice against serena at us open and french open first round
Facts, I was like danggg she can’t get a break😂😂
She retired last year right?
Man, that 2016 was another missed chance for Radwanska (who had several missed chances in majors in her career). That was her last stretch of really good form after winning the YECs a couple months before. It all went downhill after that 2016 Aussie Open
She was playing alright at Wimbledon and was a bit unlucky to lose to an inspired Cibulkova in a very tight match. She also won Beijing in the autumn and finished the year no3…not bad. 2017 was awful though.
Vickery’s match against Muguruza was the most random miracle performance I’ve seen in years.
So true, add Vitalia Diatchenko vs Maria Sharapova WC 2018
Definitely not forgotten u know what I mean
I would add Melanie Oudin against Sharapova at USO 2009
Love ur channel
Melanie oudin
USO 2009 against Sharapova for sure
What about Misaki Doi and Jana Fett?
Uufffff I wanted to see Penko’s face at the end looool
Luksika Kumkhum is working on her comeback. She played on the ITF last year and did pretty well. Had a winning record and went from unranked to in the 300s. Let's see how she does this year.
What happened to her that she became unranked?
@@hassy1951 probably injury
@hassy I'm assuming it was injury as well. But she was basically inactive for 2 years and thus all her ranking points fell off. But when she started playing again she did not get a protected ranking. She truly had to start at the bottom playing W15 events in her home country. And W15s are the lowest level ITF event. She got her ranking up with those and has now been playing W25s and W60s. I love her game, I'm a 2-handed player and I love her uniqueness but Marion Bartoli will forever be my tennis love!
Didn’t she get married and fall pregnant soon after?
Kumkhum played Ostapenko in SF of Seoul 2017, which was a very impressive match for me! (Ostapenko was the RG champion earlier that year)
Not to mention her win against Bencic in the 2018 AO second round. She won 6-1 6-3 after Bencic had just beaten Venus in the first round.
Claudine Schaul, who defeated Lindsay Davenport in the 04 Strasbourg Final.
Virgine Razzano and Harmony Tan 🤔🤔
Kumkhum is a strong player but she was injured in 2018 😢 I hope she can comeback at top 100
She’s on the comeback trail. She’s like 300 something in the world rn
Such a wholesome moment between Alize and Serena ❤
Great job. Never heard of Kumkhum. If she could bottle up how well she played that match. She could've been top 10 for years. Hey she got one match out of it. So god bless her
I would add wozniacki losing to Cetkovska us open 2015- nobody saw that coming
Cetkovska was a pretty established player already
I def remember Friedsam for way more matches than that one
Oooh good topic for a vid
wait i don't remember kumkhum using one hand for her forehand
Larcher de Brito is now a real estate agent.
Pacsek vs wozniacki Wimbledon 2012
Also serena vs zakapolova French open
Melanie Oudin US Open vs Sharapova
Petra Cetkovska with beating Wozniacki in US Open 2015
Cetkovska had some good wins in her career and she was a top 30 player. Neither of these players from the video didn't get to top 50.
VICKERY PLAYED LIKE A TOP 10 PLAYER ..... WHAT HAPPEN
wonder whatever happened to Larcher De Brito
She retired and became a real estate agent
She had a voice operation, screamed too much
Is the Alize Lim thing a joke?
Didn’t kumkum beat bencic at ao too
Kumkum beat everyone at some point. A queen in my opinion
You forgot Sabine Lisickl
she literally reached a slam final and another semifinal at slams and has multiple wins against top 10 players
@@mateojuric1202 was a joke
It wasnt funny🌝
Inremeb3r the Vickery match
Cepelova should be on this list
There are 3 of them, so I didn’t put here here
why is Alize Lim here?
who is alize lim???
Tony Parker's girfriend 😉
lucie hradecká Vs Ana Ivanovic AUS Open
Not really. She had a SF run at Madrid 2012 and won multiple Slams in doubles and an Olympic medal
I don't understand why Alize Lim in the list.
Vickery 👑 report all of them 🫶🏻
