I am glad you checked the original because indeed it's very integral to understand what Diana did here and the way she chose to hide her extremely recognisable unique voice. She continues to amaze people with her versatility through out this competition both in song and her interactions with the jury. She shows her acting skills to the fullest. I have good translations of the rest of her performances on this show with the proper context so even if you don't react to the full videos i suggest to take a look in case you have any questions about the translations on your own time, i am sure you are going to have as much fun as the rest of us. By the way i also include the original videos without the filters on the pinned comment in case you want to watch the clear versions but you can't use them on UA-cam because of the copyrights. @Kwstas_Vagias Oh, come on, you knew I would check the original, especially since everyone told me what Avatar was about. 😉 You're right, it was definitely integral to how she mislead everyone and she sure did a great job it seems. I actually wanted to take this one as well from your channel for my reaction, but it seems it was blocked at some point and then the translation + the description was somehow gone. The pinned comment on that one doesn't have the link to the original either - I expect you had many issues with it and I understand very well how hard you worked on them all and how tough this can be. Although, I would have skipped the conversations with the judges in my reactions, as you know.😂 The thumbnails you did really are 1st rate quality! However, the original video links help even more, because of the "branding" on this channel (namely my face on the left in each one), so my poor husband who set it up that way now has to deal with it. 🤣 I mean, when I started you were the first one to point that out to me and even make one for me! That really helped us build the graphics for the channel! @ The first one was an experiment and i didn't even had the time to do it, i didn't translate it either so i will come back to it and fix it but all the rest are good to go, everyone has the links to the originals in the pinned comment and the translations are triple checked. As for the thumbnails i can send you the high quality screenshots before i put any framing or letters on them but if your husband plans to take his own screenshot from the clean videos then that's cool too. @@AleksReacts First thank you for posting the link to Nadezhda Kadysheva (I had to use google translate to find the right song) I completely agree with you.Diana's low voice register was still coming through but that almost nasal sound that she used also helped disguise her voice. I am curious if what you mean by peasant folk song would be equivalent to American Country Style music or dare I say Hillbilly? (I know the latter has such a negative connotation).
Diana did a great job both choosing the "right voice to hide behind" and succeeded in its execution. I am not so sure that American Country style or Hillbilly would be comparable. Perhaps the first thing you'll notice is that the rhythm is very different and often sounds odd to non-Slavs, sometimes even confusing and hard to follow. Lots of cacophony is present as well. The entire Firebird series is exceptionally invigorating. Diana approached this kind of slightly crazy folklore, brimming with joy and fantasy, with all the spontaneity it required. It’s a wonderful achievement. Russia, with its countless regions, is obviously an inexhaustible reservoir of folk songs, offering singers the opportunity to travel and take us along to surprising destinations. I’ve already mentioned the young Alisa Supronova, who made a specialty of singing in various Slavic languages, but another young and exceptionally talented artist comes to mind, one nobody knows about : Milana Pavlova. She started her career sharing the same fate as Diana on The Voice Russia : being eliminated in the very first audition. So, a promising start, but unlike Diana, fame did not follow for Milana. It must be said that this young girl is not a fan of popular songs, but rather of folk songs from various regions and countries, which she arranges in a highly creative way. As a result, she appeals neither to Pop fans nor to folk music lovers who wonder why this young artist diverges so resolutely from the traditional path. Yet her voice is magnificent, her technique flawless, and her personality brilliant. In my opinion, Milana is a cursed artist. @continentzero7572 Diana's approach was right for so many reasons! She "hid" behind Nadezda's original because the song is not really Diana's style and she did it masterfully. I also enjoyed the way that she's having fun with the entire concept of the show. Though this isn't really a folk song, just written about 20-ish years ago in that style, you are very right - you cannot have only one style of music or even a single culture in such a vast land. It has to be a mix of so many different influences.😉 What amazes me more than the fact that you found Milana Pavlova is that you know the name of the song Akhoy though it is not even listed on the video, so even though there is no ❤️ next to either link, I've gone and added those to the list. It's a huge list, but still, I never know what I'll do next, so I might stumble upon her again as long as I have her there and maybe do a reaction at some point. @@AleksReacts If I didn’t leave a heart, it’s because you won’t get a single view with Milana. It’s disheartening, but it’s the reality. Sometimes I also refrain from leaving a heart, not because the video isn’t worth it, but because the risk of copyright blocks is significant (KBS in Korea, Hunan TV in China, HTB in Russia, etc.). For example, I have some concerns regarding Gong Shuang, who appears on Hunan TV. Sometimes it works, sometimes it gets blocked. That’s why I left Huang Xiao Yun’s duet with Wei Qing Qing as a backup plan, because there shouldn’t be any issues with that one. As the saying goes, "there are things hidden behind things."
I thought I'd get next to no views with both Varslavia and Ana Ivanovic, but I do know that some people who follow the channel are very open-minded and want to hear some new things from time to time. More importantly, I am thankful for that! It only means they are just the right people as out interests are in hearing good music, however popular or unknown it is. I thought the same with Mercedes Sosa or Koji Tamaki, but I simply HAD to hear the originals of those songs. So from time to time, my own interest and desire to share them will tank my views. I know that in advance, but if I am to be true to myself I have to do it on occasion. Every time I do that, yes, the views drop and yes, it makes sense to go back to more popular artists, but there is a reason for that as well - the more views the channel get the better the chance that someone will hear a new song they never heard before and like it. It is at least partly the purpose of all this... The blocking does happen and it's definitely insurmountable, so thank you for saving me from those. Work goes into the videos, sometimes research as well, and then a block kind of deflates my energy. On another note, when I say I do want to hear all or most by Lara or Diana, I really do. It's not only because they get views, it's because I want to hear it. It definitely helps that they get views, of course, but if that was my only motivation, my reactions would be really bad... So, sometimes, though admittedly not stupidly often, I'll tank my own views and maybe one of those times will be just right and a new artist will be noticed... THAT really would make me happy. At the same time, people also want to hear what they know and NOW. The balance between the two is impossible to make everyone happy, but it is what it is... So, I try to make myself happy, sometimes by fulfilling some else's wish, sometimes my own...

