the crew DOES NOT change the trajectory. The trajectory is pre programmed and once its launched its guidance system takes over and crew is totally hands off at that point. Also there is no oops button. Once an icbm launched its going to the target regardless of what anyone does. That's why its crucial to launch only once an enemy launch as been detected and verified

Yes per SALT agreement many of our missiles have been taken out of service. We use to have 1024 ICBM’s now it’s only in the hundreds. This does not include submarine launched missiles. Also many of our missiles are MIRV capable.
