I just lost it at hearing your mom "woo hoo" at that last climb you did. That is awesome. Your jeep is insane, takes a lot of balls and knowledge to build your own axle housing. I'm seriously impressed.
Khorsathedark thanks! She had a great time lol the rear axle was a big project dude, took alot of measuring and rechecking to make sure it stayed true.
Khorsathedark don't listen to this troll, and keep being positive brother. This dude espouses ignorant comments on the internet to fill the hole left by his shity parents. Thanks for watching :-)
I'm glad you talked about RPM to Peak torque ratio, many people don't realize how important it is to place your torque where you need it. 500lbs of torque or HP means nothing if your not at the RPM you need it.
the 1.9 tdi from VW is the most amazing engine you could find to your project. In europe, we have those engines making 200cv with huge torque reliably on those engines. Great choice.
Nate Bleepinjeep it might be in the US, because in Europe it's considered one of the all time greats, because of it's dependability-performance-economy
A guy from 'Jeep TJ Nation' on Facebook mentioned you when I posted the question, 'why don't Jeeps come with at least a diesel option?' I just saw this vid and one other of yours and all can say is 'Holy Crap!!' Not to blow too much sunshine up your kilt, but you are a freakin' genius!! Your technical knowledge and abilities are far from normal. The average 'Joe Dude' out in the world couldn't even conceive of the stuff you've done, much less actually do it. I've been a gearhead for fifty years now and honestly, I couldn't stand in the same room as you! When I was a youngin we were building big-block Chevys with all of the cool hot rod mods, backed up with four or five-speed gearboxes and either 12 bolt GM, Dana, or Ford 9" rears. A decent street-rod in those days was running eleven second 1/4 miles. Nowadays a factory Cadillac is running low tens!! With the a/c on!!! I'm freakin' old. Millennials aren't all crybaby wussies. Some of you are pretty sharp. With folks like you around, maybe the human race will actually survive! Cheers, Tim
the reason why people hate on that style radius arm setup is because so many people just found out it’s a radius arm style instead of long arms lol. sick as fuck build, hope you stick around on bleepinjeep. it’s a nice addition to the channel.
Totally awesome! I have a 02 Jetta TDI, with a stage 4 Malone tune and a 17/22 turbo with the EGR delete and a 5 speed. I plan to add an 11mm pump to mine to boost the fuel. When the PA winters finally rust the body to pieces I plan to put the engine in my 96 XJ. I just rebuilt the engine a year ago and it's got lots of life left. Your rig is so BADASS! Props to Malone Tuning. They helped me with my tune. You guys are all great! Thanks for the video. Hearing Mom excited was the best!!
Very impressed with the Jeep build especially the VW TDI install, they are very good engines, a friend wanted to install a diesel in his Suzuki SJ 413 and got hold of VW SDI (same as TDI but non turbo) and installed that with a mechanical injector pump for a low tech solution, the engine completely transformed it for offroading, along with 6.5:1 transfer low range and front and rear diffs it tackles a lot terrain at little more than idle, these VW TDI and SDI engines are superb and generally super reliable.
I just started watching your videos whitout any expectation (Matt set the bar high enough) but as long as i advance watching you i have a lot of fun. You really are entretaining and fun and inspiring to watch. Tanks men.
All this complaining about wheeling in the Pacific Northwest and here I am in the swamps of Houston. If us Houstonians want any kind of topography it pretty much becomes a weekend wheeling trip. Anyway, that is one bad ass jeep you have Nate. So far I've watched all your videos learning a lot and getting inspiration for my current XJ and my future TJ builds. Keep up the good work!
I miss wheeling my '81 351W bronco. In WA. Moved to AZ a decade ago. Miss tromping around near Granite Falls, out on the Hoh and over in Eastern. That thing is a beast ✊👊
Wow. That build is insane! All of the things you’ve fabbed yourself, that’s very impressive man. The time and dedication to this build is just incredible.
I love this walk-around and I also hope that you do a VERY detailed how-to series on the diesel conversion. however I know that projects are not easily started and done, especially filmed. I will ask that you do another detailed walk-around style video on just the conversion. what to expect when pulling the engine at the junkyard, what to expect as far as fitment on the frame, to the trans, the turbo placement, and wiring. I (along with everyone else) are VERY curious about trying this conversion!
That is really cool. Haven't seen any TDI swaps. Heard them mentioned when people talk about going diesel but not much other than that. Really neat. "Built, not bought".
