I am not here questioning the result of the heat. I notice on the last score of Rio when he needed 8.67 to turn the heat that all 5 judges gave the exact same score 8.8. Now, while there is a small probability of this happening we might all agree that rarely this "coincidence" happens. I have heard many times that the judges do not talk to each other and only report to the head judge. Imagine how great for surfing if each judge gave their scores only based on the wave they see compared to only their own previous scores and not knowing overall how much a surfer needs to turn the heat. Just a thought I have, and I am open to hear other points of view. Well surfed heat by both surfers!

Pontuação confusa da WSL
Infelizmente não dá para entender as pontuações desses caras.
Deram uma nota muito alta na melhor onda do Michel e depois disso perderam os parâmetro e acabaram fazendo a mesma besteira na segunda melhor onda do Rio Waida, pontuando ela MUITO alta e ferrando com todo o julgamento.
A segunda melhor onda do Waida não chegou nem perto da primeira melhor dele, mas mesmo assim a pontuação foi bem próxima uma da outra.

Cry is free but the important thing is that the best surfer on the day won. Judging will always be subjective and a means to get the best surfer to advance in the competition. As long as that is happening I don’t see why we need to criticise the judging system.

No, it's not the best heat. Im just tired of this kind of approach and the judges just giving the score hos makes sense for they narrative. Fuck this 5 backsides turn in one wave, this is not even beatful anymore, and whit 2 turns they give the turn off the heat. IDK just seeing the competions getting ugly everyday

With all respect to Rio, which I'm fan, but he was overscored especially on the 9. That made the difference at the end. Mrod was the best surfer of the competition, and what WSL is doing to the stop the continuity of the Brazilian dominance in the professional surfing, which is manipulating the scores, can't be denied.

rodrigues was overscored on his first wave. 3 nice turns but none of them nearly as critical as that second turn on Rio's first wave. The scores should have been reversed.
And your conspiracy theories sound every bit as stupid as the people who complain about the Brazilians being over scored.
It's surfing. It's not that important. relax.

shame this WSL judgment this wave of 8.80 with two conventional maneuvers that did not have progressivity 8.80? Ridiculous

Please. Stop being so biased. They both surfed very well but Waida's waves were ALL way more critical turns and his scoring waves were bigger. Much better wave selection. This was judged exactly the way surfing should be judged.

Wow! WSL is losing its reputation for fairness. Weak judgment for the heat between Rio Vs Michael. At any moment Rio deserved a 9. Embarrassing stuff here to watch.