Greetings from Scotland! Hi Aleks! Throughout this contest Diana cleverly misdirected the judges by using vocal styles that she is not known for and using a higher pitch than would be normal for her. Also, she picked songs that the judges would listen to more than they listen to the person singing it - it worked spectacularly well! When speaking to the judges she also used phrases and words that she would not usually use, a clever plan - clever young lady! I have to say that I watched all the performances as they were broadcast and after listening to the many performances one after another, I was totally convinced that Diana was NOT on the show at all - until the penultimate show where I heard just a hint of her! I was so glad that she got to the finale and then won! Hoping you and you family are all happy and healthy, big warm hugs from chilly Scotland! 😊🤗
Hello dear Peter! The first tactic was something I'd guess, but the second is a very smart misdirection. It's easy for me to say I could have guessed or not, now that I already know it's her. Though it does take some of the fun out of it, still it sounds like her performances in this show should not be missed. Also, watching Diana, it seems like she sure know how to have fun herself. Btw, it's freezing here as well. We scraped frost from our windshield in the middle of the day and it was kind of slippery coming out of the building. @@AleksReacts Ah, I have the same problem! I can't sit out in direct sunshine (I was a redhead with fair skin) but I love warm temperatures. I like to be able to walk around in my home in a t-shirt and jeans, NOT a fur coat! 😂 normally 22C is good for me. When we get our new central heating installation on Wednesday I can finally (hopefully) have the whole house at 22C regardless how cold it is outside! I'll let you know by next weekend!.....

The most important part of the show is watching the judges try to guess the performer behind the avatar. And then it's interesting to watch your reaction not only to the performer, but also to the decisions and disputes of the judges. Therefore, please choose long videos from other UA-camrs.
I don't usually focus on that, it's more about the music for me, but with this show it might be the right approach even for me. Kostas was kind enough, as always when it comes to Diana to prepare a full set of videos from this show, helping us reactors immensely. So I will give that approach a try in this particular case.

