As a former singer in a metal band, I can tell you this song isn't easy to sing--I see some comments ranking on the singer; I loved David Wayne also, but he's gone. Some people will never be satisfied with anybody but Wayne singing this, so what, Metal Church should never play one of their songs ever again? Come on
he needs to keep it in his register , high end isnt his zone .. his lower end is fantastically haunting he really needs to make this song his own

I find that all 3 versions of the song have their charms.
Not to strike anything at any of them, since they are all amazing vocalists, but in my opinion I find that the version with Ronny Munroe is superior.

I saw Metal Church headlining one of the nights at ProgPower USA in 2017, and Mike Howe was amazing. Just hearing him you wouldn't have known he was in semi-retirement for several decades, as he sounded every bit as good as he did in the early 90's. RIP to Howe, a truly incredible voice that epitomized everything that was great about metal.
David Wayne was an incredible vocalist. Impossible to duplicate his singing. But, that being said, I am glad that this incredible band is still out there.
Mike's voice makes this song even more special. R.I.P. Mike Howe. Your voice and legacy will be remembered forever. Also, R.I.P. David Wayne your legacy and contribution to Metal Church will be forever remembered. If any of the band is reading this by chance. I would like to say as a fan, take your time with your grief and do what you have to do to mourn. I totally get it and understand waht you're going through.
