This is still to this day such a good mod if you don’t have the money for the drop down slides. I bought a set for my 105 l/cruiser in 2021 and yes they have changed the design. In addition to removing the bearings, I removed 40mm off the face of the draw on corners (could have gotten away with 20mm) and also cut away the square tubing under the bump stops at the rear, I removed 70mm each side and seems perfect. As mentioned the tailgate takes the weight so removing that tubing hasn’t caused any issues. Takes a little while longer but worth it, great video mate.
Great work. I have a 75L Dual Zone KickAss Fridge on a setup similar to yours. My issue is not being to fully open the lids as they hit the top tailgate of my 80 Series. This could be a short term solution to my minor problem, until I update my drawer system to a dual stack (instead of twin side-by-side), and have the fridge sit on the floor of the 4WD (instead of on top of the drawer, like they are now). Thanks for sharing.
Well I tried this today. Have a set of 900 drawers and you would think they would all be the same but obviously not if you didn't have to cut anything other than a little out of your drawer fronts on either side. Even with the drawer removed, so that's not what is stopping it from tilting down, it won't tilt down anywhere near low enough without cutting 20=30mm out of the frame on either side at the front above the drawers. It only drops about half way and therefore does not rest on the tailgate. Either your front bearings are further forward, or more likely, the frame sits back further by having a slot cut out. Decided not to cut the frame until I have more of a think about it. The other issue is that the bearing you take out serves to stop the back of the slide from tilting up and the fridge potentially bouncing around. If there is any play (from back to front) at all in the slide when it is fully back, it won't take much for those stops to slip past the bearing right at the back of the drawers on a rough road and that fridge will launch, which could be quite dangerous.
hey man! looks awesome looks like a great way to mod the current slider. Look into shorting the pull out, and adjusting the stopper to right at the "tipping" point. Where the fridge has more of a "zero weight" it should make it easier to lift up! it's what i did for my DYI
Nice one mate. I made a tilt slide with gate hinges but new fridge has top clearance issues by 10mm. I was thinking how to make the draw slide tilt so I could get rid of the metal slide and gain some height clearance so I googled titan tilt slide mod and your video came up. Awesome job. Thanks
As he hasn’t really covered how to access the bearings to remove them this is how I did it: Remove the lid or lids if you have two. Then remove the bump stops at the back of the slide then take the whole slide off. This will give you clear access to the bearings you need to remove. Cheers.
On the left side of the draw there will be a random hole. If you pull the fridge slide the whole way out the screw to undo the bump stop will line up with that hole. And on the right side it’s the same. I also took the lid off the slide so there was only the metal frame. This made it easier to access and stuff. I’d recommend a straight Allen key for your drill to undo all the screws easily
Yeah sorry, the random hole is on the right side. Pull the draw out most of the way and watch the side. There will be a flat screw to unscrew through that random hole. Then flick it out with a screw driver or something.
Looks like a great idea. I’d be looking for a bit steeper lean though. I think that moving the bump stop further back would stop the slide a little earlier. This should allow for a steeper incline AND move the pivot point closer to the center of balance, so the lifting load is lighter. Edit: Just read the comments and someone already made this suggestion.
Got mine done last night frame stops side from dropping all the way but still dropped enough . Slide will rest on frame when fully extended cut an inch from the side of the draw Not to much so it can share the weight . Use impact drill to remove bearings it will loosen the nut without having an Allen key on the bolt side eventually. Well worth doing as fridge opens all the way now . Don't have to remove the lid anymore and tilt adjust means I don't have to climb up the bumper any more to grab a brewski
Hey mate, I tried doing this on my 1300mm drawers(there's 4 bolts) tried undoing them but all they did was spin cause I couldn't hold the other side, any ideas on how to get them undone?
Hi Brock, Great easy mod and will try. i had a D&W Fridge slide but it weighs a tonne. Iam going to ask you a silly question but cannot find answer anywere. How do you release the kings slide as i have lost the instructions. So hope you can help me out Thanks
Hey mate, mine had two bearings on each side (newer model?). Did a small cut on wide side of the drawer front but still looks like it won't tilt down all the way to tailgate.
Hey man, i managed to sort my issue out. To get the bearings out you'll need to remove the fridge slide top, then also remove the stoppers inside the drawer system. That should expose the bearings. They are a the front not back. You'll need an allen key and also stop it from turning on the other side from memory
There no room to get my Allen keys in there I’m going to strip The whole draw system apart to get to it. But I’ll see how it goes with your help cheers champ🤙🏼🤙🏼
Well, it’s not as simple as this gent makes out. Or the manufacture of the drawers has changed. Once the roller is removed the Chanel that supports the drawers needs to be cut in addition to the front panel of the drawer. Once you do all that this method seems to work. Time will tell if it is durable.
Great vid. On my 1300 drawers I moved the last 2 bearings back 40mm. It still rests on RHS tube. I didn’t even need to cut the drawer face. Slider comes 95% out now drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bhwQA_uxaRedMSd7OaoPSzpOSPRxaAA9?usp=share_link
THANKYOU for calling is a MOD ( because it is ) and not a hack... finally someone with brains...
Did this mod with my 80 series Kings drawers.
Great mod - works as shown in your video.
Thank You for sharing this 👍.