Your comments about what you call "peasant singing" or the style of singing in several countries in the region. That really helped me understand this much better.
Thank you! I had so much fun I was worried I wasn't making any sense. 😂 It seems it IS similar to traditional Russian music, just a bit more modernized. That "peasant singing" can really sound wonderful in a choir - I've heard some examples over the years from almost every Slavic country. It can occasionally hit you like a truck in a really good way. I guess you have that in Aurora and Wardruna only in a different style - that kick in the head from a harmony or a tone that comes from the depths of the Earth. Btw, Eivør with Trøllabundin is on my list for February to check out. I've been told that's "ancient folk music", so we'll get to compare the feeling. ❤️
@@AleksReacts You were making sense, no worries :) I think you're gonna love Eivør - I hope you are going to do the live performance from Norway :) She is from The Faroe Islands, but this style of music reminds me a lot about Norwegian traditional sounds. I absolutely love her singing. I thought she was from Iceland before, to be honest, judging from her name. The Faroe Islands are Danish, but when it comes to our heritage, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland have a lot in common, including some musical roots, as well as language.
I think I will be looking at a live performance. I found one called "Eivør Pálsdóttir: Tròdlabùndin (Trøllabundin) - 10.08.13", so I was going to go with that one... seems very much in tune with nature just based on the thumbnail. As for the connections among the countries you listed, I may not be much of a history connoisseur, but that's kind of "Elementary, my dear Watson", though I admit I'd never remember to include The Faroe Islands even though somewhere at the back of my mind I have a bit of a clue. 😉

I certain Greek Captain hinted that Diana might be one of the hidden Avatars on this show, so even though it was blocked on YT I found all the clips online. It was so fun to look for Diana (and hard to find her). Episodes 4 and 5 gave some hints. I got goosebumps from the 4th performance and somehow she is the only vocalist who's voice can hit me like that regularly. Then later episodes she threw everyone off again. I listen to her so much and am so familiar with her voice that I was able to pick out how certain vowels were pronounced and even how she took in breaths. By the end I was thoroughly convinced she was the Fire Bird. But man it was fun to see the reveal and her final performance without the Avatar. The judges were completely dumbfounded and shocked. Going through all the episodes is so fun. Enjoy the ride.

There are 9 more I think from this show and this one was really fun to watch, and now that I'm more clear on the meaning of lyrics also fun to dance around to. It sounds like an interesting show, too, so there will more. She seems to have covered Yma Sumac, which from what my dad told me about Yma is a bit unbelievable, but we'll see. Love to Norway! ❤️❤️❤️
👉 That is the third season of AVATAR in 2024. What a gift from Diana to us, her friends: 10 songs and a unique, fabulous Diana disguised as a Phoenix or Firebird! Diana simply blew everyone away on the Avatar show with her singing and fooled everyone in each of the 9 episodes. Diana won this show, misleading everyone until the very end, not a single judge could figure out who was hiding behind the avatar of the Firebird/ Phoenix! She really masters every genre and proves that she can sing opera, folk, rock and pop. A true vocal chameleon, she produces any vocal color she wants. The outstanding background voices are also sung by Diana. Her skills transcend all boundaries and of course she won at the end of the show. I think it's absolutely necessary to listen to the original version of the songs. This makes you appreciate all the more the masterpieces Diana creates with her interpretation. By the way, in fact, even the singer's facial expressions are transferred to the avatar (watch behind the scenes). Congratulations Diana! I am sure that Diana will also speak and, above all, sing for many animated films in the future and I hope to see her on the big stages of the world soon. The song is not about a funeral wreath for the deceased. On Ivan Kupala Day, an ancient Slavic holiday, girls would make wreaths of herbs and in the evening they would throw them into the water, watching how and where they would float. If the wreath sank, it meant that the betrothed had fallen out of love and you would not marry him.
I never thought it was a funeral wreath for the deceased. Perhaps something is getting lost in translation. Sorry about that. I thought it was a wedding wreath, except that she did not want to marry the man chosen for her, but that she loves another. Sounds like that is not the case either, although I do not understand why she would say "I will not tie the knot, no matter who is wrong or who is right". The custom you've described does explain why she's sending a wreath downriver though, but does the "I will not tie the knot" now mean that hers has sunk? Then again, she never says that either. I'd really like to understand the full meaning of the lyrics. Thank you!

