I worked at Travelscene in 1987 in St Anns Road and I used to go to the Royal Oak at lunchtime and after work! Does anyone remember Starburger and Spud-u-Like? I saw Grease at the cinema on the left on the way down to Wealdstone as well. I think it's an Indian cinema now.
@@sonnyuk100 The model shop, yes of course! I used to buy my shirts in Burtons haha. Also remember a few crazy nights in Tudors on the bridge down to Wealdstone. It's all changed now though hasn't it? I live in South London now. I do miss Harrow, especially from those days and playing the tiny 9 hole golf course at Northwick Park. Haha.
A great vid. The Titan on the 186 was the highlight for me, a bus i have worked on at Barking Garage in 1984.....What on earth it was doing working off Edgware in 1982 amazes me!
Wow, I’m surprised the titans went to North West London in Harrow, I know some of the Titan did run in North West London, but not that area of North West London, I’m glad they went to North West London , I love my Titan buses since I was baby in the mid 80’s, born and live in East London, Walthamstow and Leyton, got my own flat in Custom House, thanks for uploading, I was imaging the Titan bus going to those areas in the 80’s and they did go, which is good and excited my baby titans went around that area of London, 😃😃
Yes they only had six months left and with it the route was cut back from Mill Hill Broadway station to now Harrow Weald and that section is now the 114.Its a shame they wern't featured more in the video.
There's ample stuff in RMs. I actually appreciate this one focused on the new models at the time. EDIT: I reread my own comment and while generally I stand by it, I agree regards seeing more of the RM on this particular route as it's historic.
I remember when there were RMs on 140 i was about 5 yrs old. Remember when Harrow Bus stn was just built and replaced the two bus stops on college Road. Please change the music this is 1982 not 1955.

A harrowing document of times long passed.
This is how I like to remember Harrow. Grew up there in the early 80s and left almost 20 years ago. The place is unrecognisable in so many ways.
Yet Epping seems to have kept it's character.
No only difference is the white people
It literally looks the same
@@Sin-gv9tu- Don’t be silly. You know exactly what she means
@@embisonjones4996 but it literally does look the same, other than some sky scrapers, it's the same😂😂
It’s an Asian town now, I left in 2014, I was 13 when this was filmed, different time long gone.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, a trip down memory lane, often caught a bus from here.
Thanks for the upload. Utterly fascinating footage. The early 80s was the absolute peak period in history.
I-
Nothing to do with it coinciding with being your formative years I guess?
@@ok2760 No doubt.
@@ok2760 More likely the point that Harrow is an absolute shitehole now and wasn't then.
@@davecoalwood9487 why is it an absolute shithole now please Dave

I booked a holiday in travel scene when I was 18 summer 1987, I had long rocker hair, they permed it in Kevin Michaels.
@@eightiesboyloved The Model Shop. Popping in their after last lesson at Gayton High School.
Wow it’s a dump now.
How?? Lot of East European Untermensh ??
Absolute shite hole now. Not the same, whenever i get off it feels like i need a visa to get into India. Ruined

0:40 yes!!!!! 186 bus!!!! Take me home to the second stop on Locket Road.
I miss my childhood so much 😞
I lived off Locket Road 1983 - 2010 and also got off at that very stop on my way home from work for all those years!
Wow what a different sight. If you go now it looks like you got of in mumbai awful place
Correct, that’s exactly what it feels like
Video is good but the music is naff
I didnt know they had electric doors back then
I always get on that station
Nice music

I moved to Harrow 1983 - 2010 and had no idea RMs were used there so it seems so odd to see one at the bus station
I moved to harrow in 1991
I bet it had changed a lot by then, even after only 9 years.
A year before 140 lost its routemasters
286 went to Edgware?
Y god I used to get the h17 back in the 1990's from that exact spot..

I like it. It suits it.
My area! Was 4 years old then! 😙😂
Born 1978 cool.
Fun fact 140 was in the 1980s and was on hermitage on 2019