Appreciate you showing how to remove the bearings.
Just did it I had to trim some off the roller holder bracket to drop to the tailgate cheers for the info 👍🏼

I have a cage over mine with minimal clearance from the fridge but yeh good on you for thinking about it before you hacked up your draws. Like I did

Awesome mate thanks I just couldn’t justify the cost of a fridge drop slide I’ll be waiting on more of your ideas cheers 🍻
Gutted! I’ve got a standard so would need to modify further to limit the drop. Cheers for sharing!

@@nicks2005 got it all sorted now ! Just have to cut the face of the draw now. Do you have a measurement of how much to cut ?

Good shit mate and good name you have their haha. Looks a smidge woobly but still solid. And good idea with letting the tailgate take all the weight.
Good shit mate! You’ve done well for your first vid 👍

Great video mate and a great tip, thanks for putting the time in!
Great idea mate!.. I’m gonna give that a go!… thank you!!!
Well I got it done. Would definitely put it in the easier said than done department.
Hey mate how did you access the outside of the bearings?
Nice simple mod, well done 👍😁
Bloody beauty mate!!!
Thank you.
What a bloody legend!
I like it mate. Well done!
Would it work if you don't have a tailgate? I have the drawers in a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Hi my fridge slide looks like there is 2 upper bearings ether side, how did you get the bearings out
Hey mate, I tried doing this on my 1300mm drawers(there's 4 bolts) tried undoing them but all they did was spin cause I couldn't hold the other side, any ideas on how to get them undone?
Great idea only problem is if you dont have a tailgate its not going to work ie single door or like mine with barn doors
gday mate.... how do you get to remove the bearing???
Good idea mate, thanks!
Good stuff mate
great idea and a really good video mate
Wont work on the newer revisions of thr drawers its a different design. Will need to cut sections out
Good work mate thanks for sharing!
This looks great. Did you build the frame around the fridge too?
Great job man
Great vid! What did you use for the fridge surround? Did you make it or repurpose something?
I made it myself, out of 16mm whiteboard

Hi Brock, I like your hack but can you tell how to remove the bump stop please as I need to remove the slide completely as I need to modify the slide
Brilliant. Thanks...
legend mate awesome vid Thankyou!! 👍
Clever fella
Could I put this on my ute tray with no issues
Hey mate, mine had two bearings on each side (newer model?). Did a small cut on wide side of the drawer front but still looks like it won't tilt down all the way to tailgate.
Hey man does yours two is it in a Ute? Mines in a Ute and can’t get them out
Hey mate is the only thing restricting it from tilting down even further the tailgate?
That and the drawer below it
How the hell do you undo the bearing?? Will it work on a Ute suet up? I’ve got two bearings there and can’t get to back edge so I can Unbolt them

Chris did you work out how to get allenkey in there
How many bearings did you remove bud
Can you show us step by step?
Anyone got a measurement on how much to cut the draw ?
Anyone know how to get allen key in there to hold against self?
Does anyone know if it is reversible if I decide I prefer it back to normal?
I guess you just put the rollers back in
Matrix I can get mine so far down like that
How do i get my Fridge slide to slide like yours, mine is so stiff and always a two hand operation .. Great vid aslo
Wd40 all the runners and bearings, mine slides too well now lol
