    While I get that a market rent is the fair price, this guest’s statement that mom and pop shops should shut down because they can’t afford rent is a reason we see so much vacancy and recessionary issues, and the strategy could backfire long term. At a minimum, the Gordon Gecko lack of empathy was not becoming.
    Of course I’m an e-commerce entrepreneur and this isn’t my core focus area, but just my outside perspective.
