- Today's video is on why the lore in the #roblox game #deepwoken makes absolutely no sense and some of the dumb stuff in this game that I think is funny. About the water attunement, i belive the reasoning in the lore for it not being there is because some powerful dude had a broken bell and removed it from the song or something like that
I confirm, I was the ocean
First reason: instruments. You dumb fr, these are simple instruments, not songchanted and you can't chant them, cause you are weakling and not a God.
Second about shroom race. You can go just delete yourself for that, go play rogue if you want that poop in dw.
About yunshul wish was actually funny, you can't wish that, cause not every wish can be done, he has limits too.
About water is not playable because it is powerful enough to create new tides and sink dw world.
Also your knowledge about sinking of celtor city and tides amusingly close to zero.

the instruments thing is a somewhat valid argument, but i have 2 different explanations
1. in one of the lore books, a bard accidentally sets their violin on fire at the start of the canticlysm by using the song. if we focus on not channeling any actual ether into it, we can play instruments normally
2. what naktigonis says goes (he literally creates the song)
about ironsing. think about how convoluted some of the mantras for ironsing are, and you'll start to realize why it's more industrial
you're completely, 100% missing the actual lore of celtor's drowning. sure, they were a greedy city, but it was the ministry intentionally overusing the song to sacrifice the island to yun'shul, they just chose that island because it was big and it was corrupt.
it isn't the tides that make decisions, it's the drowned gods like yun'shul that control the tides. it wasn't a big wave that took celtor, it was the celtorian horror, a gigantic sea monster that swallowed the island and dragged it to the first layer
yes, you can absolutely overuse the song, that's why we can only use small mantras of it instead of just chanting it for a minute straight and causing huge destruction with the song
the mecha sharkos are ignition union, not hive
the reason the hive is more advanced is because they've been focusing on ways to rise above the tides, not simply survive among them
plasma is the fusion of fire and lightning, like arcwarder

If yunshul controls the tides why cant we just use WATER that isn't controlled by Yunshul? Or Is every single piece of water connected to yunshul. +, Why can we just normally swim In water? that has never made sense to me either. also, yes you can (In game) chant mantras for a minute straight. not create huge destruction with it but you sure can chant it for a bit. + I find it hard to believe The strongest mages In deepwoken struggle to make long chantings with the song, hence why the whole creation of the song is fucking stupid.

1. every attunement is conjured from ether. do you think they make flames by just... thinking warm thoughts? they make tornadoes appear by breathing? they make lightning strikes at will by rubbing two balloons together? the storm blades description literally says "Conjure weapons of thunder with your ether."
2. you're literally proving my point by acknowledging that there are people without the song in them. seriously, what were you thinking?
3. instruments are stated NOWHERE to be nukes. the one instance we have of a normal instrument causing a magic effect is a single violin catching on fire. that's it. the reason bells are powerful is because it's your soul perfectly aligning with the song itself.
4. the ironsing complaint isn't even about lore, it's about game balance. getting several metal rods stuck in you and pulled out over and over will definitely kill you
5. all water is controlled by yun'shul. there is no 'water that isn't controlled by the drowned god that controls water.' also, there's a big difference between swimming in water and trying to waterbend.
6. no, you can't. you can say individual mantras, but those take up to ~7 seconds at max to cast (flame ballista), not a whole minute for a single spell.
7. they don't struggle with it, everyone just knows that if they overuse the song, the gods will punish them

One solution to most of your problems with the song. The song has to be played/channeled through a perfect pitch or frequency to get its power. Too much discordance would ruin the song’s effects heavily.

the song doesnt work as simply as enchanting something and making it one with the song, its not just sound, your soul resonates with the song which pshycally manifest into an instrument (a bell) you cannot just force the flow of the song into an object with enchamts, not only that but you're applying part of the song when putting it into an enchant (i believe) so it wouldnt make sense if you could control the song by just putting an enchant into smth

A second theory i have is that for what ever reson, controling liquids with the song could be really hard for some reson, which is why chaser needs so mutch blood around him in order to use it, as well as becoming weak unstable when those jars are broken, keep in mind blood is only a semi-solid, chaser also decides to stay in later 2 where the song is mutch more prevelent even though it dangerus as hell

a little correction, its not that water bending doesnt exist, its just that (of possible) doing so is counter productive to what 90% of the population wants and so would be a pretty underground thing that could get you killed for knowing, on that matter a bunch of people using people using a water attument could possibly be what its refuring to when the lore talks about when the lore talks about the flood being caused by the over use of the song and or fully controled and only taught by people deep in the ministry, although i do agree that people should stop making such a fuss about shit like instraments being in the game

