- Check out my review of the new Netflix series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story!
Centered on Queen Charlotte's rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen's marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the ‘Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
Man!!!!!!! I didn't know Queen Charlotte was available now, so I'll start watching tomorrow. *This review was PHENOMENAL!!!!!* You have the greatest style, and I thank you for that. 🤗🤣
🎶 before I let go 🎵
I loved it ❤❤😢😢😢 I want at least 3 more seasons
@Vashti Perry I just finished it!!!!! Got me in here crying uncontrollably at the end. It was so beautiful! Tait's review was EVERYTHING! Totally on point, and didn't spoil it at all for me. Wow. What an awesome show. I need way more seasons! 🤗
Queen Charlotte understood the assignment which was "for better for worse"
That part!
@Tait's Take that's her man, and she's gonna stick beside him.
@@LadeOla “dasss mine!”
A reminder that not all love stories have a fairytale ending. And that don’t make it any less of a love story. - TAIT’s Take- That was GOLD!❤❤❤
Heyyyy thank you!!
Actually to me their is a poetic fairytale ending. They stayed together for 60 years and loved each other deeply and made sacrifices and faced loneliness and obstacles just in order to steal as much life together as possible to a cruel destiny ❤❤❤
It is a fairytale ending. Heartbreakingly beautiful. Sad and happy at the utmost contemporary.
@@santangelogaia19 what you said right here‼️💞
The scene that had me sobbing was the elder Brimsley dancing by himself. What a love story there!
My allergies were in full effect when it cut to Brimsley dancing alone 😭
Mental Illness is a weight at any age even now. The scenes where George is lost where so painful to watch. Excellent review.
This is by far the best Bridgerton series so far. I absolutely love Lady Danbury, and it was a treat to learn her story as well. The last episode had me practically bawling 😭 Fantastic review as usual.
I never expected it to be that good! Good review!
They navigated the playfulness and seriousness so well. And I was so happy to see Violet and Agatha as their young selves.
Violet is a GEM
Little Violet was so cute! I loved her.
I literally just finished watching it and I’m crying so much! Their love story is so bitter sweet and so well balanced. The writing was honestly phenomenal and one of the best I’ve ever seen. The romance, tragedy, and social structures were balanced so well.
That was amaziny
I actually can most definitely see the connection from young Charlotte to queen charlotte. Think about it, her kids told her you were never our mother but our queen. Even Brimsley stated this in the serious; “you are still his queen, forever trapped”. She was always devoted to her king first and with that it tore away at the person she once was, always waiting for her person to come back to her.
Totally agree! I think you saw her devotion to the king took precedent over everything and eventually led her to shutting things out.
I never knew I needed Tait’s take in my life before LIB S4 and now I can’t go without it
This comment made my month.
Queen Charlotte 💯 better than the two seasons, it was spectacular and the talent meter in this series was off the chart
I loved every seconds of Queen Charlotte and I did cried at the end. Good review!!
Same 😭😭😭😭❤️
I was balling tears at the end and through it all.
That. Ending. Tho.
After season 2 I wasn't going to watch anymore of Bridgerton but watched Queen Charlotte today and fell in love with it. The young cast was so good and it was great to see the Bridgerton cast in it. It's a show I will watch again.
Same!!!
The biggest take away for me, was that Queen Charlotte (young and old) was a straight up savage 😂.
The woman could take your soul with her tongue 😂😂😂😂
But that was the best story of the series so far. It was so beautifully done😊😊
Yess "Sorrows,sorrows,prayers,prayers"...
Queen charlotte was a mixed race queen in England. Like you said and the part in the show where the queen wants to make her skin lighter it’s something that was done to a lot people of color in Latin America history I learned this one of the presidents in Latin American was a black/darker skinned man and his portrait was taken to France to lighten his skin after his death
But this show was amazing I am going to watch it again it felt complete tbh
Word. They even did it with photographs! Take the case of the - arguably - most acclaimed of all Brazilian writers, Machado de Assis: almost all of his photos were meticulously bleached, back in the 19th century/early 20th. We only found out a few years ago, when they unearthed some unadulterated photos of him, which show evidently dark skin, indicating that he was, at the very least, mixed race (and he also had distinctively African facial features). So, yeah. Before the "age of communication", the powers that be did everything they could to prevent powerful and brilliant people to be perceived by posterity as people of color.
Maaaan. I 'watched' it at work, and when I tell you that it made me cry at my DESK. That last episode.......man. I saw so much in Charlotte/George in me and my boyfriend. He suffers from depression and doesn't handle obstacles well. I find myself having to put myself into caretaker mode, take my time with him, walk him back from the ledge, hold his hand, tell him to focus on me. This story broke my heart, lol.
