  • The idea of these workouts is that they are super simple to follow, fun and interactive. Nobody wants to do a plank or pushups when they are unmotivated but if the exercises are structured in the right way then it all become a lot more digestible.
We arent here to break records, we just want to do fun little workouts which remind us of the importance of working out.

It sounds weird, but I like to prep my food while I bike… lol
I chill on my recumbent bike and I have one of those C shaped bed tables and I put it in front of me and I chop my veggies, do all my prep work for dinner and then go cook and relax and eat. It feels amazing to sit and eat after a bit of exercise.
It builds knife skills too, because you wanna finish faster. If you don’t have a ton to prep, just make the bike much harder resistance and pause between ingredients or bike while something passively cooks like rice or boiling pasta.

I only do that on occasion lately. I'm lazy and unmotivated so if I don't find a way to multitask or exercise in a fun way, I never do it.
I get most of my exercise from riding my Onewheel and stuff lately.
It was just an example for people like me who hate just exercising and need to find a way to make it feel less like a waste of time (because it isn't... it's important... it just feels that way.) and you can fit a basic workout into normal life..

I love this video, it's nice to get away from the usual exercises you see a lot of the "fitness-gurus" recommend. The only problem I have is that once again these exercises are not for overweight people, or they come from a perspective that don't quite grasp how that affects a person. A pull-up is not something I worry about doing 9 or 10 of, it's something I spent months just working towards being able to do.

    I don'twhy but I'll just share a story.
I've sadly stopped working out for quite some time now. (basically since Corona started). My main motivation, as shallow as it might have been, was a woman. She was my coworker (not close coworker. Almost no contact don't worry) and I fell for her basically the first time we met. We met through friends we made at work quite a few times, but considering that I was fat (260+lbs) and had no confidence I didn't even try to ask her out. BUT, through her I gained the motivation to work out. You see, she was pretty damn fit. Multiple marathons a year fit.
So I thought to myself "How about I try to run the half-marathon our workplace team takes part in (her as well) every year as well. If I can manage that I should have enough confidence to ask her out." and so, I got to work. I had about 11 month to get from a fat lazy bum to being marathon ready. Even if it were just BARELY. I went to our workplace gym and asked the trainer if my goal would be possible. And he told me it was, and he immediately set up my workout schedule.
Let me tell you, NEVER have I ever worked on anything as hard as this. After 9-10h of work I went to the gym for at least 2h 5 times a week. I was BUSTING my ass. And I loved every step of the way. Because I had a GOAL. As insignificant or shallow as it might have been. Goals are damn important. I never realized it until that point.
Sadly, the conclusion wasn't that... good. As far as I knew, she didn't have an SO. And my workout buddy had been her childhood friend. So, after about 10 months of busting my ass I asked him what he thought... well, they started dating about 4 weeks before I asked him. RIP a big chunk of my motivation. BUT I still didn't give up. I came so close, that I at least wanted to run the marathon... and then came the lockdown. The marathon was canceled, my work gym closed down for a while and then for good. There goes the rest of it.
Some other stuff happened as well, and now I'm sitting here. Back again to being a fat, lazy bum. Let this be a reminder to everyone. Don't hinge your motivation on something as fleeting as a woman. At least not the PROSPECT of dating her. Set some real, proper goals. Hell, set dating in GENERAL as your goal. But in that case don't be to specific.
I hope I'm able to find new motivation when I start uni in a few months. And this time NOT something as shallow.
Sorry for the venting. Just... kinda wanted to share. Like I said, I don't why.

Planking: I do it until my body just can't do it anymore. Listening to music helps! Especially heavy (to hype yourself up) slow ones where you can match your breathing along with the beat of the song!
Push ups: Having a handle really helps alot! I don't count how many I can do. I do 10, rest for 30 seconds, do 10 again, rest, etc, etc until my body gives up!
As for the rest, my body just can't do them yet. :(

STOP RELYING ON MOTIVATION AND GET SH** DONE! 90 Kg 1.85 Cm build 9 Kg in just 2 year's, yes i still have way to much fat on my body, but when i flex my muscle it's huge and im happy with my results, maybe one day i can eat less and cut my excess bodyfat. Eating less is a bigger problem for me then working out without motivation or energy.

It's been 5 hours. I still haven't been able to complete the 5 second plank. Help! how do I stop planking. My core is so sore!

    1. Curls - because big biceps is really all you want (if no #EZbar do chin-ups).
    2. Jogging - you can't really push past the lactic acid flushing point or you grind to a halt, so it's mostly leisurely. Take your dog.
    3. Press-ups - quite easy and good for chest and triceps, which go well with the biceps.
    4. Sit-ups - not very difficult and core strength is important.
    5. 2x20 rep squats - just kidding - you would puke, cry, and never train again!

I'm really pissed off at the form of those pull ups. (J/K) I train the PU with feet together, toes pointed out as in the hollow body position. It forces you to engage the abs much more.
Love the vids. Greetings from San Diego in California.
    ✌,
    Luis
