Research suggests that scrolling back up to SMASH the like button has a 73% chance to reverse burnout the next time you experience it.
hey, for multitasking you can just create different windows for specific tasks. That way Mission Control is not cluttered with anything. Normally I have like 5-8 softwares on at same time without creating multitasking issues (obviously u need more ram but yeah)
For example my setup is like this:
1st Window: Finder, Notes and other basic apps, Pictures, League of Legends
2nd Window: Adobe Softwares, Unreal, Unity Engine
3rd Window: Browser
4th Window: Coding, Terminal
That way, google searches remain in between within coding and engine softwares making the trackpad to switch swipe much easier.
@@akiralynn3338 Nice tip! I used to do that before but for some reason on Macs with pro motion the animation for switching between virtual desktops is 2 times longer. And so I just started hiding all of the apps instead of having them in different desktops.
Just upgrade to bigger screen and you will be enjoying of multitasking !!! buy 16"
I sometimes have huge problems focusing and hiding the dock has been life-changing advice for me. No more getting distracted by bells and whistles and worst of all, Email notifications. Using Cmd+Tab and Alfred to switch is such a joy, I have a Stream Deck lying around and will see if that could work as an application switcher as well. Hiding the dock is so trivial, yet it took me 10 years of using a Mac and a UA-cam video to discover how beneficial it can be. Thank you!
You can do tons of mousa changes including all the ones you detailed by downloading the logi+ Options btw 🙌🏻
So true, but I'm somehow unable to install it and the support isn't able to fix my issue😭😭😭
I have terrible memory leaks using logi options+ on my M1 Air

@@Aditya_PS I clicka da mousa
I couldn't remove this app, it live inside my mac forever. I Not recommend if it not nessesary
the features of sensible side buttons are present in the linear mouse app, and middle click works by default, so lnear mouse is the only app you need
Purchased a new MacBook recently and I came across your videos. You do a great job and they arealways on point. Congrats.
wow wow wow wow. Bro, there are some times in life when I really like something and want to appreciate people showing it. The dock animation speed trick you just showed is definitely one of those. Annoying animation speed was the reason why I kept the dock. Now, that's the perfect solution I wouldn't be aware of if I didn't see your video. Thanks man!
Ayee cheers! Thanks for watching
I've been using MacOS for a year now and just now I decided to try hiding my dock. It just takes too much space. Command works so thanks for that!
i am using logi mx master 3s too and plan to re sell it because i hate the use when it connect to my mac, but when i already watch this video, and tried to install the apps and it made me comfy again. glad to not sell my mx master 3s yet
nice video as always! helped a lot
Nice! Thank for stopping by
What I find very effective is using a tiling window manager, so that I can send windows between monitors or have two or three windows open at the same time without manually resizing them. You have to get used to, but it really pays off. I recommend yabai, if you’re not on the technical side then amethyst
Nice, I will check those out, thanks for the recommendation!
I've been using this mouse with my Mac for months and I never needed to install any of the 3 mouse adjustment apps you mentioned - it can all be achieved by tweaking the mouse settings on your Mac or in the Logitech software (which is super useful by the way for customising your mouse as you want it, including even different behaviour for different apps)
You're absolutely right. I mentioned these apps because before I had this mouse I was using one that's not from Logitech which obviously doesn't work with their software. So I mentioned them becauase they should work with any external mouse.
@@bogxd I see, thank you
@@lancelotdulac6076 Thx for watching
From where u have this beautifully wallpaper?
I’ve fallen in love with stage manager and BTT
thanks a lot for the mouse apps that you mentioned in this video, i've always had the habit of using a mouse since it increases my productivity. Even i felt that mac handles external mouse pathetically with their overly sensitive scroll making it very annoying. Hope the app will solve this issue.
Ayee, thank you for watching
Thanks so much for the mouse thing. Mac OS is pretty stupid for some things like how it handles app windows. I like Windows where it easily snaps to corners
Use rectangle app for windows like window snapping, or swish to have it gesture based.
linear mouse and alfred has been a game changer, thank you!

