Same here, as long as the virus is at such a stage I'd rather just not travel. I get free health care in the UK should anything happen, I don't in Thailand.
The Quarantine is the least of the issues associated with getting back to Thailand. Here is what Ive experienced: Time sensitive documents, inflexibility from Thai embassies, ASQ hotel prices, 72 hour Covid testing prior to travel, medical insurance, 1 year 800K in Thai bank, Red zone to yellow zone permission..........."Absolutely no way Im coming to Thailand"
Unfortunately it would have to take removing 14 day quarantine for me to go. As an average Joe, I only have 2 weeks vacation at my job, so that's all my vacation.
@Jim Davis wait how the hell has it bin locked down for that long the virus hasn’t even bin in the news a year yet? And that’s really fucked up and a certain point you have lost too much and you need to just protect your old and keep life fucking moving. There are obviously no better fucking options. Sorry Jim!
I'm in quarantine day 4 now. It's not the worst way to spend two weeks. Good WiFi, hot shower, good bed, good food, and after two weeks, I can see Thailand without huge crowds of tourists. Seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity to me. Plus I finally get to meet my Thai girlfriend after talking with her for over two years online. I had tickets to come a year ago, but stupid Covid ruined it.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! We were to arrive last Friday - pretty close to when you did, but we cancelled with the fish workers outbreak. It was just too "iffy" to us if we would have been allowed to travel as we had planned. We wish you a great time in Thailand! We will be back for our 10th 1 month stay when the 2 week quarantine is lessened. Hopefully by Christmas!!! :) P.S. As a med provider I could have taken Vaccine last week, but doing "wait-see" for now.

The issue isn't the quarantine for the STV, it's the strict application requirements. Tourist Visa was very simple and we had one within 4 days of applying!
I am working on getting the STV visa with my girlfriend. 2 weeks of quarantine is OK for us, but the price of those hotels are crazy. Especially that is per person not per room. Thanks for the news, Chris!
Yes they're ridiculously expensive. I would recommend you get a place with a balcony. It makes a real difference to be able to get direct sunlight and fresh smog instead of 24/7 aircon air.

I just flew home from the Philippines after a 22 month stay and will start my vaccine in 2-3 weeks. I hope Thailand will let me get the STV program with a vaccine card and avoid the 14 day quarantine...

I been following the golf quarantine visa, be advised it is just for 30 days + an additional 15 days for quarantine so total 45 days. The only price I have is for Mida G&C at 90K baht for quarantine (15 days). Given that there is lockdown from province to province, you cannot travel around the country. This is a non starter for me. Also, not all details have come out on the 6 golf courses but for now, two of those only accept group tours (how many persons, unknown).

Clearly a 14 days quarantine is a deterrent for tourism. Tourism will not resume until the quarantine is lifted or reduced to a reasonable period (2-3 days).
another great video, Chrises! What would it take for my family to visit? Acceptance of COVID vaccine and quarantine until test 1 comes back negative (2 days?)
For me, if you’re travelling on the STV the 14 day quarantine shouldn’t be that much of an issue. The financial demands and evidence of accommodation being paid in advance etc if they’re still in place is/would be the issue.
I don't really mind the 2 week quarantine. My biggest annoyance with the STV is booking the additional 75 days accommodation with Tax ID, etc. Hard to find a good spot and company being overseas 😢

Quarantine for long term stay needs to drop to 7 days. If you need to get a test 72 hrs before travel and another 6 days into quarantine then that should be more than sufficient to cover concerns. There should also be cheaper options for quarantine ASQ hotels.
I think it's reasonable to quarantine for 4 or 5 days, with negative tests before flying in, test upon arrival, negative test on Day 3, and a test and doctor's exam on Day 5.
@@matt_travels stop being a fool. So disrespectful to those who have become sick or worse. Are you that disconnected from society that you know of no one who was affected?! You must live in your own, little world.

