I like how you explain everything about how too catch fish close to shore. The biggest flounder I have gotten was the size of truck tire and it was coat at Port Saint Joe
Several years ago 4 of us from work would go to Emerald Island, NC a couple times a year to surf fish for a week. We would divide up the catch and bring it home, except for the flounder. All flounder was eaten on the day of catch, even though we knew we were going to get our butt’s chewed out by the wives for never bringing them flounder. Loved finding that little trough up close to the beach when it would be full of flounder!
Love you my young brother. Thank you for taking us along on another beach adventure Throwing back a Flounder in saltwater is like throwing back a Crappie in freshwater
As always, solid content and I love seeing the beaches you visit and hear you talk about the structures and tactics. Thanks for the many sunrises, too!
Oh yes ! the Flounder bite was on ! A couple that could made a nice dinner ! ( catch n cook ) . Tho having such fun is well worth it too. Nice going Matt . Tom Daytona Beach , FL. 21 , September 2021 .
Great video BB! Would love to see you do a Flounder catch and cook. Your catch and cook videos are some of my favorites because I’m an aspiring chef at heart. Stuffed flounder is great!!
Nice! It’s always tempting to take the big gear out in the surf, but these videos are a good reminder what you can get on using light gear close to the beach.
It's almost time for the bay flounders to make the fall journey to the gulf. I used to catch a stringer full of flounder fishing the exit points to the gulf at night. Average night was 7 to 8 nice sized flounder.
Great Video Matthew, I booked a trip with Bearded Brad on 11/1 and I have a whole bag of those lures you were using, they sent them free as a promotion, hopefully those flatties will still be biting! I also finally broke down and Beachbummed me a pair of waterland sunglasses...thanks, you saved me 20 bucks. My best to your family!
I have caught numerous flounder, using a dropper rig (similar to a pompano rig) and using Berkley Gulp, scented baits. The flounder see the suspended bait, swimming in the current, and swim up and grab it!
You can upgrade your flounder game by using some pro cure flounder pounder sent. Just started using it this year and it’s like night and day difference. I put it on my buck tails and the teaser with gulp. I also put it on my slow pitch jigs. My first flounder on the slow pitch jig was 19.5”. Up here in Connecticut 19” is the minimum size. Look into slow pitching I believe that you guys call it knife jigs or butterfly jigs. I’ve seen Brant use them. I use them in my Kayak in the salt. As long as you can find structure up here you will catch fish. You just have to pick the right weight for your combo.
Just ordered my free pack of slam shady lures. I had no idea they were scented until now, but makes perfect sense why they work so well. I can’t wait to try them for the morning or evening bite.
Goodday I fished Playa Dorada in Panama in april- may this year used jerk baits and high- low size 2 gamis with prawns. The beach will forever be called Playa Gatopesca. Lots of catfish 12 inches was biggest.
Great video, Matt, I ordered a pack of those slim shadys I am going to give them a shot in destin next week. Great experience with the company, and have been receiving email videos and tips from them almost every day.
I have a quick release type paracord loop on my backpack I hook my flip flops through when I walk out there. The flip flop bandits are out in force this year. Blame it on the Rona, like everything else 🤙😆
Surf fishing, I have found that a "bass assassin" cast into the water then jerking the rod hard about three times will produce amazing hook-ups. You want flounder, then bump it along the bottom.
Great video! Headed home in just a couple of weeks….Was going to tote down the yaks, but think I may just try my luck surf fishing this go around based on this video since it’s a quick trip. Got the slam shady’s packed up along with surf fishing gear. Hope to catch a few keeper flounder & whiting. Possibly even a Pompano. Unsure when their fall run is.
I love the slam shady I would highly recommend. And for everyone that sees this comment I have the beach bum rod I highly recommend you buy to support definitely worth the money
Matt! I took your advice and used the link in the description to get my free pack of Slam Shady lures! I can’t wait to try them out! Keep up the great work, and tight lines! -D
Great video man! You were definitely on them. I need to pick some of those up. I'm gonna be in the pan handle of Florida in a couple weeks and wanting to do some filming myself hopefully catching some fish!! Lol have a good one man. 👍
I think you should securely, hide your gopro, to record the flip flop bandits, stealing your shoes! Then you can find them and beat them, with a 6" Halco, full of treble hooks!
Our GoPro Hero 9 RARELY ever freezes on us. We often use our Max Lens Mod and our Saramonic wireless mics and it's always crisp, clean and beautiful. And, with horizon leveling and Hyper Smooth 3.0 it's gorgeous! And, of course the GoPro 10 just released last week...
@@BamaBeachBumnice to meet you too man, I had a blast getting to meet and fish with you guys yesterday, I may not have shown it because I tend to be more of a reserved type person until I get to know folks! It was definitely cool getting to see how everything comes together, you guys are a trip! I definitely absorbed alot of valuable info that hopefully I can utilize going forward!! Maybe I run into ya'll again sometime down the road!
Slam Shady Strikes Again!!!
I'm going to put them to the test soon!

