Markkkkkk !!! I work with him awesome that someone is finally shining a spot light on our role at the resort
YAY Mark!!!!! Way to Represent Show Support/Show Services!!!
I'm really excited for this series. I'd imagine there are all kinds of interesting jobs at WDW and DLR that most of us have never thought about.
I was hoping they'd show us more of the specifics of what it's like to drive a float. For example, how do they see where they are going?
I agree - the part he shared about the cork board and stuff was interesting but I would have loved some more technical details/behind the scenes. Also would have been interested to hear which floats are harder or easier to drive - I am sure some we could guess but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some that people think would be easy but aren't due to certain aspects
That's a secret :)
If you look at the rides, you will see certain pieces that aren't quite as bright as other pieces of near it. Those are usually the ones that have the mesh type piece. It doesn't look so bright because you see all the dark holes in it from our side. But from inside where it's darker you can see out just fine.
I agree,,i could care less about seniorty..
Basically, the bigger the float, the more difficult it is to drive..
What a cool experience! Never heard from a driver before! My boys love the parades too!
This was so interesting!!! And Play Parade is my favorite parade. I wish they’d bring it back to DHS.
This was great, it's just the kind of thing my kiddo (now 14 and set on the Disney College program) would want to watch. Thank you for sharing it!
What a fantastic interview! I never knew people drove the floats (never though about it, I assumed they were remote controlled). This guy clearly enjoys his job!
I am very impressed with this video! It was very professional and the editing of this video was great! I can't wait to see the rest of this series!
Great way to showcase how the magic is made!
Very cool! I look forward to the other videos in this series.
That's awesome. I've always wanted to be a Soundsational Snare Drummer... but I played bass in high school and haven't touched a drum in almost 2 years, so when they did auditions this September, I was excited, then bummed. But maybe I can join a parade in THIS way. It never occured to until I saw Pixar Play Parade this summer, that people do have to drive those things. In fact, the only reason I realized that is because where I was standing, the sun went through the screen they see out of and I saw someone inside the float. These people are truly some awesome magic makers.
Btw, I can already tell that this is going to be an amazing series! Thanks to all those at the Dis working to make these videos. Very informative and amazing.
Disney Magic doesn't reveal, but a video of the Electrical Parade back in the 80's is on youtube and it shows inside the Floats :)
This is really, really COOL! Thank you for sharing this video! I feel like Disney is a well oiled machine. Everyone knows their jobs and roles and does it to the best of their ability. I wish all cast members would get the credit they deserve, everyone has a piece in creating the magic!
Interesting piece! Looking forward to more Masters of Magic shows!
Great idea for a vlog. Keep it up DIS!
amazing work
Wow!
Very cool ty
Very cool and interesting idea for a vlog that we don't see every day!
Holy cow this is awesome!
I love this
Great, and interesting, video!
A great behind the scenes look at what looks like a pretty awesome job!
How do human beings even fit in some of these floats? Great video.
This is super cool. Ryno, is this what you did in DL after our ABD trip?
how in the hEcK do they see? was looking for screens and holes lol
If you look at any Disney parade float hard and long enough you get a really good idea of where the driver is and how they see. Some of the floats like the Mickey and Minnie one in Festival Of Fantasy parade at WDW in Florida look like they have cameras hidden on them that allow the driver inside to see where they're going, most likely using television monitors.. Others have mesh areas that look like windows the driver sees out of..
Interesting. What do you do at the park when a parade is not on?
A 2 hour lunch break no joke!!!
Or we just sit and wait for another performance... sometimes a company would buy out the park and we would have midnight parades for the group
First to view, this is SO COOL!!