Sorrows .. sorrows, prayers prayers 😢
Episode 6 had me crying till i got a headache 😅. Fyi no one dies, it was just that beautiful
The King was more interested in horticulture and spent a great deal of time growing produce and actually working in the field. He was a loyal, devoted husband and religious. He hated slavery and brought pressure to bear on politicians to get rid of it. He wrote a long thesis attacking slavery and he signed a proclamation ending the Atlantic slave trade. He wasn’t a monster that the founding fathers wanted us to believe. Lord North was the Prime mInister and was directing the war and making policy.
For real??
@@seeker995 Yes Maam he also never married off his daughters because he wanted to remain close with them ,that is why they never had any kids ,the sons were as potrayed in the show
This is such a good show. The young and older Charlotte and Violet are my favorite characters. I cried after the last scene of episode 6.
I am surprised people didn't like season 2 I loved it. It was a nice slow burn. But Queen Charlotte was an unexpected joy.
I likeddddd it. Just not as much as Season 1
I think I liked season 2 more than season 1 because of Kanthony. Their chemistry was so amazing. I didn’t really love Daphne n Simon. Plus their “hold it in” storyline was creepy to me between them. But now… QC & KG for chemistry and storyline win. ❤
@@safirestudio it was better lol that’s actually the popular take amongst critics
Shonda Rhymes is really talented in her field . She is a Treasure in her industry.
Really is.
My favorite of all the Queen Charlotte reviews. It was very engaging, funny and informative. I agreed with his points of view on everything.
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate it!
Perfect review and love the fun facts about King George at the end! Queen Charlotte was definitely giving seasoned chicken in those pics too! Loved this season, loved the backstories, and if my brother ever sent me off to be married to a King with limited explanation, I’d very likely have the same sentiment. We beefin for a MINUTE!
I stayed up waiting for it to load. And when I tell you and sent my kids off to school crying. They thought I was sick lol. It was soooo good. Why was it soooo good. Poor Brimsley. 😩
This was a great review. Really enjoyed it, and I agree with you that this was 5 stars - 10/10 no notes
young QC and Lady Danbury are gorgeous and the actresses did an amazing job. thanks for the review and love that you loved it as much as i did!
They were the best like newcomer 1-2 punch I’ve seen in awhile!
It was definitely the best one production in the Bridgeton universe. I never thought I would be researching king George after your review but here I am Google. Sounds like a great dude. Great review too.
Yessss! Now I feel like my mission is complete hearing that you went down the King George rabbit hole!
No really queen Charlotte is it honestly the storyline and serie is bittersweet it ain't just roses. The story wasn't ever corny to me and when the lines were cheesy I didn't mind because it was balanced out by their many misfortunes that I felt like they needed to be allowed that too and everyone acted well.
Everyone came to work!!
Yooo I was balling tears at the end for sure 😂😂😂😂
That shit caught me slippin I can’t front.
Your synopsis was great. I was having a hard time hating any character, except for Violet's mother. I absolutely balled at the end. Brimsley was too adorable. Reynolds made me want to smack him sometimes, but I totally understood why he did (or didn't do) what he did (or didn't do). The entire season was on point. I loved it.
As far as the Bridgerton show itself is concerned, I love them because I've read all the Bridgerton books, including the prequels with the original Bridgerton family that eventually gave birth to Edmund Bridgerton (Violet's husband). That series was shorter but just as awesome. It's no wonder Eloise is who she is, with ancestors like she had. Lol
I cried like a baby and my husband walked in. I sniffled, "you have to watch it baby 😭."
Everything you said was SPOT ON! Best show in the Bridgerton universe . And episode 6 phew I completely agree, best episode in Netflix history! This show really had no business being this good. I cried too much, Shonda will pay for this 😭😂 I’m so relieved other ppl feel this way because my friend watched it and said it was just okay and I was wondering if we watched the same show
I cried all through this entire series. I couldn't handle it.
Giiiirl , I was ugly crying !!!!
i have never seen a single episode of bridgerton but i watched queen charlotte because of your video and i have not cried that hard in a reallyyyy long time holy hell i thought you were exaggerating but it was so so good😭😭
It’s the entertainment with a sprinkle of education for me ❤
We be sprinkling out here!
King George III never owned slaves and he was anti-slavery. The patriots back in the day were just like those patriots who stormed the Capital on Jan 6. They smeared him and ruined his reputation.