The girl wove a wreath, let it float on the water trying to discern something in the dark water, which reflects the empty sky. The river in Slavic mythology is a symbol of life, change and the flow of time. Under the image of the river, its flow, metaphors of the path of life were depicted, and their manifestations in the constantly changing fickle nature, in human experience. The lines of the song: "I will not tie a knot, no matter who is wrong, who is right" - this is a custom of tying knots as a keepsake, usually on your handkerchief, so that the knot reminds you that you need to remember and not forget. Probably the girl does not have very good memories of the relationship with her loved one, but she does not want to remember the bad "tie knots" forgiving everything to her loved one. I understand this song as a girl's fortune telling about her future relationship with her beloved man, whom she broke up with. But she loves him and wants to get him back, so she turns to the forces of nature trying to get an answer from them. 😊
Hmm, that is an interesting take as it would explain as to why "her happiness" is in the water, but not (yet) in the sky / "in her stars". Then again, based on all you've said, maybe she's just joyful thinking about her current love? Simply participating in the custom and until she sees the wreath either float or sink, she will "tie no knots". That would explain the happy melody that accompanies the lyrics. I do know some of the symbolisms of the river/water, but I do not know of wreaths being used in that context, though I am Slavic. In Serbia, women used to do needlepoint with some message or an image to their love. Did they weave wreaths of flowers I'm not sure... They would wear them as a headdress for weddings and other joyful occasions though... Handkerchiefs were usually given to their love, rather than knotted as a keepsake (again, to the extent that I heave heard, I did not study this)... The music and the lyrics of the song directly affect a person's feelings and emotions, and are not subject to logical proof or reasoned analysis. You either accept the song on an emotional level or you don't. No one knows why some people like the same song and others don't. The knots were tied on the NOSE scarves that are in a pocket or a woman's purse, and not on those that cover the head. 🙂

I am not so sure that she didn't use it for this song, as there are varied forms of the "folk" voice. It's not the same in Bulgaria, Russia, Slovkia, Serbia, etc. and it's not the same in each region or even in each song. In Плывёт Веночек / Floating Wreath it does resemble the "folk" voice, but the song seems to be more recent, so it is partly adjusted to a more "modern" sound too. I'm not an expert, so I could be wrong, but then again the sound is very familiar. 😊

I actually wanted to take this one as well from your channel for my reaction, but it seems it was blocked at some point and then the translation + the description was somehow gone. @@AleksReacts First thank you for posting the link to Nadezhda Kadysheva (I had to use google translate to find the right song) I completely agree with you.Diana's low voice register was still coming through but that almost nasal sound that she used also helped disguise her voice. I am curious if what you mean by peasant folk song would be equivalent to American Country Style music or dare I say Hillbilly? (I know the latter has such a negative connotation).
Diana did a great job both choosing the "right voice to hide behind" and succeeded in its execution.
I am not so sure that American Country style or Hillbilly would be comparable.
Perhaps the first thing you'll notice is that the rhythm is very different and often sounds odd to non-Slavs, sometimes even confusing and hard to follow. Lots of cacophony is present as well.