People who say “ohhh instruments would let you call six notes of the song” fundamentally miss-understand how the song in deepwokens world as a system(which is incredibly washy with how it was written admittedly). Sure if a drowned gods were to start a band they’d be able to use that many notes of the song (they literally control it as their birthright) but if you were a normal goon trying to use a guitar this flat out just wouldn’t happen, the bell is literally your soul’s resonance with the song taking physical form as a bell
hence letting you play a single note of the song. Picking up an average run of the mill instrument is not gonna let you channel several notes if the song at once, that’s dumb. You will not be able to play six notes of the song no matter the tool you use if your soul isn’t that goated with the sauce the argument that a guitar just LETS someone call forth massive meteor is crazy, etris would just send one guy with a guitar into central luminant and hit the second tower

@@Reaconteur we only know that water is commonly associated with drowning things as a sacrifice to yun shul, you can just guess that because yun shul is the most present drowned god and his communication is mainly through the depths he just naturally has a control over the water, like ethiron naturally acts as the force behind the hurricane and wind of layer 2 despite not being awake
(edit) could honestly make a bet that since depths was described as an organism processing people and things in it that yun shul essentially embodies the waters and is the thing that processes people going through it and dying etc.

honestly everything is spot on except for the tide bending and frost draw. frost draw just is stated to conjure ice or just create ice by freezing stuff, however it does not state what kind of ice it creates. meaning that it could just be referring to frostdraw being able to freeze the air around it to conjure structures of ice. basically, im just saying that frost draw ice dosent just have to be frozen water it could be something like dry ice

The thing about Ironsing is lore-wise, there has to be metal around the Ironsing user for them to be able to use any mantras. No metal = no mantras. They changed that for gameplay purposes though when they released the attunement, so the devs are willing to bend the lore a little to help the game
the last time i dm'd arch_mage was back during the last year of TTV. i asked if he needed anyone to help program, but he actually said he needed someone to make music. i think i wrote that i'd think about it, but never responded because i actually never learned how to make music.

1. To be fair, that's the equivalent of a nerf gun. You're not using magical song instruments, you're just using some handmade instruments put together.
1.5 BRO, you can't just enchant an instrument and cause it to be an instrument of the song. If laplace could make basic drums into song imbued drums, hive would literally STOMP over the world of deepwoken. Enchants aren't pure song bro.
2. You can't ask Yun Shul to wake up goofball, you NEVER talk to Yun Shul, to talk to a shrine that functions as a telephone between his power and you, the Yun Shul shrine doesn't grant ANYTHING, but that logic we can ask him to make us into god.
3. Frostdraw isn't frozen water, it's temperature decreasing, there is ice that exists that isn't water aswell, one example is dry ice.
1.1 Noise doesn't immediatly mean it's magical song, the deepwoken magic song isn't just noise.
4. This is the part of deepwoken where the devs DID bend the lore for gameplay purposes, ironsing users actually need metals to use their magic, but for gameplay reasons we just summon metal instead of needing to carry it.
5. Brother there's no mystery to the game if we have all the answers, we don't know how the Ministry sinks islands.
6. Lorewise the depths is meant to be scary, getting sent down to depths is meant to be alot scarier and not just a cheat code, nobody is meant to have the knowledge of like 600 other past dudes. Every single character we make we're meant to have the knowledge of a new player.
One thing I can agree with you is that deepwoken doesn't have a consistent source where the lore actually comes from, 99% of the time Arch Mage is gonna be right since he has a lore document, but there's no good consistent source for normal players.

i just assumed instruments that played more than one note did nothing because its less a physical note having power more your character resonating with a part of the song and the bell just activates/focuses the resonation so any other note wouldnt do anything? like a tuning fork
I know this is a silly video, but it’s really a shame how dysfunctional the lore is because of how immersive the game is. It feels like the worldbuilding is a major part of the game, and then 80% of the lore is exclusively found in random discord messages archmage sends.