Your TJ is insane! Awesome build. Love that you learned and built it the way you wanted to do it. Seems like sky's the limit on that thing. So much respect for people like you who actually build and fabricate stuff from scratch. Takes balls with ambition to match. Love that you put that tdi in there maybe it is not so rare where your from but that's the first one I've ever seen with a Volkswagen Diesel nice!
Joshua Odowd so brutal dude. I hope you guys were ok. The experience for me was very humbling and changed the way I take risks on the trail. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
The TDi is a near perfect engine for the a Wrangler. I have an 05 LJ with an ALH 1.9 TDi. It definitely has more power than the 4.0, not to mention it gets double the fuel economy. (I know you don't buy a Jeep for fuel efficiency, but it's a bonus)
Awesome TJ bud! I like your thought process on parts and components such as the AC pump to a onboard air pump and several other components on your rig.. The old adage "I don't care what it's designed to do, what can it do!"
I own an xj and am all for them but this thing is so bad ass that I might have to buy a tj and spend the next ten years of my life building it. Great job man 👍🏻
Awesome build and great video, I’m more of an overlander with a 2015 JK but man I love seeing young people with such ingenuity.. Keep up the great work.
As the newer 2.0 TDIs become available used they'll be great too. Bone stock they make more power and torque than the "official" Cummins swap kit, and that's in North Ameircan configuration. A stage 3 with the bigger European turbo turns them into a beast. The fuel system is common rail. And STOCK they have an air-to-water intercooler bolted right to the intake manifold. It just uses engine coolant. Warms the charge air off boost, and cools it on boost. Not the best for drag racing, but it'll never heat soak. Nice and compact too. No extra plumbing.
Thanks for making this video. I’ve been playing with the idea of a TDI in my Scrambler rock crawler project. Very informative, and a great rig! Good work!
Amazing build brother! Took my dad on the shake down run of the CJ7 to the Rubicon. Good times! It's got a Klune-V 4-1 with a Dana 300 and a 727 auto. I've yet to find a need for low low though and rarely use the 4-1. Having a 360 V8 it's kinda overkill. Front digs are no worries with the 9" front and CTMs, but again, rarely needed. Definitely my favorite rig and contributor on BJ!
Oh I forgot to say I've seen many people hurt by that stock windshield spreader. I run a family YJ rollbar in the CJ and no spreader because of the crap I've seen. I know I should have a front cage, but I'm pretty low and have nothing to prove. I'll back out before doing stupid shit.
Love the idea of a TDI in a Wrangler. Had a TDI golf that was a beast. TDI for daily driving and 33” tires should be a decent thing. Keep the details coming. I know the post is old.
Hmm I was thinking of one of thos 3.3 Cummins in a build, but now I might have to reassess the engine idea. I want to go diesel for torque and economy. Nice rig!!
love the build! however if you were really looking to loose the weight you really don't need a full size spare when your offroading, especially in places like Moab and KOH where you literally have 300+ lbs of spare tire pulling you back down climbs and trying to pull the jeep every which way. If you do by chance get a flat you can fix it with a tire patch/plug and a CO2 tank. I actually just got back from Moab and a buddy of mine has a TJ on 37's. The first day he ran hells revenge/fins n things with the tire on along with 2 spare gas cans and a rack and that night we ended up stripping off all the excess weight and we rolled the spare tire into our hotel room lol. I figure as long as those rock rings aren't an issue with applying a tire patch than thats the way to go, around town it doesn't matter much but once you get into some serious obstacles it makes a HUGE difference as you have seen from making everything aluminum and putting in a lighter motor. Matt even has a video on why he doesn't run a spare in his XJ lol. Awesome rig love the diesel swap!
Nice looking rig!.... And at the end, sounds like my mom when she doesn't get to drive one of me or my brothers vehicles ... she would rather drive'em then be a passenger
looks great, I've been debating buying a welder, I think you convinced me to (never welded before, but If I can figure it out it will save me a ton of $$$)
WoOsKii 1 get a welder asap! The ability to build things yourself and work with your hands is so fulfilling. At first your just sticking metal together, then it slowly becomes an art form that you love practicing
Do it! There’s lots of quality videos to learn, check out Chucky2009 he’s great and doesn’t make things to complicated and he’s schooled and certified in all welding
I just lost it at hearing your mom "woo hoo" at that last climb you did. That is awesome.

