Molten single replacement reaction ZnCl2 + Mg

Zinc chloride is melted in a crucible. A magnesium ribbon is dipped into the zinc chloride and a single replacement reaction where water is not the medium is conducted. A good example of a non-aqueous single replacement reaction.