I finished the series last night and stumbled across this video trying to see of others loved it as much as I did. I've found a comfort in your spoil-less review. So I will subscribe and watch more! Thanks
So nice to read! Thank you so much!
I didn't watch Bridgerton, but i decided to watch this. I really loved this. Your review did sway me to go back and watch the original show.
I just watched this ....i loved it...touched my heart....love can come in all hues.... woman's strength portrayed at its best❤
Agreed!
I loved Bridgeton!! Had to check out your Take on Queen Charlotte haven’t watched it yet! Netflix needs to sponsor you for your entertaining reviews! 💰💰Frankie Beverly! 😂😂Gotta put this one on my Q!! 😂
Haha tell Netflix holla at me!!! (Love that Q talk track!)
Love your unorthodox style of reviewing the show. It is a well organized, thoughtful discussion that is witty, insightful and well researched. Thank You.
That last scene got to me 😢… great show 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
loved this series & your review... love from black Germany ( home of Charlotte)🇩🇪👍🏽🖤❤️
Loved it. My favorite Bridgerton story so far!
Indeed the best Bridgerton series by @Shondaland to date! You’re the absolute best with reviews, I’m so glad I discovered your channel.
Natural hair all over TV. Yes🎉love our hair, love 💕 love our skin.
This is Definitely one of the best things I’ve seen. Not only that but I’ve watched your review twice which I never do. It was a really great review. Just wanted to tell you how much I loved your thoughts.
You really need more subscribers!! Love your channel
Haha slow and steady! Thank you very much tho! If you share the video that’ll get me one step closer :)
I wasn't going to watch it but I didn't have anything to watch last weekend. I couldn't stop watching it. It was AMAZING!!!!
Man I was ready to binge the series only so I can watch this review 😂😂😂 Glad it's spoiler free, I can take my time!
I hate that at the end when you were talking about the real queen (and I was pouring milk over my cereal) I dropped the box to holler “whoaoaaaahhhh”
Because if she did not respond to Frankie Beverly and Maze then we know her chicken only had salt and boiled water for flavor! 😂
Lmao im so late on this but I’m very glad I found this comment!
The story was so complete and well done. The only reason I would want a season 2 is because I need to see the connection between part and future Queen Charlotte
surprisingly, it is my favorite in the whole bridgerton series. At first few episodes i was questioning the whole thing, but then it kinda makes sense at the end.
😂😂😂 @ The before I let go litmus test..it's always a tell...if you don't look around to see what side we facing to kick-off what we bout to kick-off(I will not disclose to protect the tradition) then you likely have no wakandan ancestory🙅🏾♀️ lol...but great review! It was spot on and informative👌🏾
Haha ok this comment caught me slippin. Thanks for stopping by!!
Np! I'll be back! Ya got yourself a new subbie. Glad i found this page😊
I wept. Loved this show way more than I expected. I don't know if I put it over Bridgeton s1 but def beat s2 for me. hope you do a full review
It’s a nice matchup with season 1 but I got this one on top
This review was on point. Wonderful job bringing in history, culture, society, love, etc. Great job, Sir!
I just finished watching and why am I sobbing 😢😢😢😢. You are right this was AMAZING 👏🏾
Tom Verica helped produce this too? Mr. Sam Keating Analise husband that is so cool😊
Great review! And great history lesson too : )
I’m here for the people 👩🏫
I couldn’t agree with you more! Didn’t think I needed this as much as I did!
Thank you so such a wonderful analysis and commentary ❤😊 I loved Queen Charlotte and yes, did cry on episode 6
New subbie. Excellent review. I loved QC- watched it several times. Your insight on KG3 was really helpful and you are so entertaining. Thanks for the review.
👏👏👏👏 Great review! I love your reviews very much but this one was the top one!
Queen Charlotte was so good! Definitely better than season 2. But Tait. Don’t 👏🏾 sleep 👏🏾 on 👏🏾 Penelope 👏🏾 and 👏🏾 Colin 😂 I know you don’t read the books but they got the best story out of everyone! I’m so excited for season 3!
Listen. I ain’t taking this comment lightly. Now I’m expecting some heat! 😂
Episode 6 made me cry, yes it did.
Loved Queen Charlotte And I loved your review. My allergies were acting up in episode six too.
okay now you HAVE to make a spoiler review, i wanna know exactly how you felt about every moment!
Hooked on your reviews from here out!! The realest! Lol
This is what I like to hear!
