Chicken cheese paratha is a delightful fusion of succulent chicken, creamy cheese, and aromatic spices, all encased in a crispy, golden flatbread. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this dish is not only satisfying but also packed with flavor. Whether you’re looking for a hearty meal to start your day or a comforting dinner to end it, chicken cheese paratha is a versatile and delicious choice that will please everyone at the table.
INGREDIENTS :
For the Dough:
2-3 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 tbs salt
Water (as needed)
2-3 tbs oil
For the Filling:
1-2 cup cooked chicken (shredded)
1/2 cup grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1 green chili (finely chopped, optional)
1/2 tbs red chili powder
1/2 tbs cumin powder
1/2 tbs garam masala
Salt to taste
For Cooking:
-Oil or ghee (for frying)
INSTRUCTION :
Making the Dough:
1. In a bowl, mix the whole wheat flour and salt.
2. Gradually add water and knead into a soft, pliable dough.
3. Add the oil and knead again until smooth.
4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Preparing the Filling:
. In a pan, heat oil and add onions saute for a while then add garlic and green chilli chopped. , combine the shredded chicken, red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt, and chopped coriander leaves.(optional)
Mix well together.
Making the Parathas:
1. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
2. Take one dough ball and roll it out into a small circle using a rolling pin.
3. Place a spoonful of the chicken cheese filling in the center of the circle.
4. Put another roti over it
5. Heat a thawa or griddle over medium heat. Once hot, place the rolled paratha on it.
6. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on one side until golden brown spots appear, then flip.
7. Spread a little ghee or oil on the cooked side and flip again.
8. Spread ghee or oil on the other side and cook until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
9. Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls and filling.
Serve hot with yogurt, pickles, or chutney. Enjoy your delicious chicken cheese parathas!