The entire Firebird series is exceptionally invigorating. Diana approached this kind of slightly crazy folklore, brimming with joy and fantasy, with all the spontaneity it required. It’s a wonderful achievement. Russia, with its countless regions, is obviously an inexhaustible reservoir of folk songs, offering singers the opportunity to travel and take us along to surprising destinations.
I’ve already mentioned the young Alisa Supronova, who made a specialty of singing in various Slavic languages, but another young and exceptionally talented artist comes to mind, one nobody knows about : Milana Pavlova. She started her career sharing the same fate as Diana on The Voice Russia : being eliminated in the very first audition. So, a promising start, but unlike Diana, fame did not follow for Milana.
It must be said that this young girl is not a fan of popular songs, but rather of folk songs from various regions and countries, which she arranges in a highly creative way. As a result, she appeals neither to Pop fans nor to folk music lovers who wonder why this young artist diverges so resolutely from the traditional path. Yet her voice is magnificent, her technique flawless, and her personality brilliant. In my opinion, Milana is a cursed artist.

@continentzero7572 Diana's approach was right for so many reasons! She "hid" behind Nadezda's original because the song is not really Diana's style and she did it masterfully. I also enjoyed the way that she's having fun with the entire concept of the show. Though this isn't really a folk song, just written about 20-ish years ago in that style, you are very right - you cannot have only one style of music or even a single culture in such a vast land. It has to be a mix of so many different influences.😉
What amazes me more than the fact that you found Milana Pavlova is that you know the name of the song Akhoy though it is not even listed on the video, so even though there is no ❤️ next to either link, I've gone and added those to the list. It's a huge list, but still, I never know what I'll do next, so I might stumble upon her again as long as I have her there and maybe do a reaction at some point.

Sometimes I also refrain from leaving a heart, not because the video isn’t worth it, but because the risk of copyright blocks is significant (KBS in Korea, Hunan TV in China, HTB in Russia, etc.). For example, I have some concerns regarding Gong Shuang, who appears on Hunan TV. Sometimes it works, sometimes it gets blocked. That’s why I left Huang Xiao Yun’s duet with Wei Qing Qing as a backup plan, because there shouldn’t be any issues with that one. As the saying goes, "there are things hidden behind things."
I thought I'd get next to no views with both Varslavia and Ana Ivanovic, but I do know that some people who follow the channel are very open-minded and want to hear some new things from time to time. More importantly, I am thankful for that! It only means they are just the right people as out interests are in hearing good music, however popular or unknown it is.
I thought the same with Mercedes Sosa or Koji Tamaki, but I simply HAD to hear the originals of those songs. So from time to time, my own interest and desire to share them will tank my views. I know that in advance, but if I am to be true to myself I have to do it on occasion.
Every time I do that, yes, the views drop and yes, it makes sense to go back to more popular artists, but there is a reason for that as well - the more views the channel get the better the chance that someone will hear a new song they never heard before and like it. It is at least partly the purpose of all this...
The blocking does happen and it's definitely insurmountable, so thank you for saving me from those. Work goes into the videos, sometimes research as well, and then a block kind of deflates my energy.
On another note, when I say I do want to hear all or most by Lara or Diana, I really do. It's not only because they get views, it's because I want to hear it. It definitely helps that they get views, of course, but if that was my only motivation, my reactions would be really bad... So, sometimes, though admittedly not stupidly often, I'll tank my own views and maybe one of those times will be just right and a new artist will be noticed... THAT really would make me happy.
At the same time, people also want to hear what they know and NOW. The balance between the two is impossible to make everyone happy, but it is what it is... So, I try to make myself happy, sometimes by fulfilling some else's wish, sometimes my own...

