Honestly, even though he didn't nail all of those dunks, still, the best ever! Those are some of the hardest dunks ever! 360 arm in the rim!? Are you kidding?
@@manoffaith6952 nah he's literally already forgotten about. Only a couple of his dunks were remembered and they don't really put any significance on ghem other than saying they were great dunk contest dunks; when he really pulled off the hardest to land dunks pre zach lavine.
The "You can get some 3D glasses and it still ain't as good as Dominique Wilkins" is a classic. I still use the 3D glasses term and it cracks people up.
Absolutely. Jason Richardson was competing against himself and the all-time greats and greats to come. He could have crushed Fred if he played it safe. Props to him for trying something different.
Vince Carter - G.O.A.T NBA Dunker Dominique Wilkins - Best Power NBA Dunker Michael Jordan - Most Graceful NBA Dunker Zach Lavine - Best One Legged NBA Dunker Jason Richardson - Best Technical NBA Dunker Dr. J - Best to ever start Dunk creativity in the NBA Spudd Webb - Best Shortest NBA Dunker Aaron Gordon - Best bigman dunker to ever do one of the best dunks in a contest
Most underrated nba dunker of all time! The first and only person to throw it off the backboard and go between the legs! Then he tried to attempt a self lob 360 between the legs and then a 360 arm in the rim dunk....bruh J-rich was in the future! This was back in the early 2000s!
If he got that 360 between the legs & 360 honey dip. Definitely wouldve been the best dunk performance of all time. His previous year was already top 5 ..
Jason Richardson was the first to do that dunk off the glass under the legs.. I remember watching that live on TV everybody went nutts after that 1. he also did a 360 under the legs..
Definitely up there as the best “planned” dunk contest effort. Right next to Dwight, VC, and AG. Mad respect for trying that 360 honey dip at the end when he didn’t need to.
J-Rich had two mind blowing dunks in 3 contests. He also spent all year preparing for the dunk contest. Vince came up with everything on the spot and did it so much more effortlessly then J-Rich. If Vince was in three contest in a row and spent all year preparing, then he would have had way more nice dunks then J-Rich. And obviously Vince was a million times better at in game dunks
***** My god this was a stupid thing to say. Do you know why pro Dunker are WAY better then anyone in the NBA? Because they take all the time they need to PREPARE for their dunk contests. They spend time thinking up new dunks they can do and practice them. Vince just winged it and made everything up on the spot and J-Rich thought of and practiced his dunks. If you don't think preparation helps BIG TIME in any dunk contest (or anything really) you are an idiot
His two best dunks are the 2002 contest- 360 windmill 180 off the bounce 2003 contest- Between the legs off the side board left handed 1. Both dunks are variations of VC 2.The rest of the dunks in both competitions are trash , not counting all the missed attempts either I like J Rich, No way he was/is/better the VC. Its not close. Dont get me started on that shit show contest in 2004. J Rich lost to Fred Jones dude..........LOL Fred "fucking Jones. HaHa Also VC is rated exactly where he should be (GOAT)
What I noticed is that J rich did the exact same dunks in every competition he’s been in. All he has is the same two foot take off windmill and the same 360 dunk.
Richardson's hands are too small for some of these dunks so he missed. He is very creative though. He's a two legged leaper too so he's limited. Vince is the ultimate hybrid dunker which I think makes him the best. He can go vertical and horizontal. Richardson doesn't have a lot of in-game dunks which is a shame. All his good stuff is in contests. He does have a beautiful windmill and 360 form I believe. Jones esacaped this one but I also believe he deserved it. Sam Barlow FTW.
I appreciate jay rich for raising the bar..... ehh emm although many of the drinks that made it to the NBA came off the street. ANNNNNNNDDDDD 1 Ballislife And me DUNKGODNEVERDIE
If he would do 360 elbow Dunk, that would be the most ridiculous Dunk after the 360 from the free throw line from Zack Lavine! They both Missed! One was attempted at the Dunk contest, the other one was at practise!! Try The Impossible!
LOL. Some fans think JRich is better than VC in the slam dunk contest. Look at JRich dunks here and his 2 previous dunk performances. VC could no doubt do that in his sleep. JRich's off the bounce windmill and 360's? Vince already did in-game or does it in warmups/practice. VC destroys JRich in all aspects of dunking. If you'll notice JRich's most famous slam dunk off the bounce catch right hand and left hand dunk and most of his dunks was pure timing and no vertical and no hangtime in it. Although JRich would be next to VC in terms of creativity in the dunk contest but VC is the NBA's Greatest of all time Dunker.
Execution Critic could maybe but he never did them... Jerich looks way better than Vince... and I'm a huge Vince fan, but this smaller guy did some harder dunks with the same pizzazz Vince had back to back to back... can't beat that
What you talkin' bout JRich is smaller? they're both 6'6. VC just has more muscle. If you're a huge VC fan, you already know that JRich can't match VC in a contest and JRich dunks are warmups for VC. JRich can't even do a free throw line dunk, he's a weak one leg leaper.
His dunks were ahead of time for a decade.
Even for now, still not many people can do an off the glass between the leg.
Kenneth fairies and Derrick Jones did it
@@backpackerjohnny16 He said "not all"
Thhis dunk was sick. Even Lavine skip this dunk.
@@backpackerjohnny16 Jones's dunk great but not the same.
agree, the difficulty on that dunk is off the charts.
Man off the glass between the legs is just insane
Kenny: "That is the most incredible dunk I've ever seen."
Barkley: "You say that every year"
LMAO
MANCHESTER UNITED F.C who asked?
2022 he didn't say it this year lol
Honestly, even though he didn't nail all of those dunks, still, the best ever! Those are some of the hardest dunks ever! 360 arm in the rim!? Are you kidding?
+Alex Livschitz tbh I think he could pull those off but because the level of difficulty it's inconsistent
+Alex Livschitz Vc started that Honey dip (Arm in the rim)era
+Zgin weldzgan, pro dunkers were doing it before him...
+Mansa Musa He meant bring it to the NBA
Vince Olson, that's a good point.
Jason richardson is the most undderated dunker in nba history
think the issue why jrich gets overlooked was because most of his dunks took way too many tries.
Hes not underrated..maybe to people like you..but real ballers and fans rate him proper

Fred Jones was lucky to win that contest.

SHAWN KEMP has to be in the top5 til 8 dunkers
I agree that Kemp should be on this list as well as D Rose

1:06 I remember watching this and i was pissed to see this scrub Fred Jones win....That off the glass dunk was Impressive 🔥🔥
If he made all the dunks, that would have been one of the greatest dunk contest performance of all time
HE'S GOT DAH FLU
He should've win it. Even those misses are better than Jones' successful dunks.
3:48 RIP Chocolate Thunder.
Aaron Gordon's under both legs dunk is close but the off the back board, between the legs is still the best dunk of all-time.
Its not even J-Riches best dunk
Yup it is straight up the ultimate 50
"RIchardson, played for the Warriors!?"

Interesting he took a lot of lessons from Carter.
If he made that 3rd one... On the 1st try... Sheeesh.. Woulda been top 5 all time.. Including new age dunks...
IMO, arguably the greatest slam dunk ever...To this day, I have not seen anyone attempt/duplicate it.
Which dunk?
Seethi C off the glass between the legs
Nate Robinson tried it
plenty of people can do that, just not in the nba 😆