Just seeing this, I feel like the argument that "adding instruments is against the lore" is STUPID. Not because the meaning behind it is dumb, but because its just looking negatively on it. Imagine if (now that we have instruments) we MAY in the future see an oath of some sort that is related to music? the fact that magic is channeled THROUGH the song doesn't mean that the opposite is true. I think it makes more sense to say that just like you can channel your energy through your weapon (mantras or some mechanics like how your weapon glows on gale lunge), if you were to channel your energy through an INSTRUMENT, which is more COMPATABLE WITH THE SONG, you'll be able to produce stronger, more powerful sounds. I do agree that deepwoken lore has some interesting basis but lack of organization. and in the end of the day, I think what's important is that lore isn't being spoon fed to us and that we actually have to go and gather the pieces for the entire puzzle. also another thing that doesn't make sense, silenthearts being able to drown. i'm a silentheart main right and yes i still drown but people started drowning because they abused the song, while our motto is literally to get revenge on those who overused the song and made the tides happen, we refuse to make any use of the song so why do we still drown??? i'm not complaining i mean i get to not instantly die but it just doesn't make sense

I want a light attunement. I don't care if it's impossible or something or if it's lore inaccurate. We. Have. Shadowcast. Why can't we get a lightsing or smth?. Just so it would be an opposite of shadowcast. And if they add it eventually I want to see a talent that reduces the damage of shadowcast or buffs it against a shadowcasters (I just want to annoy them at this point).
Also if any of you have ideas about what they want to be added you can share them (I just want to see what other people want).
the "Song" it's just a different way to say magic. Because like the game, all their devs looks like they're living at the time where Jesus was passing through Gallileia or something. So they don't want to use the word "magic" cuz it's unoriginal and outdated for the game's era or some shit.

Oh yeah let's not forget they haven't actually added the most important lore npcs/characters since the faction with the most connections towards the entire lore of the game and the reason everything is going down in the first place barely has any lore. I'm talking about the voidwalker race (Yes it's actually a race they are called voidspawns.) The knives of eylis, and the ministry. Also last but not least it isn't really mentioned but felinors are naturally intelligently superior than every other race to the point they were the ones who made most of the weapons, equipment, hell even attunements you find and use in game and the whole reason every race canonically hates felinors (Yes they actually do canonically hate felinors) is because one family called the Calicos aka the black cat variant calicos were the cause of the tides or something, let's not forget two calico members Aelita Calico (Shown in game at the top of ministrya as a phantom illusion) and her brother are voidwalkers with her brother being able to manipulate time.
Yeah deepwoken lore is pretty all over the place, I mean with all the time manipulating bs with amoorus pleetsky being a normal mortal then becoming a drowned god, then appearently spreading a religion to chaser killing off everyone in his squad because a voice from a prophet in the ministry told him to. Yeah I don't really know man.
So true anyway chabge the lore and make gran suda equipable by contractor I had a banger character and lore for a contractor in the outfit planner only to find out its not equipable.
Like yall could change the lore to whatever on gran suda, orrr keep it the same and still allow contractors to utilize it with maybe a unique crit to accomodate for the fact that gran suda fucking hates you but has no choice but to aid you, changing up how ahe reacts/ helps you. idk bruh i dont wanna use hero blades no more 😭😭😭😭

Its because the first prophet is a deepwoken or aka a Demi god who has the power of a drowned god of shadow or smth like that and he was alive for over one thousand years, I am pretty sure someone like that who transcends logic of the average player can cause a drowning of a whole island

If i'm not mistaken about how the layers and dying works, then it kinda functions similar to a bunch of cheese graters stacked on top of each other. You start descending so quickly that your soul gets shredded into its most basic featureless form and you die.

Ermm actually water and ice does not have the same density because ice particles are closer to each other and therefore there is more ice particles in one area than water particles and density is volume devided by mass therefore it is not the same 2:53

shadow cast should never existed and water attunement should of took its place it makes sense that the "drowned gods living in a water dimension and controlling water should of meant that water attunement should have be the forbidden attunement and not shadow cast the only reason why i think they went with shadow is that shadow looks cooler and black water mantras would look weird
iirc the reason water magic isn't possible is because its the strongest attunement in the lore, and only extremely powerful beings have the ability to use it. We play as mortal beings that arent strong enough to manipulate it, and even if you did learn it a requirement of it is to be completely insane and lose your humanity. As for the ice attunement argument, yeah thats fair.

i mean i still want to learn more about it. Its not complete maybe it isnt supposed to. i just think that its cool that the game has lore but it really should get more context on what the song is or how it works to begin with because it basically sounds like Ki but music
