- In today’s video, Rick (The FlyFish Fanatic)™ will be tying a fall staple, the Leech. This pattern is super simple to tie and one of the top producing flies in my box all year long. The all dubbing leech is just that, ALL dubbing. Tail and body made from the same material. Loads of movement and shine, these are absolute fish killers.
Materials:
Hook-Hend BL724 size 8-12
Thread- Semperfli Nano Silk
Tail- Arizona Semi Seal dubbing
Body- Arizona Semi Seal
Head- 1/8-5/32 black bead

Great pattern. Someone taught me a trick to make a small cut in the lower corner out of the dubbing bag. When you pull out small amounts to put in your dubbing loop it is already aligned.
Yes, that works great, I actually really like the dubbing dispensers like the one in the link. www.semperfli.net/empty-dubbing-boxes.html
That looks great. How does it hold up in the water when you're catching a lot of fish with it?
@@shutterdug9935 dubbing loops are very durable. This fly just gets buggier the more fish you catch.
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Always interesting, anything that pertains to fly fishing.
A very nice leech pattern, your explanation of materials was great
Thanks
Great pattern thanks for sharing Rick!!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like the 3each 5 or 6 turn whip finishes you put on the fly. You didn't show any applications of head cement so I am understanding you don't use it on this pattern? Nicely done video and you are right that color is something else. thanks
Sometimes I do use multiple whip finishes and other time cement. I like multiple whip finishes because of how rough I have to be while pulling out all the dubbing.
@@TheFlyFishFanatic Got it and thanks!!
Are you using Arizona mega simi seal or just regular simi seal? I like the mega, but last order l received was called mega, but it was very short.
If I can find Arizona, I like it, but Semperfli came out with a version that is also great called Semperseal, super long translucent fibers. If you want REALLY long fibers, check out Semperfli Boom dubbing, super long and awesome colors
Great pattern. Was wondering do you use tungsten or brass beads?
I Primarily Use brass beads, o rather
Control the flies decent with the fly line, however, I do Like the undulation the
Bead adds to the pattern, Ii tie this patter with bras, glass or no
Bead.
@@TheFlyFishFanatic Thats what I figured. I find tungsten sinks too quickly.
