It’s really refreshing to see someone who is an experienced gym goer still being new at something. Like there’s nothing wrong with being unsure of what to do but it can feel so intimidating as a newbie/first timer. I would be a nervous wreck. Congrats Patty!!

Love the way you have fun while competing in something new. Any competition is usually stressful but you looked like a Pro!
The spotters pulling the bar off you and racking it whilst you were still in motion was crazy to me, glad you got to try again.
Camera is a bit jank but looked like the bar dipped ever so slightly at the sticking point. Hard to say if you weren't there.
You're awesome the one thing I noticed is that everyone had a VERY serious look on their face...I mean EVERYONE, especially the ladies in the crowd. You kept your huge smile and that's very hard to do and I commend you for that.
Confused Patty walking back and forth after racking the weight is probably the cutest thing I've seen all year.

😂 love the general awkwardness and congratulations. I like doing powerlifting but i don’t do competitions and as an introvert i can only imagine the horror of not knowing the verbal cues right before the lifts.
as an introverted awkward powerlifter who competes, its all about practicing them in the gym (or home gym) with someone before hand. engraining it into your brain and then it's second nature in competition. also every comp ive ever done everyone is super nice and welcoming (they look mean cuz we're all just super focused) but everyones supportive.

La verdad me sorprendió ver el título y el tipo de contenido de esta ocasión, no te seguía pero ver el título me hizo entrar enseguida al video jajajaja, escribo en español porque mi inglés aún no es muy bueno y prefiero no usar traductor jasdjasjd, pero es impresionante ver lo que lograste y saber que con más tiempo de entreno puedes lograr llegar más lejos en powerlifting, es enserio muy motivante para personas como yo que apenas me estoy iniciando en todo esto, a mi me interesa mucho esta disciplina y recién llevo en el gym 1 mes, para tratar de construir una buena base mientras trabajo mi técnica y fuerza para los 3 básicos, ojalá poder seguir tu progreso en este deporte y desde hoy suscrito jaja

Literally I felt so good to see you winning the competition patty.80 kg bench,127.5kg squat and 142.5kg deadlift that is impressive as fuck I mean when it was my first powerlifting meet none of the females were even close to this and their lifts were even equipped. Mam ur just so strong. After watching this I am motivated asf. In a few days I am also going to compete and I hope I will win it bc Patricia mam ur my one and only inspiration and I started lifting weights just bc of u. I don't think u remember but about an year ago I told u that I am going to the gym for the first time and ur the only one who inspired me to do that. She really is super strong for her weight. She definitely outlifts me pound for pound by a mile and Im just judging her weight by optics. If Im anywhere close to accurate she would be considered an elite powerlifter and not at the bottom end of the elite spectrum either.

Great to see you out there pushing your boundaries. People probably don't understand how hard it can be. I haven't left the house 'voluntarily' since last summer and I am working my way up to stepping out that front door again (I like to hike/cycle). I work from home, and only go out once a week to do my shopping, and it is eyes down, don't speak, shaking hands, and then tears of relief when I get back home (and wine, lots of wine).

I have been doing strength training for 2 months, yyeeeee boi. And am going to enter my first power lifting event in November. Watching your content has helped me get out of the house and try new things (thanks adhd/asd). Loved this video, I feel I would be super confused on what to do/where/when to go.

I Would love to see another one like this! It did seem like you could add a few pounds on SQ and DL, and now that you're more used to it (commands and whatnot) it would be less stressful. Besides, having plenty of carbs instead of fasting would most certainly help as well.
I love how you kept such a good attitude throughout! I know that if I got the bar taken from me too early on my third bench attempt and then someone gave me a hard time before attempting a fourth attempt I would have definitely been spiraled a bit ;-; that mental fortitude is top notch!!

Liked the video and love your efforts. Since you asked for more, I'm 68, 5'4", male. I was once built rather well at 160 lbs., but now 235 (this morning), not so much. I'm attempting to "get back into it" and you are a great source of inspiration so, thank you again, for your efforts. I'm hoping to do better starting in April so, like tomorrow! I know the "how". But the "do" is somewhat of a challenge.

Ah, this takes me back! I used to do competitions in my late teens and early twenties. Both the good (the fun of lifting all that weight, having a supportive crew watching) and the bad (confusion with some of the judges, the contests last FOREVER). Great job!