Greetings from Scotland! Hi Aleks! Throughout this contest Diana cleverly misdirected the judges by using vocal styles that she is not known for and using a higher pitch than would be normal for her. Also, she picked songs that the judges would listen to more than they listen to the person singing it - it worked spectacularly well! When speaking to the judges she also used phrases and words that she would not usually use, a clever plan - clever young lady! I have to say that I watched all the performances as they were broadcast and after listening to the many performances one after another, I was totally convinced that Diana was NOT on the show at all - until the penultimate show where I heard just a hint of her! I was so glad that she got to the finale and then won! Hoping you and you family are all happy and healthy, big warm hugs from chilly Scotland! 😊🤗
Hello dear Peter! The first tactic was something I'd guess, but the second is a very smart misdirection. It's easy for me to say I could have guessed or not, now that I already know it's her. Though it does take some of the fun out of it, still it sounds like her performances in this show should not be missed. Also, watching Diana, it seems like she sure know how to have fun herself. Btw, it's freezing here as well. We scraped frost from our windshield in the middle of the day and it was kind of slippery coming out of the building. I like to be able to walk around in my home in a t-shirt and jeans, NOT a fur coat! 😂 normally 22C is good for me. When we get our new central heating installation on Wednesday I can finally (hopefully) have the whole house at 22C regardless how cold it is outside! I'll let you know by next weekend!.....

The most important part of the show is watching the judges try to guess the performer behind the avatar. And then it's interesting to watch your reaction not only to the performer, but also to the decisions and disputes of the judges. Therefore, please choose long videos from other UA-camrs.
I don't usually focus on that, it's more about the music for me, but with this show it might be the right approach even for me. Kostas was kind enough, as always when it comes to Diana to prepare a full set of videos from this show, helping us reactors immensely. So I will give that approach a try in this particular case.

Your comments about what you call "peasant singing" or the style of singing in several countries in the region. That really helped me understand this much better.
Thank you! I had so much fun I was worried I wasn't making any sense. 😂 It seems it IS similar to traditional Russian music, just a bit more modernized. That "peasant singing" can really sound wonderful in a choir - I've heard some examples over the years from almost every Slavic country. It can occasionally hit you like a truck in a really good way. I guess you have that in Aurora and Wardruna only in a different style - that kick in the head from a harmony or a tone that comes from the depths of the Earth. Btw, Eivør with Trøllabundin is on my list for February to check out. I've been told that's "ancient folk music", so we'll get to compare the feeling. ❤️

I think you're gonna love Eivør - I hope you are going to do the live performance from Norway :) She is from The Faroe Islands, but this style of music reminds me a lot about Norwegian traditional sounds. I absolutely love her singing. I thought she was from Iceland before, to be honest, judging from her name. The Faroe Islands are Danish, but when it comes to our heritage, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland have a lot in common, including some musical roots, as well as language.
I think I will be looking at a live performance. I found one called "Eivør Pálsdóttir: Tròdlabùndin (Trøllabundin) - 10.08.13", so I was going to go with that one... seems very much in tune with nature just based on the thumbnail.
As for the connections among the countries you listed, I may not be much of a history connoisseur, but that's kind of "Elementary, my dear Watson", though I admit I'd never remember to include The Faroe Islands even though somewhere at the back of my mind I have a bit of a clue. 😉

I certain Greek Captain hinted that Diana might be one of the hidden Avatars on this show, so even though it was blocked on YT I found all the clips online. It was so fun to look for Diana (and hard to find her). Episodes 4 and 5 gave some hints. I got goosebumps from the 4th performance and somehow she is the only vocalist who's voice can hit me like that regularly. Then later episodes she threw everyone off again. I listen to her so much and am so familiar with her voice that I was able to pick out how certain vowels were pronounced and even how she took in breaths. By the end I was thoroughly convinced she was the Fire Bird. But man it was fun to see the reveal and her final performance without the Avatar. The judges were completely dumbfounded and shocked. Going through all the episodes is so fun. Enjoy the ride.

👉 That is the third season of AVATAR in 2024. What a gift from Diana to us, her friends: 10 songs and a unique, fabulous Diana disguised as a Phoenix or Firebird!
Diana simply blew everyone away on the Avatar show with her singing and fooled everyone in each of the 9 episodes. Diana won this show, misleading everyone until the very end, not a single judge could figure out who was hiding behind the avatar of the Firebird/ Phoenix! She really masters every genre and proves that she can sing opera, folk, rock and pop. A true vocal chameleon, she produces any vocal color she wants. The outstanding background voices are also sung by Diana.
Her skills transcend all boundaries and of course she won at the end of the show. I think it's absolutely necessary to listen to the original version of the songs. This makes you appreciate all the more the masterpieces Diana creates with her interpretation. By the way, in fact, even the singer's facial expressions are transferred to the avatar (watch behind the scenes). Congratulations Diana! I am sure that Diana will also speak and, above all, sing for many animated films in the future and I hope to see her on the big stages of the world soon.