I've be driving on Fort Fisher NC... I like how where you park it's like claiming a lot and nobody gets in your way.

The explanation of the equipment is spot on .if you ever see rubber dog poop on a pair of flip flops there mine. Love that sunrise.
I love flounder fishin'. And they're so good to eat. It's a lot of fun when they get thick. Awesome video.
Oh yes ! the Flounder bite was on ! A couple that could made a nice dinner ! ( catch n cook ) . Tho having such fun is well worth it too. Nice going Matt . Tom Daytona Beach , FL. 21 , September 2021 .
Great video. Flounder are the filet mignon of the sea. Crocs work real well for me when surf fishing and I can keep them on at all times.
The way that 2nd flounder scurried off under your feet and then hauled ass into the surf looked hilarious 😆
I fished all my life central florida gulf. Caught my first fish on the slam shady 2.0. Amazing how accurate those lures are.
Great video BB! Would love to see you do a Flounder catch and cook. Your catch and cook videos are some of my favorites because I’m an aspiring chef at heart. Stuffed flounder is great!!
Good to see you do a flounder video! Would love to see a flounder catch and cook. Flounder is my favorite fish to fish for.

Awesome finally did a Flounder video. Great Job.
Great Video. I'm coming down to beach fish on Friday, I will be throwing a Slam Shady for sure. Thanks Matthew.
Flounder killing it in the surf! I try every trip, and have never got on em like that! And my gosh have I ever said "Dang it! Stupid catfish!" 🤣🤣
Let’s Go !! We don’t do flip flops anymore bro !! Get some 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊 on your feet. It’s the way to go now.
Got done slam shady coming. I hope they get here before I leave for Bama next Thursday.
Love using Slam Shady's. It works on everything, even Largemouth Bass.

Thanks for passing along the link to the free Slam Shady, got mine in only a couple of days after ordering. Come on 100k - you are almost there!
I have caught numerous flounder, using a dropper rig (similar to a pompano rig) and using Berkley Gulp, scented baits. The flounder see the suspended bait, swimming in the current, and swim up and grab it!
I love how fast they take off when you toss them back in the water

Don't know if anyone told you that you sound like David spade.lol especially at the "oh my gosh" moment. 😄
The very few that I've caught we're on the slam shady. Good bait!! Great video thank you for the content.
Love this content. Them flat fish with two eyes on top are my favorite to eat.
Surf fishing, I have found that a "bass assassin" cast into the water then jerking the rod hard about three times will produce amazing hook-ups. You want flounder, then bump it along the bottom.

Twice on vacation in Florida I have had my flip flops "disappear" . I'm glad it's not just me!
I like your night videos catching flounder

Always nice finding the flatties on the beach!
A little loop of paracord and a d-ring makes a great flip flop to belt loop keeper.

Keep up the great work, and tight lines!

Heck yeah!
Good stuff brother! Flounder Pounder!
Is it better to fish in the morning there or evening ? Or is anytime good for you even during the day ? I am headed there in May
Got my free pack already. Will try them in a few weeks. Flounder would be nice.
Great video man! You were definitely on them. I need to pick some of those up. I'm gonna be in the pan handle of Florida in a couple weeks and wanting to do some filming myself hopefully catching some fish!! Lol have a good one man. 👍

Good video I headed that way in the fall!!
Good job. You better get them before the flounder pounder gets there, lol.
Lol getting right Mr. Richard.
I'll be in P-cola at the beginning of the month... I bought a pack from salt strong... Wish me luck... 😆
Nice Video!!! Could you share your size of lines and lures as well?
What size reel would you say to use to catch Spanish mackerel and red fish
My free pack is on the way! I hope I’m as successful as you were with the ole flatties.
I think you should securely, hide your gopro, to record the flip flop bandits, stealing your shoes! Then you can find them and beat them, with a 6" Halco, full of treble hooks!
Thanks great vid!
It was fun just watching :).
"What a beautiful fish!" LOL!
We had issues with our GoPro 8 while using Scandisk memory cards. Replaced them with the Walmart Onn brand. Work much better
I need some of those slam shaddys.
Go get them mr. Fisherman
I love flounder
Thinking of coming down from Georgia this weekend. What does the surf look like right now (seaweed, grass, etc.)?
Our GoPro Hero 9 RARELY ever freezes on us. We often use our Max Lens Mod and our Saramonic wireless mics and it's always crisp, clean and beautiful. And, with horizon leveling and Hyper Smooth 3.0 it's gorgeous! And, of course the GoPro 10 just released last week...

River shoes work the best. Have to wear them in SC, unless you want to go to urgent care
Good stuff!!
I’m heading to Nags Head in October, planning on targeting some flounder
Flounder season in North Carolina September 1 to the 14th
@@terryh9382 well damn. Thanks for the info
Can we still get the slam shady lure free to try? Link not working
Be down in fwb for tournament last week of October...would they still be stacked on the beach in the early mornin....?
Just depends, they are weird.

What knot do you use for braid to lure???
