This clearly illustrates the difference between fiction and reality, matter travelling faster than the speed of light, unbelievable. I worked on the building of CERN (architecture) in the late 50's and was always fascinated by the unlimited possibilities ! But after all, everything is just the realization of all things existing already ... there is only realization and therefore the willing or unwilling acknowledgement of God

I think you are mistaken about the speed of the particle. It is approximately 0.99999996 x the speed of light. So almost the speed of light, but not quite. Certainly not a million times light speed.

@@Aloisius-bt2km It seems to be that relativistic speeds can not be added that simple. The collision speed, according to modern physics, would be closer to the speed of light than the speed of each particle, but not bigger.

Taking those effects into consideration, the mass of the particles would be more than doubled due to E=MC^2.

CERN hasn’t existed since the 1950s and it’s not a time machine. They can’t accelerate anything a million times the speed of light. The speed of light is a constant as we currently understand physics. CERN is a particle accelerator

Only massless particles, including photons, which make up light, can travel at that speed. It's impossible to accelerate any material object up to the speed of light because it would take an infinite amount of energy to do so. "
