    He doesn't do yoga, martial arts or anything of the kind.
    He did (and still does) a lot of parties though, which drastically shortened his career. Ronaldinho 2004-06 was on God mode.
    No amount of training will take you to this level. It's a gift, you either have it or not. That's why Ronaldinho, Messi, Maradona, Pelé are so revered.

    7:23 Fun fact: Nike invited Ronaldinho to do a commercial with Kobe Bryant, and they asked Ronaldinho to kick the ball in to a basketball net, they prepared everyone to shoot for a long time thinking that it would take a long time for him to hit the perfect shot, Ronaldinho did in the first shot, secods after starting the recordings. Of course they asked him to do it again.

    Goose bumps, bro I became addicted to watch the reactions to this video of Ronaldinho, maybe already 10 different ones. I watch soccer since before having memories. Every time it's amazing. Let's remember he toyed with the defense elite of that time like Gatuso, Ramos, carvalho etc. 😱🤯🤙

    Everyone respected Ronaldinho because he was humble and took his time outside the pitch.
    There are stories about defenders asking him before matches to not make them look stupid because a scout or a girlfriend was there at that game, and he respected that.
    That's the person he is.

    Yo... Relating him to a running back is probably the best comparison to a NFL player.
    Its exactly the same tbh. We grow up with a ball at our feet as opposed to in our hands. And football is a game of style and finesse. A QB receives a ball and what's to get rid of it asap. Players like Ronaldhino play exactly like a RB. Pure improvised movement. Its beautiful to watch. Messi had the best mentor a player could imagine. He carried the 10 shirt well

    It’s hard to believe that another Brazilian player named Dener was considered a better dribbler than Ronaldinho but unfortunately he passed away at age 23 in 1994 via car crash.

    It's called "elastico", that i believe can called elastic in English, this word exist rigth? It was created from amateur player ( i'm not sure if he was amateur or not now) friend of Rivelino, that was the first professional to apply it. By the way Rivelino is the idol of Maradona. Ronaldinho didn't created anything, but applied a lot skills that impressive the world that gringos never saw before. And a lot of these skills came from indoor, and of course streets.

    "Is there a limitation to how long the player can rull with the ball on their head"
    Actually, yes - you're no longer allowed to do this at all in fact. Turns out that when you're doing this (or bouncing the ball on your head as you run past defenders) the only way to stop you is to foul you, so it's no longer allowed.
    That said, one of the things you'll learn about football is that in terms of showing off, showboating and ball acrobatics, it's actually generally considered an useless skill on the pitch, and it's more of a ball control exercise outside of it. You'll find compilation videos on youtube of amateurs doing crazy trick shots and ball control that wouldn't be able to hack it in pro football.
    Why am I mentioning this? To emphasize just how much of a MONSTER Ronaldinho was for being able to do it on the pitch. People just don't understand how crazy it is that he was able to showboat and screw around with the ball, not against static dummies or amateurs, but against the very best football players in the world.

    And yeah, we also play a game called "5's". Always played within an enclosed pitch. Like quarter size of a regular 11's park. And altho we (my generation) call it 5's.. referring to the amounts of players. We will play anything from 1 man Champs. ! goal keeper, and as many out field players that are around and hanging out. Last person to score is out. Until down to the last 2. We do play upto 3 man champs. (unlimited teams of 3, 1 goal, elimination kinda thing), but more that 3 players in a side will pretty much require 2 goalies. Basically a mini game. We have indoor and outdoor 5 a side leagues. We play this as soon as we can walk. Probs why we are so naturally decent with a ball at our feet.

    Ronaldinho started his career at indoor soccer (futsal) which is the big reason why he is to technically gifted. Indoor requires much quicker feet and higher dribbling skills and he was just able to translate it to futebol/soccer. Bro, this is not a joke. Ronaldhino's other most invested in hobby to fill the gaps when not playing footy, was partying. Not shit bro. Being able to party was usually written into his contract. He hated training. Just loved fooling around with the ball. If he trained and took the game as seriously as CR7 Ronaldo takes his craft, Ronaldhino would've just been another outstanding Brazilian. It was his love for showing off with the ball that motivated him. We literally was an entertainer. To the greatest standard... Peace out dudes

    Goalkeeper trick isn't his idea THB. That was first seen on TV by George Best when playing fro Northern Ireland against England. Oh, and you should check out Bestie. He played at a time quite different from Ronadinho and Messi et al. In Best's day each team he played against designated a player to stop him at all costs. In those days a legal tackle was anything below neck level. Chelsea had a player nicknamed Chopper Harris, guess why. Unfortunately Best was quite literally the best and it made little difference. If he'd played for a country likely to make it the World Cup regularly he'd have been more widely recognised. Its good to hear you have a clear understanding of Football, not that common in the US I think.

    Ronaldinho didn’t p*** opponents off. Even opponents fans used to applaud him. Even if he wasn’t paid multimillion $ for playing, he had the demeanor of doing this cuz it was fun. He played cuz he loved to play. And he was good at it.