Yes, exactly! Why don't they just rope off a beach? Seems like there are more of those than golf courses. Wait... remind me who owns the golf courses? 🤔
They could add vaccination zones soon.. But first they have to see which beach area gives the best bribes to authority to be allowed to open such a zone... that bureaucracy takes a long time to sort out Edit: don't get me wrong, i love the country and the people.. but i know how the bureaucracy works :)
They kinda sorta have a "beach resort quarantine" in that they allow visitors to quarantine in Pattaya city in a handful of dedicated ALQ hotels. These hotels have dedicated vans that will pick up arrivals from Suvharnabumi airport and take them to the hotel for the mandatory quarantine. A few of these hotels are more upscale and actually call themselves resorts, and Siam Bayshore actually has outdoor recreation and exercise areas for quarantined guests. Avani Pattaya resort is also upscale. Some of these hotels are also somewhat close to the beach and have nice views of the shore. It would have been nice had they expanded this concept and had dedicated areas on the beach for quarantined guests. But as I myself have pointed out multiple times, no reduction/elimination of the 14 day quarantine, no go for me and many other tourists.
Hey Chris, I am planing to go to Thailand with my wife this year, but only when they have this quarentine regulations removed, dont wanna stay 14 days in a hotel. Do you think Governement will withdraw it still this year?
The 2 week quarantine requirement has certainly dissuaded many from visiting Thailand. However, a stronger baht and people feeling poorer in general due to the negative impact of Covid-19 on the global economy is the bigger issue. Those currently visiting Thailand and the advent of the golf quarantine package serves to attract those who can afford it.
By the way, these restrictions seem overly strict given that people spend quite a bit of time outside or in their home/hotel (especially tourists), and given how limited the number of cases is in Thailand.
#1 reduce quarantine time to 7-10 days and /or allow cheaper ASQ alternatives , #2 reduce paperwork drop the COE , Fit to fly ,and covid insurance crap. #3 allow for at home PCR test or rapid testing at airports since trying to time a test result return that one has no control over ,72 hrs before one leaves is almost unattainable. Basically most of these requirements are too hard for the average person to navigate so until they are reduced or eliminated the average tourist isn’t coming back..
Hey Chris im here in ASQ now not a big problem at all but make no sense when you only stay 3 or 4 week. Zero covid concept only work with quarantine and can shorten with vaccine later. Thailand should keep that otherwise you end up like me in 3 month lookdown germany and we still have a view month to go. Thanks for all your video i always working for you to spread your channel:-)
You book your air ticket; and if there is another outbreak, a 3rd outbreak , you cannot leave. The best is to wait until everything is settle; probably until end of year.
That is exactly why we cancelled our ASQ Booking at the Park Plaza Bangkok last week. Not only problems getting home (like some Australians) but also being allowed to travel in Thailand!!!
Flying out on sunday and will try out the 15 nights quarantine. Let's see how it will be! (Chris, I need more videos!) But after being separeted from my fiancee for nearly a year and the situation in Europe, 15 nights of quarantine doesn't sound too bad!
Thailand should allow visitors who were vaccinated to enter the country with no quarantine or restrictions. I am honestly shocked they haven't done that already.
We'll be there on Feb 12th for Quarantine. Hope they don't cancel quarantine requirements before we get there, because we've already paid for our ASQ lodging...LOL. Keep the updates and interesting videos coming!
The CDC in the US is recommending 10 day quarantine for COVID positive patients. I’d say if you have been vaccinated, have a negative test prior entry, negative on entry (after your flight), and still negative at 7 days then you should be free of quarantine. If they could do that then I could actually have some vacation in thailand. I really would love to do a food tour. Do people do that for tourists in Thailand?
Absolutely no way Im coming to Thailand until they lift the quarantine. No way!

Canadian Chris sounds less Canadian than the other members of the team. Good job, man.
Are restaurants open or not?
yes, restaurants are open.
It's nice to have a little humor own and then great job keep it up
I try
Great video as usual...
Hello Chris
hey zack
OMG! The endings are about the get much happier!
Even after Thailand is open again, millions of people around the world will not come because they lost their jobs.
Thank you very much for your information.👍🎈🌺💐🇹🇭
Happy Ending bro
You book your air ticket; and if there is another outbreak, a 3rd outbreak , you cannot leave. The best is to wait until everything is settle; probably until end of year.
That is exactly why we cancelled our ASQ Booking at the Park Plaza Bangkok last week. Not only problems getting home (like some Australians) but also being allowed to travel in Thailand!!!
If we had an endless amount of vacation I would love to come back to Thailand!
Those books by Jason Gregory. He must watch your channel. That cool. I want to visit Thailand so bad. Thialand begin open I need to get stv.
We'll be there on Feb 12th for Quarantine. Hope they don't cancel quarantine requirements before we get there, because we've already paid for our ASQ lodging...LOL. Keep the updates and interesting videos coming!
A 14 day quarantine in any resort wouldn't change my mind travelling to Thailand.
What i require. No corona hardship at all and travel as usual

@@AcmeRocket yes probably or even more.