The song is not about a funeral wreath for the deceased. On Ivan Kupala Day, an ancient Slavic holiday, girls would make wreaths of herbs and in the evening they would throw them into the water, watching how and where they would float. If the wreath sank, it meant that the betrothed had fallen out of love and you would not marry him.
I never thought it was a funeral wreath for the deceased. Perhaps something is getting lost in translation. Sorry about that.
I thought it was a wedding wreath, except that she did not want to marry the man chosen for her, but that she loves another. Sounds like that is not the case either, although I do not understand why she would say "I will not tie the knot, no matter who is wrong or who is right". The custom you've described does explain why she's sending a wreath downriver though, but does the "I will not tie the knot" now mean that hers has sunk? Then again, she never says that either. I'd really like to understand the full meaning of the lyrics. Thank you!
@@AleksReacts, In Slavic courtship rituals of lovers, girls wove wreaths for their loved ones, as a symbol of their chosen one. The girl wove a wreath, let it float on the water trying to discern something in the dark water, which reflects the empty sky. The river in Slavic mythology is a symbol of life, change and the flow of time. Under the image of the river, its flow, metaphors of the path of life were depicted, and their manifestations in the constantly changing fickle nature, in human experience. The lines of the song: "I will not tie a knot, no matter who is wrong, who is right" - this is a custom of tying knots as a keepsake, usually on your handkerchief, so that the knot reminds you that you need to remember and not forget. Probably the girl does not have very good memories of the relationship with her loved one, but she does not want to remember the bad "tie knots" forgiving everything to her loved one. I understand this song as a girl's fortune telling about her future relationship with her beloved man, whom she broke up with. But she loves him and wants to get him back, so she turns to the forces of nature trying to get an answer from them. 😊
Hmm, that is an interesting take as it would explain as to why "her happiness" is in the water, but not (yet) in the sky / "in her stars". Then again, based on all you've said, maybe she's just joyful thinking about her current love? Simply participating in the custom and until she sees the wreath either float or sink, she will "tie no knots". That would explain the happy melody that accompanies the lyrics.
I do know some of the symbolisms of the river/water, but I do not know of wreaths being used in that context, though I am Slavic. In Serbia, women used to do needlepoint with some message or an image to their love. Did they weave wreaths of flowers I'm not sure... They would wear them as a headdress for weddings and other joyful occasions though... Handkerchiefs were usually given to their love, rather than knotted as a keepsake (again, to the extent that I heave heard, I did not study this)... The music and the lyrics of the song directly affect a person's feelings and emotions, and are not subject to logical proof or reasoned analysis. You either accept the song on an emotional level or you don't. No one knows why some people like the same song and others don't.
The knots were tied on the NOSE scarves that are in a pocket or a woman's purse, and not on those that cover the head. 🙂

The clip was interesting and yes, both her highs and lows in it are versions of the "folk" voice.
I am not so sure that she didn't use it for this song, as there are varied forms of the "folk" voice. It's not the same in Bulgaria, Russia, Slovkia, Serbia, etc. and it's not the same in each region or even in each song. In Плывёт Веночек / Floating Wreath it does resemble the "folk" voice, but the song seems to be more recent, so it is partly adjusted to a more "modern" sound too.
I'm not an expert, so I could be wrong, but then again the sound is very familiar. 😊

It's only the first one I've heard and I will try to add another slot for Diana's Avatar show performances. I really liked this one, can't yet tell about the others. What I'm not a fan of is the avatar itself, it's a bit distracting... I am looking forward to see what else she did to "hide" her voice and if some of it will still come through.