Again... you were right on point with your commentary. I was reaching for my tissue box at the end of that last episode. What a love story. If only we had more love stories like this one. Shonda is a very talented. Sheesh ---- I can't even write two complete sentences in my diary. So can I recommend a tv show or movie for your review?
Let’s hear it!
@@TaitsTake An oldie but goodie for me is Sicario. Love to hear your take on this movie. The 2nd one wasn't as good as the first one.
Great review as always. For me, it’s easy to see how QUEEN CHARLOTTE went from who she was in this to who she is in Bridgerton. Having to dedicate her entire existence to the crown while protecting the king probably really affected her for the worst.
Sidenote, I’m pretty sure I saw you today on 125th street.
Great review!! You make me laugh all the time. I really wanted to know what happened to Reynolds though.
1- smashes subscribe button.
2- i binged the entire series just to get to your spoiler free review.
3- when’s the spoiler filled review coming out ?!
1. YOU DUH BEST!
2. Ok she got after it!!
3. 👀👀👀
Highly enjoyed the series and I usually don’t like stuff like this but my mom told me to watch.
I’m amazed you haven’t watched scandal. I wanna rewatch it a 4th time
I didn't think they'd beat Kanthony and Sapne but here we are!!
Now I'd like a review with the spoilers. I want to know what you REALLY think of the show 😂. It was a great show.
I agree! QC is the best out of the Bridgerton series! Shonda Rhimes TV in its finest form! Getting ready to watch it again 😂❤😊
I was definitely a bit skeptical when I learned about this spinoff. I mean spinoffs in general are kinda hit or miss. But damn this was so good! I haven't watched episode 6 yet, so I'll get those tissues ready.
Loved your review right on point.
Thanks, Jennifer!!
This video made me look at the tv show. And it's so sad. I love it. I'm so glad I watched your video.
Great review! Definitely looking forward to watching this series.
You know I need you to report back, cuz!
@@TaitsTake It was brilliant! Loved the representation, acting, writing and more. Shondaland did it again.
@@simoneboxhill6349 so fire! Young Charlotte is so epic
Queen Charolette reigns supreme, def the best Bridgerton. Had me crying all weekend!
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Taittttttt I just cantttt whahahahahahahahahaha pleaseeee that was the bestt review OMG hahahahahahahahaha hahahahahaha when you said it rhymes with shapedddd noooooo whahahahahahah and talked about lord and Lady Danbury, and also you know when you said shonda got you using big wordss like nuanced 🤣 hahahahahahaha best review ever. Can you please tell me whats next? So i can go watch it tooo? 😂😂😂😂
Lmao this is such a wild comment but I read it like 5 times 🤭 thank you so much for this! Next up is Jewish Matchmaking! ✡️
Hey Chrisssss!!!!
I've missed your intros😅😅😅
I really love your reviews❤
Haha the intros are back! Don’t ask how many takes either 😬
Lol the first 35 seconds of this video was exactly how I felt about this series. I was not going to watch it but I’m glad I did.
Lmao it’s good to feel seen!
This was a phenomenal storyline !!! It really had me ugly crying , lol !!!!
Same ❤️😭
Thank you for great rewiev as always AND you even prepared a history lesson for us ❤ such dedication
I’m out here just tryna educate the people a little bit lol
i tried watching bridgerton but i tired it off after a couple mins. queen charlotte had me hooked i just finished it. it was great
I didn't expect this show to be that good when I went into it, but it convinced me to binge watch after the first episode. The first episode was enjoyable, it didn't even feel like an hour.
I loved this show 6:24 same I never explored Shondaland before Bridgerton
8:56 I want them to explore her transformation ❤❤ in another season
I love this show so much, I've watched it 3x.
King George had a few ships named after him during the colonial era. A few traveled from west Africa to America. One ship was lost in Barbados along with 280 pieces of cargo. What do you think that cargo was?
I tried not to tear up or cry but damn i just couldnt help it
Binged it and loved every moment...Brimsley...ah yeah
Thanks, I will give it another chance. Watched #1. 👍👍
Love young Violet ❤❤and her dad
A true queen!!!!
This was also the first Shonda rhymes show I’ve seen.! 👀👀
We need a support group!
I find it interesting that everyone is like: Oh Queen Charlotte wasn´t black, so it´s not accurate represantation. Meanwhile no one is complaining about the fact that she was german, still she´s played by a british woman with no german accent at all😅
❤❤❤❤ 15:05 right they get period dramas historically wrong all the time.
Will you watch Chevalier?
LOVED CHEVALIER! So sad no one went to watch it 😔