By the way you can change the trackpad speed in the settings!
I have a SteelSeries Aerox 3 (SteelSeries GG installed) and my middle button works without any extension. Idk if it's the GG software or MacOS eventually learned what middle click is.
Bro: I LOVE how you just went straight into the content~ like, I already knew why I clicked… that was PERFECT.
Haha cheers! thx for watching
@@bogxd no doubt. Checked out your channel and subscribed! Keep it up, man! I bet you’re about to grow really quickly 🤘🏽🔥💯
Hey, question! I’m getting a macbook and trying to decide if i should get a mouse, and if so, what factors to consider. I’m not necessarily trying to spend $50+ unless its really necessary. I will be using some design tools and switch frequently between apps
If you're okay with wired mice then any "gaming" mouse will be more than good. If you want wireless I'd advise not to go with Bluetooth mice as MacOS really doesn't like some of them (except Apple's own Magic Mouse). If you're okay with having a wireless mouse with a dongle, keep in mind that you'll probably have to buy a USB C adapter so that the receiver can plug into your Mac (the reason I'm telling u this is because the receiver with the adapter will stick out a little bit from the side of your mac which some people (including me) don't really like). @@AddieMcD
would you happen to know a good way to change the "focus follows mouse" default mac os settings? I feel like when using 2 monitors, mac os doesn't switch apps fast enough
THANK YOU SO MUCH. nobody in the tech youtube community actually considers things like the simple fact that humans arent designed to multitask.
Ayeeee thank you for watching
While I agree, I still need to open multiple windows for a single task 😂.
Cool vid but personally i don't agree with the statement that mouse is faster. On macbooks touchpads are very good and paired with gestures (not only default ones but also something like three finger scrolling) and fast or precise scrolling based on your needs at the moment it makes a faster experience overall. Scrolling both directions, zooming in, switching spaces (event if it's just research and IDE/word/main app and music app).
You're right it's very good for scrolling and gestures but I do quite a bit of video editing and without a mouse it would be a nightmare. This is irrelevant for most people for sure though.
@@bogxd on the other hand, you can bring your video editing to the next level by learning more keyboard shortcuts. Few years back I used to edit a lot and it was my obsession. I ended up barely touching mouse for most of the tasks.
Hey ! Awesome video ! Coming just to say that now Mac Mouse Fix does everything ! No needs to install the others app ;)
Hey! Oh that's great, thanks for watching
But how do you go directly to youtube via the command "yt" in the search bar? You say you can customize these, but I wonder how?
Still prefer trackpad due to its powerful gesture you can use
Why not logi options+ for that specific mouse? It does everything you said and more. Thanks for the tips
I do use it but just wanted to highlight more universal apps that would fit other mice too.
dude you have 3 apps for mouse features that you can enable and disable in logi options
At some point even Alfred was too slow for app switching so I installed Karabiner, made my Caps Lock a Hyper key and mapped letters of the keyboard to commonly used apps.
Now thats next level
Simple way to multitask on mac is with the overview button. Apple has to put this button beside the space bar !

make this type video for windows user ❤
whhaaat, to fix the problem with scrolling direction on mouse I forced myself to get used to the reversed scrolling on trackpad xxD but i never use trackpad anyway
Thanks for keeping it real
Ayee thanks for watching
where i can find this purple wallpaper?
You can use better touch tool as all in one app to do all these things.. i use it for inverse scrolling and configure keyboard shortcuts.. for mouse custom shortcuts i use logitech app but it can also be done with BTT
mos is a good app for mouse fix on mac
cool . now how can i do tem like that
You can also change the reverse mouse scroll in mouse settings if Mac itself - change the ‘natural’ setting
The problem will be now if you want to use the touchpad you will be adjuating your settings again and again. 😅
great
What is the wallpaper in the thumbnail?
why not just install logi options+ for all those mouse customizations in only one app? (if you have an mx mouse like yours)
Logitech M350 is also okay with macbook?
Can you share the script regarding the dock
What exact MacBook do you have?
Btw really neat videos!

Can’t decide between raycast and Alfred. Could you help me with that?
Sorry, I have used Raycast for like 10 minutes max so I can't really give you advice because I don't really know what it's like using it. But both of them are free so you can just test them out and see what works best for you.

Why don't you just use Logitech Options? You have the Logitech MX Master 3 if I'm not wrong. Also, do you know how to fix the luggy scrolling?
Somehow the back button doesn't work on Apple apps for me. I think that's what the mentioned program is for
I can’t find the mouse apps on the App Store, I think they may have removed them
Those are third party apps which means that you can't find them on the App Store, only through Googling

Definitely disagree with using mouse instead of using track pad. It depends on how long you use track pad, be careful, it can make you addict to Apple track pad
Why is this guide not mentionning vim?
Is this Alfred ad?

