Good video! By the way that "glitch" track as you say is the empty program you didn't use when you began to craft your initial track. When you first get into the MPC daw they load a basic track for you....called program 1 (for drums) when you then go to your plugin tab it creates another track called "Plugin 1" after you lay your first plugin track you lay your drums by first loading a drumkit...that gets it own track created and if you use that, the program 1 track stays there unsued...when you bounce those out to logic it reads all of the tracks--that specific track has nothing on it so thats why its there with no audio. --Long story short. before you bounce down to logic go to your project tab and delete the program 001. you wont get that when you bounce down anymore. sorry for the long message lol as an MPC user that baffled me at first too
when you bounced the audio into logic, that first track is not a glitch.. Its the audio track that mpc auto creates in every new project. Just like it automatically creates an empty program.
This is great info for those who have high dollar vsts like omnisphere and keyscape but no drum vsts. Those and mpc software don't need any other plug ins to make classic records
You don't really have to bounce the beat you can leave it fully intact and just setup the individual tracks inside logic. It will make your life 100% better so that you're not having to do all that bouncing work. This can be done in Ableton and Reason the same way.. I have been doing it for awhile.
yo when ever you wanna change the time correction for your high hats u can use the knop on the bottom left. trust me its much easier then pressing the screen
@BoloDaProducer Hey My brother How can I, if possible to reach you for a couple of questions on the Mpc X in Logic Pro X in Regards to sequencing / vst for workflow?
Question why couldn’t you have done this in your MPC? I also have logic but I don’t use it anymore. Tell me why you think this is a good option? Thanks bro
You can, but the process of sequencing everything out is a lot harder in the MPC. You can definitely do it but the process takes a lil while longer. Plus I can’t use plugins that I usually use.
Question, seeing that you a mpc hardware buyer i do you feel they gave away basicly the software that in a mpc. Me personally id be pissed after spending so much money on hardware. Idk, its crazy theres so much for cheaper or basicly free software to make music these days. I mean its been going on for while but now its like they giving away top of the line software.
the MPC is only connected to the PC via USB, right? so no need to send the audio-outs to the audio-interface anymore? I'm thinking of buying the mpc x, but am a bit unsure on how to best incorporate it, as i do have a lot of other external gear, that's on an 8x8 midi interface which is currently controlled in logic.. with the mpc as main sequencer i think it'd be impossible to use them all.. also most of my audio-inputs are in use already (actually i already have to move some audio-connections sometimes if i don't want to use a mixer)
Greetings brother, great video. So I'm wondering where you get your sounds kits? I know tons of people sample things themselves, but people also buy kits. Also when using your mpc do you use records to sample or do you use dj programs with millions of songs available? Last question, why did you go with the mpc when you have things like maschine studio out here? Thanks in advance.
Ok please do man because I found myself being able to do everything I want with standalone mpc X, besides that there are no tutorials on how to do it from the standalone unit.
Can you use the MPC to record live into logic? like using it as a controller for your midi samples (whether they be samples within the MPC or your own audio samples you've downloaded)? I want to buy one but really only if I can play drums along with melodies in a live setting and record it. Hopefully that makes sense.
I’ve just got the mpc touch & this is what I’m trying to do. I’ve got as far as getting the midi notes in logic to trigger & play the sounds of the mpc to arrange the song in logic of the loop i created in the mpc. However when i need to export, bounce or record the midi in logic to audio, it doesn’t export, bounce or record the sound. Hope that makes sense & somebody can help.