      Lol … off course they are competitive. And there sure are someone who got p****d. But he had such a joyful and “lets just have fun” personality, that most just enjoyed play with - and against - him.
      There are even stories of defenders on opposing teams coming up to him before a match, asking him not to make them look ridiculous, cuz a gf or a talent scout would be present at the match. Everyone - all over Europe - regarded him as a brilliantly talented player, who let the fun back into the game.
      Sadly though - he was kinda instrumental in his own short career. He was also into partying and staying out all night, and not too keen on the team practices, which often led him into trouble with various trainers.
      Everyone wanted to trade jersey with him after a match.
      The thing about getting mad at him for making them look stupid … many knew they didn’t stand a chance against him. And that was overall accepted. So the sentiment was sort of “why get mad when we really are unable to do anything”.
      His joy was contagious on the pitch. Team mates and opponents have all shared the same thoughts of him making his presense felt all over the pitch, simply because he was “just a kid running around a dirt pit, kicking a ball around.” (Which all types of sports should be 😉.)

    Actually he was not a regular trainer,. In fact he was only really interested if the training was with a ball. Must have driven his manager spare!! Then he'd go onto the pitch and make the difference. When he had the ball other players could make runs and take positions safe in the knowledge that he wouldn't lose it and he'd find them with a pass, or use then as a decoy. He was pure talent and played for the joy of playing. The other players were only there for his amusement (not in a nasty way).

Now it has become part of there football culture maybe that's why brazilian are one of the best at ball control.

    4:27 This part is just not true exactly, that came about more in the 90's Ronaldinho's peak (and most of this Video) is early 00's. Tactics today are just evolutions of old systems.
    Pep Guardiolas, total football tika taka style(today) is an evolution of Cruyff's total football(90's/00's), which was an evolution of of Michels total football(60's) which was his version of the Hungarian systems of the 50's. Incidentally , Klopp and Guardiola both today use systems that really on the same pressing ideas, and also a return of the WM formations which have not really been in top tier use since the 50's
    Its slightly different today because they defend in 451/433 set ups, but they attack in a WM, many teams do this now.
    Tactics are cyclical and the progress is actually far slower from a wider lens. ,
    If I am correct BTW, we will see a return of 442 to counter things like WM as we did in eth 60's and 70's, but it will be with a twist when compared to the old 442 systems, I dont know what the twist will be , but I predict in the next 5 years ...that is where we are headed tactically
    I agree Ronaldinho has mad natural ability as well as many hours just playing with a football so he can actually manifest that potential

    i would not say gifted, he was play on streets with potholes, small fotsball on concrete and wood, he was playing normal football for club, all that while growing up as kid, he master football, all sweat and pain to become legend, its will to play football.. elasticoand sombrero(playing over the head of players) are his signature moves, shooting UNDER wall(99% everyone shooting over) in free kicks is also his move and he start that way of shooting

    Re the "hocus pocus"; Isn't that what he does twice at 14:39 ? It looks like basically the same move.
    It's just that he does it a moment earlier than in your example and while still closing in on the defender. So rather than using it as a highly-skilled nutmeg from a standstill position, he instead uses it slightly earlier and in-motion as a highly-skilled elastico variation to fake left and go right.

    Love you guys but please, don't diss my boy like that saying "that's basically all talent an 0 practice if he's 16yo". Don't get me wrong, he is massively talented, but at the age of 16, that was probably 10 years of practice at that point. As it is for most of these players.

    • @RealFansSports
      @RealFansSports  Місяць тому +1

      Wasn’t meant to be disrespectful. Obviously he practiced but we all know there’s different levels to practicing and stuff as you get older and further into the game. That’s more to what we were referencing.

    I played as a left back against lots of players who were better than me. My philosophy was, either the ball's getting past me or the man is, but never both. Ronaldinho would have been kicked up in the air if I got anywhere near him, which of course I never would have. He was the kind of player that made players like me give up the game and just watch and enjoy players like him.

    • @RealFansSports
      @RealFansSports  2 місяці тому

      That’s so funny because that was a similar mind set for me too. I played left back as well had 2 really good center backs. My goal was always to only let one or the other get pass

    • @qancerclown6116
      @qancerclown6116 2 місяці тому +2

      You do realise that this was exactly what other defenders were trying to do to him and they still failed. Ronaldinho was the most frequently fauled player in the league. It didn't matter. And he wasn't just playing against great players, he was playing against some absolute legends. I think you have a clip in this video with both Gatuso and Nesta getting fooled by him at the same time, if I am not wrong. There are so many legends in this video, that you can play "who is this pokemon" by stopping the video on each clip and trying to recognise them.

    6:41 I think it is real. I wouldn't have thought it possible but then I got a nephew who was a national player for Papua New Guinea (so no where close to Ronaldhino, not good enough to even play in europe) and he could do that, he would kick from half way and hit the cross post intentionally 4 times in a row, without the ball touching the ground, and on the last rebound head it in. Crazy.