Love the content. The scrolling direction can be set in settings though (speaking for Magic Mouse). Also, the scrolling direction is perfectly fine and makes more sense than "it's not the way it should be"; more like "I'm used to this and can't adjust to something working differently". Please stop stating nonsense like this. I've been using Windows until 2020 and needed just a few days for adjusting, while others take longer or even less time to adjust. If people prefer it some specific way, there's a setting for it, but stating there's a way it should be is objectively wrong.
Edit: Don't take this the wrong way. I just really hate people stating stuff like that. There's no correct way. I'm in the process of installing Linux on my old Windows laptop and the different scrolling directions of my Mac and the laptop are a bit irritating, but I'll get used to it I think as I only need the laptop for games. But sadly haven't been successful about getting games like Ori and the Blind Forest to run on it. 😬
Thanks for watching
@@bogxd Thanks for your nice reply!
That's interesting. I hope they improve compatibility and settings on all of their devices. At least they say the next WWDC will be big. Let's hope! 😀
My experience with mice for Macs: I started out with a Mac mini M1 for which I used non-Apple peripherals. They just didn't want to work until I reinstalled macOS. I even tried it via cable. I don't have that issue with my MacBook now, but, hell, that was annoying.
The scrolling direction thing hurts the people most who use both windows & mac on daily basis. So, it's hard to adjust.
If you think about mechanics of scrolling on touchpad and mouse - it makes sense. Natural scrolling for the touchpad, because you are dragging the content with your finger. Standard scrolling for the mouse wheel, because you are dragging the content with your m.wheel (like with its bottom side, which rotates in the opposite direction)
Also mouse is a lot slower and productivity killer then Touchpad if you know how to use touchpad and gestures.
Hey Bog do you use stage manager ??
Hello, I occasionally toggle it on for a while but for some reason it hasn't been sticking for me (for now at least).
@@bogxd thanks bog
I love your channel
@@jk-fy8on Ayee thanks!
Good tips... but totally disagree on the mouse/trackpad point. You can adjust it to full speed in settings. That, along with the fact that you don't need to move your hand away from the laptop to use the mouse, and the crazy handy multi-finger gestures you can set up make it quicker than any mouse by a long shot and thus perfect for productivity. I often see this misconception from people that came over from windows laptops with plastic trackpads that flat out have no place in 2023... but the MacBook trackpads are truly in a league of their own.
The trackpads are really really good but I found that it's a lot faster and more precise to use a mouse for things like photo and video editing. Probably a skill issue for me then
Which mouse is this?
Pretty sure it's the logitech mx master

using the trackingpad is so much fast then using a mouse... if you are a developer. my hands are always on the keyboard... and it's a long way to the mouse. always use keyboards or the trackpad.
For that use case, yes. But for something like video editing, I found that using the trackpad is so inefficient.
i always use the mouse its soo much easier

Its for real stupid not to hide the dock ESPECIALLY on a 14 inch MacBook. My workflow is pretty similar to yours but i use alt tab with it you can select one of 2 safari windows for example although arguably it is way harder to find the window quick when you have a lot open. PS: you have to admit you made a wrong choice buying the 14 over the 16 inch xD
I've never tried the 16" model so I can't say but I'm enjoying the one I have rn
@@bogxd next time get the 16 and believe me you'll never go back ;)
@@benbork9835 tried the 16. just nope. too big and heavy and the fact that I travel to class a lot makes it evn more of a hassle. and in some class with small tables its basically unusable. returned and got the 14 and its so much mobile like an ipad. much more comfortable holding with one hand when trying to show someone something while standing and using it on the go (bus, car) was never possible with the 16. also can finally use a shoulder bag with this size and weight. never going back to 16
@@benbork9835 The 14" one is cheaper and more compact which is important for some people
Just upgrade to bigger screen and you will be enjoying of multitasking !!! buy 16"
Some people want a cheaper and more compact form factor, but the 16" has more screen real estate and longer battery life so it depends on the person. If he's OK with 14 inches, it's fine.
Cant agree on the importance of a mouse. With the trackpad I'm at 80% of my mouse speed and thats fast enough. There is no usecase where a mouse would make more sense, except for special apps or gaming. Ofc I'm talking only about apples trackpads. The trackpads of non apple products are all shitty, tried them all. There I would actually consider a mouse pretty quickly.
That mouse middle click is already there..

seems legit video till "get a mouse"..... I only use mouse when I dock my mac, 100% of the time on the go using the screen directly = no mouse

Mac os is great, you need 3 apps so you hve usable mouse.🤣 It's feature 🤣
Mac is simply just a nightmare for multitasking; even its users manage to have their own definition of "multitasking" and ask you not to do it. Multitasking on a computer isn't generally working on different projects at once, but rather, you gotta switch between multiple apps or windows to finish one project. And, to do that on a Mac is a nightmare.
That's why shifted to windows!
“Get a mouse”: no. We’re not on windows, learn how to use the trackpad. It’s just as precise and quick, and with some apps gestures can replace some of the keyboard shortcuts. If you’re editing video or audio, doing 2d graphics, or general computing, a trackpad is objectively better. If you’re working with 3d software, a mouse is needed.
A couple of apps to augment the trackpad: middle, to use three fingers as the middle click,
Swish to have a gesture controlled window manager.
Btw, the middle mouse button can be set as “click 3” (ie the standard middle mouse button) from settings, without the need of external apps.
Let's agree to disagree on this one.
Who the fuck is Alfred?