Are you in standalone mode or controller with the mpc x? I’m a new user and I want a set up like yours where I can use the mpc with my monitor vs the screen on the mpc.
But I came here for the Mpc X. What contribution did the MPC X do here that you could not do without? I could easily do this on the computer with my daw and same or other vst instrument. Or is that MPC X is dope so let me have it. This am talking to Akai not my man right here. Would be nice if I didn't need the computer nor logic or protools and do it all on the MPC X. Which possible I suppose but what about sounds. Do I just have to steal other people's music chop it to unrecognizable and patch some beats out and say I have done a song. A standalone was made and needed for a reason. And we need more please Akai or Roland. Real stanalone where the pc or mac is completely not needed. Plugin loadable. This thing was already possible 10 years ago. Common now. People make great music using the iPhone with samples and synths and there is nothing out there to replace my traditional computer. With latency still isn't zero? Computer updates to drive you nuts, let alone the distractions of keeping everything running well on the computer when I all I needed it for was for music. Well don't know what to say I need some 10 million dollars and I will a music making machine that will end the use of pc and mac. And someone make another stanalone machine for video editing probably. And end of traditional computer. Boom. Because iPAD and Tablets are far smoother to work with and better battery life for internet related works. So the computer is coming to an end. See why smartphone has destroyed computer sales. Wait until apple comes up with something maybe plugins on iOs and bye to big good for nothing heating up, non mobile computer. This is 2018 and beyond and still there is no such thing? what a shame. People begged and complained and asked Akai and finally they had mercy to give this MPC X. Well it's alright.
Soon Roland would enter this market or someone else. It's not that, it's hard or easy. It's that those guys don't do music and don't know what people who do music need. You know how long they've telling Akai to do something like these?. They never knew on their own it would be cool. So they didn't. not because programming is not easy. Akai has started something great here the journey to computer-less music has started. With machines designed for music-making.
Alpha Omega yo the best things to have is a computer/laptop dedicated to just music, that keeps all the useless junk off of it (work stuff, documents you don’t want to be looking at, chat apps, etc., etc.). Use a cheapie for your main computing needs like browsing, word, excel, etc. then a computer just with your daw and plugins, you know what I’m sayin? My dedicated machine practically feels like an MPC in its own right because it’s almost always ready to go and it’s fast. Plugin and daw updates do happen but then so do bios and firmware updates for MPC or any hardware these days.
Too much🙄, it’s standalone you don’t need a computer, I’m old skool give me a mpc mixer and a keybd,& I’m good. That’s the point akai is making, make music!! Not all the mess computers cause
Jeremiah Maryland I think you can get a good mix, except for the lack of side chaining... but the biggie for me is arrangement, and track-wide automation, plus specialty plugins, whether effects or bus compression, mastering, stacking, etc. all that stuff is so much obviously easier in my opinion on the PC... gave up arranging on my Live and just make the 2 or 4 bar loops and maybe some variations on it.
Thank you for the videos 🤘
Love it when you get Mpc out the box
First timer! I just got my MPC X and I have been using Logic X. This helps me Tremendously!!!!!
If you double press on NOTE REPEAT it stays latched so you can use your right hand for the screen :)
Pulsating Waves thanks 🙏🏾
👊🏼
This 3 year old comment just changed my life lol
Would not have thought to do it this way. Sequencing in Logic is so much easier than my MPC Live. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Dam I just saw this for the first time you keep that heat ! Don't know I miss it
Great tutorial

