Flashing check engine light is usually a sign of a misfire. You need to get that to a good mechanic ASAP, before you blow it up. Maybe they can fix your exhaust leak too.
Well, I am the current owner of this car, I found this video just before I bought it actually. A lot has changed since this video, the car does not have any sti swap stuff besides the brakes, everything underneath is still a WRX unfortunately. The car has a 16G, 650cc injectors, and an ETS Intercooler. When I picked it up it did not have a recirc bov and did not have the GReddy intake, it also did not have the Crawford air oil separator for some reason besides some cheap hoses tied to the oil cap, also not sure what the car actually makes in power but it is only pushing about 20 psi. It's getting tuned in the next month so we'll see. Now the issues the car had; the turbo up-pipe was cracked, a ton of vacuum leaks, axle seals leaked, horrible injectors(runs like garbage, causing some misfires under certain conditions), also came with blown-out Tein coilovers, didn't have A/C, fog lights, hella horns or the OZ wheels but did come with a set of brand new reps lol another issue I'm still facing is the guy I bought it from was never given a key fob or a remote. Hence, the car is pretty much stuck in valet mode for the time being without a programmed remote. A big bad, the small dent in the rear is more than just a dent, the trunk is pushed in around the tail light along with that quarter panel. The car has had 11 owners before me, and I'm not even sure if this was the 8th or 9th owner, but it was tossed around a few times after this video. The car also had some other cosmetic changes such as it has different headlights, a BRIDE headliner(which was done poorly and didn't have any of the handles or sun visors), a quick release, and from what I can tell a trunk interior delete lol. Another big bad, it does have some rust; subframes, rockers, sway bar mounts, as well as the bushings for them, are pretty shot. Overall, the car had a lot of issues but most of the pressing ones have been fixed, still a little rough for sure but it's a work in progress. For 11 owners It's not as bad as you would think, it doesn't burn any oil, lose any coolant, or smoke, and from what I can tell it doesn't have any head gasket issues and good compression. I am pretty determined to restore it with many improvements; it's about time this car saw some appreciation and care.
Thinking about buying pretty much the same car, but can anyone help me out and tell me if its okay to buy one with about 150.000km? It seems to be in really good condition its just that I dont want to spend too much money on a car that will need an engine swap soon
just get a compression done on the car, and make sure the water pump and timing belt was serviced. two major problems on Subarus and most cars. the newer Subarus also have a ring land issue If your pushing the limitations of the stock block with150+hp added

Sounds pretty choppy, could have a misfire there.
could also have unequal length headers like most 04 subies :)
@@robertspence8649 yeah you don’t know what you’re talking about

It all depends on how well the car was taken care of, maintenance/abuse etc.. 140,000 miles on my 2004, with 322hp
sounds like its missing and sounds also like it has a exhaust leak
you were right on both of those
@@ChuckyWright get her all fixed?

Was anything wrong with it? Like cosmetics, and did the ac work? I found one stock with 134k miles for 4.5k but no ac and paint is pretty faded
@@flymanjam mine had heat and ac. no issues. except normal paint fade nothing serious.. i sold it after i put coilovers and some mods
