I was just about to comment the same! 😄 I’ve been toiling leather with my Maker using the engraving tip combined with foiling tool and this process with the lines might work well for that too.
I just came to this comments to see if someone answered this question, I just got my first cricut and opted to get the maker instead of maker 3 because of price - because to my understanding they basically are the same ( not as fast, doesn’t use smart materials)
i have a cricut maker (not 3 )and i also have the engrave choice on my drop down from operations so it will work one more thing in the beginning i got one tool every two weeks until i got all of them that went to the maker and i still hae them in the pack until i see something on youtube that will make me crack open the package at first i was going sell them but then decided to keep it and im glad I kept them
Forgot to remind folks to move those spools/wheels (whatever they are called) on the maker so it doesn’t roll over or block the piece you are engraving!
So, I have the Maker, not the Maker 3. Is there a reason this will not work on the Maker? It was my understanding the main difference between the two was the ability for the Maker 3 to use Smart Vinyl. Also, I noted that you had moved the wheels off to the side, but didn't mention it in the video. That does need to be done, correct?
Can you tell me the importance of that square cut line file please. Do we HAVE to have it in order to engrave? I have all my supplies ready and waiting for reply before I proceed.
I have three new grandbabies and I seam to buying so many shirts from Etsy I am not the best crafter question if I only want to do t shirts and hats what would the easiest and best machine to invest in and what heat press please help me then the next step will be to sign up for your class anyone’s suggestions would be amazing 🙏
i can only speak on what i have and thats the cricut maker that has the engrave option, so go to your operation tab and scroll down to see if you have it too.(i hope you do too) good luck!
hi , l have a question, can the people who run the cricut design space can they control ur machine? l ask because l was making a birthday topper 4 my niece l was useing a free image in design space l printed a tester everything was fine, but had 2 leave the project until the next day l went cam back the image wasn't free any more, so l started over .np , lam new 2 the cricut only had it about 5 months, the next incident was me making svg file it went great, so l went back 2 finish my other project, the design space was playing up that day ,went back 2 my svg than l made was no longer mine 2 use 4 free. is there something lam going wrong? is anyone else having problems like this ?
It’s all Makers that can engrave not just the Maker 3 🥰

@@lauradenison4079 the best thing was the original Maker also came with the rotary blade and pink mat included too and the 3 didn’t!
Love this tutorial! gonna make some too thank you!!
I was wondering what is the reason for setting your material to the leather setting (I forgot which one it was) instead of setting īt to acrylic?

I had this question too, thanks for sharing
I have a maker and it engraved fine!
thank you. i was wondering why she was only saying maker 3. I'm gonna buy my engraving tool now
Wonderful start to finish tutorial! Thank you. Ready to give this project a try. Wishing you and the entire MGL team a super week. Hugs Susan
Hi Susan
Thank you so much, Susan! Stay safe always!
My engraving tip arrived today! 🙌🏻‼️😊
Yay!
Thanks for this tutorial. I was just going to put vinyl on my keychain.
You are welcome!
This was so helpful. I did some engraving before but I love the way this came out. Definitely going to use this.
Glad it was helpful!
Can gold mirror acrylic be used instead of clear
How long did it take to engrave
Forgot to remind folks to move those spools/wheels (whatever they are called) on the maker so it doesn’t roll over or block the piece you are engraving!
I’m confused on why you need the lines cut file. Could you explain please? Thank you!
The lines file is what is used to fill in the engraved image. Without it only the outline would be engraved.
@@sweetaskandi96 oh ok…thanks!
Hello from Vermont
Hello there!
Can a Explore 2 cut on acrylic ?
Does it have to be mirrored?

Engraving should work with all Makers.
I finished mine but the line are too far apart. How do I fix?
I tried doing my circle with a pen. It won’t let you even proceed with or without a pen. Also, I have a Maker and engraving works great!!
How about using the guide feature for the circle instead of the pen?
Can you tell me the importance of that square cut line file please. Do we HAVE to have it in order to engrave? I have all my supplies ready and waiting for reply before I proceed.

@@sweetaskandi96 Thank you for explaining. I'm glad I waited for your reply.
As soon as I hit engrave it take all the black fill away from my lettering
@@breannachase5743 mine too. Can't figure it out
so is there any way of doing this without paying to become a paying member? I just need the lines feature...thanks

Can the explore 3 do this?
What size of the cutting niddle we need?
I have the explorer 2, someone said only the cricut 3 and I think that said the cricut maker are the only ones you can engrave on, is it true

The link for the lines cutfile is not working, please help
Can this be done on cricut air 2?
I'm afraid it doesn't work with the Explore Air 2.

Can you engrave with the explorer 2?
That is what have also!
I really would LOVE to make keychains! ~Ki’Wi’ #Maryland
You have to use the Maker series to engrave.
where can I download the lines template please
You can download it here makersgonnalearn.com/cut_files/lines-2/.
Maker engraves not just 3
Why didn't you tell us in the beginning that this was just for a Maker 3?
How do I look up the names?
And the imige
Mine has so many scratches after engraving 😢
