This is really fantastic. You can’t stop listening. Mehta is a master at pacing and colour. The story telling is thorough from voice to orchestra, like watching a great movie. Lipovšek is luxury casting. Her Fricka is incredible! The entire cast is on top form.

Thank you! This brings back memories, some good, some bad. James Morris, resplendent voice, majestic bearing. Siegfried Jerusalem, nice tone, musical phrasing, until he approached high notes. Eva Marton, yikes, she was great in the 1980s. By this point, her voice was just loud and tremulous.