lol, thanks. I don't mind keyboard warriors. I would be bitchy too if I only had access to shitty 4x4s.
I'm glad you talked about RPM to Peak torque ratio, many people don't realize how important it is to place your torque where you need it. 500lbs of torque or HP means nothing if your not at the RPM you need it.
The WOO-HOO from your mom, just made my day. Thanks for that!
Outstanding work on this rig, very well done. Many folks don't really understand why a diesel but for us diesel enthusiasts it totally makes sense !!!
the 1.9 tdi from VW is the most amazing engine you could find to your project.

perigotube I love the tdi! It's such a under rated engine
Nate Bleepinjeep it might be in the US, because in Europe it's considered one of the all time greats, because of it's dependability-performance-economy
if you want to get more juice out of the motor look at darksidedevelopments.co.uk over ua-cam.com/users/darksidetdi
What is 200 "cv" for us Yankees?
I must admit Matt as always been my favorite on this channel. But so far I'm loving your content. Most unique tj on youtube
Finally. Not a Cummins swap. Hats off to you my man. Probably my favorite jeep to this day.
A guy from 'Jeep TJ Nation' on Facebook mentioned you when I posted the question, 'why don't Jeeps come with at least a diesel option?' Endlessly versatile motors. I knew a guy who put a hopped up 1.9 TDI in an old VW Corrado. Tiny, light car with a TON of torque!
Real mans Jeep, it's great to see someone working on their own rig.. especially to the level you took it to.
18:04 It’s nice to see the Jeep climb and continue climbing climbing like a tractor.
One of the greatest builds I’ve ever seen.
I just started watching your videos whitout any expectation (Matt set the bar high enough) but as long as i advance watching you i have a lot of fun. You really are entretaining and fun and inspiring to watch. Tanks men.
Marco Montoya thank you for the kind words!

Anyway, that is one bad ass jeep you have Nate. So far I've watched all your videos learning a lot and getting inspiration for my current XJ and my future TJ builds. Keep up the good work!
Nathan Durrett thank you for the kind words! I'm glad your pulling some inspiration for the XJ!
This is hands down the baddest craziest jeep I have ever seen, props on all the custom fab work
Jackson Green thanks man, that's a huge compliment!
Incredible. Talent and creativity rolled into one. That is an outstanding Jeep you have built.
Biggest goal is a diesel swapped Jeep and you have some of the most in depth videos on them!
Man, this Jeep is incredible. I like your creativity in your build.