RunTheTrack Music Thank You!!!!
ur pro
Thanks for that info
I think everything you did was perfect! I'd want to do it the same way if I had an MPC.
Free MPC beats software.
Dope fam thanks tutorial, you just made my work flow a lil more faster.
Damn why I never saw this video. Breaking down the track in logic seem much better than breaking it down in the MPC... thanks for the tip bro
💪🏾
Track is fire 🔥🔥🔥

by default Mpc starts off with one midi track and one audio track. When you separate programs the audio track gets exported as well.
That was great......... Thank you for sharing.
This beat is wonderful !
You don't really have to bounce the beat you can leave it fully intact and just setup the individual tracks inside logic. It will make your life 100% better so that you're not having to do all that bouncing work. This can be done in Ableton and Reason the same way.. I have been doing it for awhile.
Ast3rix I know I’ve tried it, but you lose audio quality that way. I doesn’t sound as good as it does coming directly out of Mpc software bounced.
Solid work Bolo.
Thanks!
So dope i just subscribed allday
hot beat and drum kit programs too.
I'm gettin my Escalade outfitted with an MPC X in the dash so I can burn pads when an idea runnin thru my head. Now that's distracted drivin Po Po !!
It's all Good lol... might want to put the Live upfront? And the X in the back seat or a slide out in the trunk with some 15s!
Awesome!!
I wish I could have seen what you were doing on the MPC x when you making the beat..... I am new to the MPCx... Nice video...
yo when ever you wanna change the time correction for your high hats u can use the knop on the bottom left. trust me its much easier then pressing the screen
dope video i was trying to find out how to do this
Dope vid
That was hella useful thanks so much. 5⭐
I can’t wait until we can explode right from song mode. What I’m going through any extra steps
You know what… ima email them about that now!!
But the number one thing they need to do is allow us to bounce from song mode‼️
Awesome !!🔥🔥💯
Thank you
Great content! Just pick an MPCX up and your videos make me not as intimidated to mess with it since I have no training.
MPC beats is free.
Bolo thanks for thr tutorial and that beat is ridiculous 😭 what did uou use to make that melody??
When you hook up your mpc as a controller do all the drum sounds come from the mpc? Or do you have to import them into the computer from the MPC?
Drums are in computer and sound very similar to Standalone mode 💪🏾
@@BoloDaProducer Thanks bud!

Thanks for watching
Thanks!
Was new to the process and Technology , used your method.. makes workflow smoother between MPC Live and Logic👍🏾

how do you change the screen view to the one you have

Are you selling those kits ...just bout a mpc live and need sounds
Yep... I might put them on my beatstars page soon
Ok cool il be lookin forward to buyin them ...i dont know where to start but i need thos kits so i can start
Where can I purchase your drum kit programs for the MP?
Where can I buy the drum kit you are using for this exact beat
just look up Zaytoven drum kit theres alot of sounds floating around the net
Arseny Libkind these drums are in every drum kit labeled “trap”

I use drum kits. And I make most of my sounds
www.reddit.com/r/Drumkits/ (THANK ME LATER)
SupaTight Bolo, Peace!
Thanks fam great video. Any way to make 808 pitch or glides directly in the X or software??
I pretty sure there a way to do it using automation but i haven't tried yet. But, I'll see about making a video soon
Ok please do man because I found myself being able to do everything I want with standalone mpc X, besides that there are no tutorials on how to do it from the standalone unit.
Nice bruh... Was that sound you used in the plugin already in the MPC or a sound you sampled in?
Man can u plz do a video how you can make your beats better in Pro tools plzzzzzzzzzzzz.
My Man, how were you able to 'sequence' the tracks??
Thanks dude.
need u to do one for electra x

You can BUT...you gotta use the MPC as a plugin routed to Logic..it can be done though so yes.

go Bolo, go Bolo, go Bolo, it's birthday, it's birthday, it's birthday...........
If you buy this used do you have to buy the MPC software separately?
RussTec Ltd Co not sure, I’ll have to look into it
Ok thanks
I would have gone a little sicker with that bass
yeah i should have went a lil more into it, but i just wanted to do a quick demo. Maybe ill do a full video showing my production soon.
Mine arrived today but I wasn’t home. Now i can’t get in from the leasing office until Monday. Ugggggg 😡🤬

thanks :)

Controller MOde
Was that's a stock 808
Sylvester Braziel no, it was a 808 bass I got from Zaytoven a while back
Once you develope a good work flow and learn more about song mode and multi-sequencing , on your mpcx , using Logic dont make sense .
Peacze Better and more in depth mixing in Logic or Pro Tools.
Sequencing in the MPC still has some short comings though. Best to use tools for what they are best at.
totally disagree. Spend the time diving into the LOGIC approach and your flexibility increases exponentially. good job on the video Sir
Sounds like Zaytoven beat
