Michael, My wife surprised me with a Tres she got from Cuba. Shame on me I did not know that this beautiful instrument exists :( I am a guitarist and did not know what to do, so I found your video while browsing the internet and tell you it is a blessing. Thank you for this nice video. Just subscribed. cheers
I bought a Tres from Miami Fl I notice that my both E string are the same. Could let me know what are the strings that on your Tres? Thank you for the lesson just starting, you're the only one that teaches in English that have found.
Thanks, Michael! Just picked up a lovely tres. Had checked out a couple of your vids (this one included) beforehand to see what I was getting myself into! Helped me take the plunge. Have played guitar for a long time. Your lessons are a great touchstone and I look forward to checking out more. I hope you continue to make more with the instrument. I am fan!
kind of like flamenco azupua - lots of rapid down strokes with thumb on mostly individual strings- same kind of wrist action - anyway i`m sold- i need to buy a good tres or convert a small guitar depending on if you can get that same sound - i would imagine a lot might have to do with materials and design construction - i love the tinny sound - i already have 3 octave mandos but they are much mellower and of course they don`t have the big space between courses - i would not want to convert those guys anyways . any advice on purchasing one would be great - i`ll see if you have other videos on the subject - thanks
Hi, it's almost identical to flamenco thumb technique, good observation. I know a very good tresero that builds great instruments. Send me an email at michaelmcclintockmusic@gmail.com and we can chat. I'm glad you like the tres! They're very cool.
Hello Michael, very good instructions, thanks! I like the sound of your tres. What mark is it? Did you buy it as a tres or did you convert a guitar? Greetings from Amsterdam.
Thanks, Teddy! I play an Amaurys. He's a Cuban builder and he's very solid. It's not a conversion but, if you'd like more info feel free to shoot me an email. It should be in the description of the video.

Hi Enrique, I use an octave for my E and G strings but that's not the most common tuning. What you have at the moment is the most common.
Thank you so much for this lesson! You are awesome! ☺🙏
Thanks, Valamo!