I just got my first tj. This video shows me so many things that I would love to do.
That is really cool. Haven't seen any TDI swaps. Heard them mentioned when people talk about going diesel but not much other than that. Really neat. "Built, not bought".
LOVED hearing your mom scream and laugh! I always enjoyed having my mom in the passenger seat.
Your TJ is insane! Awesome build. Love that you learned and built it the way you wanted to do it. Seems like sky's the limit on that thing. So much respect for people like you who actually build and fabricate stuff from scratch. Takes balls with ambition to match. Love that you put that tdi in there maybe it is not so rare where your from but that's the first one I've ever seen with a Volkswagen Diesel nice!
love that clip at the end, my mom is too scared to drive on anything more than a mild dirt road with me
I had a 99 Tj and I rolled it twice and like you said the back roll bar held up great the front of the Jeep was a different story.
Joshua Odowd so brutal dude. I hope you guys were ok. The experience for me was very humbling and changed the way I take risks on the trail. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Really gotta respect the home built jeeps. Huge thumbs up man!
Gotta love it when Mom yells "Woo Hoo". You got a very nice Jeep bro. Love it when it's Built Not Bought.
Awesome TJ bud! I like your thought process on parts and components such as the AC pump to a onboard air pump and several other components on your rig.. The old adage "I don't care what it's designed to do, what can it do!"
Love your TJ. Wish I still had mine. Chrome Molly front axles was my first purchase.
Nate, if people dont understand the saying "jeeps are built not bought" your tj is the definition of that saying!
Dave Weaver thank you!
Awesome TJ! Very cool that you learned to fabricate all that stuff without ever having welded before. Motivates me to keep at it!
Elizabeth Martinsen definently keep at It! Metalworking is a skill that's earned over time but the joy and pride that it can bring is so fulfilling
As the newer 2.0 TDIs become available used they'll be great too. Bone stock they make more power and torque than the "official" Cummins swap kit, and that's in North Ameircan configuration. Hey Nate... thanks for tj videos
WHAT IS THIS!? Metal Detecting your welcome! Thanks for watching
Love the build man! The volkswagen diesel swap is sick!
Between this and Matt's builds i love the content.
David Ferrell which Matt?
Great walk around. Good for you for taking your time and sourcing the right parts and doing the work yourself.
You’re an inspiration. Nice build. I too, am looking for a welder and have never welded before.
Wow! Your Jeep has so much character. Such an interesting Jeep. Awesome job!
It's been a long time since I've seen a jeep that tickled my fancy two thumbs up amazing Jeep
Thanks for making this video. I’ve been playing with the idea of a TDI in my Scrambler rock crawler project. Very informative, and a great rig! Good work!
Sweet looking TJ. I feel ya on the wheel base especially in moab. That is where the LJ is a great option if you can find one priced right.
Graham905 I love ljs. If I could go back to 2006 when I bought this i would have gotten an lj for sure!
So glad you are off Bleepin Jeep... Not sure why but the whole channel just ended up in a nose dive.
Too bad you couldn't bring this video
Showing the TJ’s some love. I like it
Love jeep vids where they actually get right under.
Amazing build brother! Took my dad on the shake down run of the CJ7 to the Rubicon. Good times! It's got a Klune-V 4-1 with a Dana 300 and a 727 auto. Hi mate you are really a inspiration for Jeep loving people
Fantastic from top to back and front to bottom!
This is everything I wanted for my TJ before I sold it, now I have big dreams for my rubicon jk
Hmm I was thinking of one of thos 3.3 Cummins in a build, but now I might have to reassess the engine idea. I want to go diesel for torque and economy. Nice rig!!
Ford, Ram, VW, and Chevy parts all in a Jeep. That's cool!
nice Rig and nice job building it ....
Nice Tj and that’s a killer commando in he back ground
Truly built, not bought! Can't wait to get my own!
love the build! however if you were really looking to loose the weight you really don't need a full size spare when your offroading, especially in places like Moab and KOH where you literally have 300+ lbs of spare tire pulling you back down climbs and trying to pull the jeep every which way. Thanks man i love your jeep and the way you set it up. A true inspiration.
Joshua Poche thank you that's a huge compliment!
Next time you're in CO I would love to see this thing in person.
One of the most wicked tj’s I’ve seen. Props man
justin burkett thank you!
Nice looking rig!.... And at the end, sounds like my mom when she doesn't get to drive one of me or my brothers vehicles ... she would rather drive'em then be a passenger
Absolutely amazing love it again inspiring to see would love to see more of this tj in action and build ups bring it on
Yeah 40s are big for a Dana 44. But I've run 37s on a locked hp Dana 30. Never broke anything, but I'm not heavy on the throttle.
Gotta love the tank traps @ Elbe---Whoo Hooo!!!
I wanna see more of this TJ!!
Definitely a NICE TJ Nate!! Been looking at doing a tdi swap on my XJ myself. Cant wait to see more videos of it so keep up the good work
Finally! I’ve been seeing that Tj in your vids for awhile. Great vids man!
Justin Olivier thank you very much! I'm glad you're enjoying them
Haha, the 'Woo Hoo' by mom was hilarious! great video man!
Very sharp ride Nate. I'm very very impressed with your rear axle !
D Leighton Thanks! The rear axle was a big project! I'm just thankful it works
Absolutely incredible build bro!!
Very nice tj. I love that allot of home made!
Sweet build, Nate!
Digging the TJ videos
Matt you keep adding great people to the channel
One of only two channels on UA-cam I support with my own $$

Great rig! Thanks for all the details. It seems super capable - awesome job building it! 👍
Sounds like mom dug the log crawl haha.... keep up the good work!
Dhane Friedman she had a blast! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

Great job, man. Your fab skills are sooo good.
Love that rig! Cool video man and respect for how you build all that stuff!
Love what you did with your jeep especially all you fabricated yourself awesome
TJ FTW! Nice rig.
This thing is dope! Dream Jeep

Love the videos, Nate! Keep it up and looking forward to your J10 Diesel videos
Erik Plumley lots more j10 videos to look forward to! Hopefully running soon!
Looking good man. Well done
I love it! Great build.
Love your videos man! I'm not a TJ guy, but man, yours is sweet!!
Excellent build!! Thanks for sharing!!!
This is an amazing build! Nice Job 🙂
Bro sick and nice build man and shoutout to TDI GANG!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
nice video and guest appearance
If you ever come out to Elbe i would love to bring out my long arm tj to play. Awesome jeep
