"Rich, rewarding, and highly replayable, Hitman 3 is a superb instalment of IO's idiosyncratic but much-loved stealth series. The fundamentals haven't changed since 2016 but its collection of outstanding maps makes for a refined, reliable, and robust curtain-closer to the current Hitman trilogy. Six maps may sound slimbut each one is huge and designed to be played several times over - and even then it's very unlikely you'll have uncovered all of its creative and surprising assassination opportunities. There really isn't a weak one in the bunch. The barcoded butcher has made a lot of appearances over the past 20 years, but Hitman 3 is definitely one of his best." - Ігри

A 22 year old franchise. Rich is style, story and originality. One of the most legendary series and character of all time.
The story is meh, but style and originality is a plus.

I adore these games. There are far too many shooter games that encourage confrontational approaches whereas this game forces you to take the stealth route. I adore the gameplay and the story. There is so much to do and explore
I'm excited to see what thee guys do with the James Bond franchise. Gameplay is excellent but could use a stronger story.

I’m so grateful for this game franchise
As someone who has played every hitman to date it's incredibly satisfying to see how refined and perfected the game has come over the years while maintaining the little quirks that we know and love.

In all serious it wasn't that bad it was just too linear to be a proper hitman game and a major departure from Blood Money

That entire movie is solid gold.
FYI: that scene from mission impossible although was in Paris in the movie, it was shot on Abu dhabi, UAE in real life, which makes both the movie and the game have the same kind of jump in the UAE

This is exactly what I was hoping for. IOI has managed to do that rare thing where the formula is ideal. I'm glad they've kept it and the only update is bigger better levels and more diverse oportunities.

At first only having 3 mission stories per stage made it seem like it was much more limited, but honestly it just made those mission stories seem so much more focused than before.
@Don Lobo yes! i.e. both lawyer missions. those are straight up story missions that you are left completely up to your own devices from context clues in dialogue you overhear and reading challenges. Fantastic design.
IO are just nailing it at the moment! They’re like a band that keeps releasing awesome album after awesome album, and every time you listen to it you find something else you love! ❤️

the data center footage is Chongquing and not the actual final location, based off the targets list and other footage shown (2:40)
dont worry they didnt spoil anything with that shot. Its an impressive moment (the final mission) at first but i dont see that level being very replayable. Reminded me of absolution. Not very replayable.
@@MadIvano there’s one complex and very satisfying kill in that level. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but it is easily in top 5 of best kills in the whole series

Every Hitman games have always been worth the money. Its a series with an incredible amount of replay value. More than most games

Hitman 3 is the final game in the World of Assassination trilogy and it ends perfectly.
If you own Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 and now with Hitman 3, you should have the ultimate sandbox Hitman experience

IO Interactive is a surprising studio. They have incredibly high operating costs due to their location and work culture (food, parties, work benefits), but it doesn't let them get to their heads.
I'm still unsure as to whether they can make another game outside of the Hitman franchise as creating another AAA IP is always risky, but I wish for the studio's continued success.
They also made the graphic engine from thr beginning

STYX MASTER OF SHADOWS and STYX SHARDS OF DARKNESS are excellent stealth games that few people know about.

I mean if it does that'd be a dud forward IO. ReSkinning everything to 007 theme won't make the cut. They should take the opportunity to make much more polished and intuitive gameplay and story. If not it's just gonna fall into the low tier AAA games that hitman is still in.
I love this franchise.. And this is one of the best installments in it for sure.
I think it has 5 maps and not 6. The last one is even shorter than hawke bay in hitman 2.

The Hitman series is one of my favourite game series of all time! Hitman and Hitman 2 are amazing. Can’t wait to play with Hitman 3!
Not a fan of how this game is so heavily focused on story because it really hurts the level design for me, but overall this series (and specifically the World Of Assassination trilogy) is still absolutely amazing. Hitman 2016 was an excellent stealth game, Hitman 2 perfected everything from that game and added more great levels, and this game added a few great new maps and some even more stunning graphics. Thanks fro making such a great series, IOI.
9/10 this game makes you feel like Hitman 3.

That berlin nightclub level was pure masterpiece the audio the objective..its the most immersed ive been in a video game ever.

Played *EVERY* game in the series. I can say for sure- this trilogy are my favorite games.
IO Interactive should give us players a map creator. Imagine the number of custom levels, not to mention remakes of the levels in older Hitman titles.

Not for me. Was always more fiddliness than I was interested, I felt - I prefer the streamlined focus of straightforward inventory. I hear you though.

The best part about the release of Hitman 3, is that IOI can really start to focus their time and efforts on the upcoming James Bond game.

Help me out. How come we able to play maps (challanges/new targets etc) we didnt buy in Hitman 3? Did the game already download all the maps when it was downloading hitman 3? And when we buy a map separtely, the game still has to download the map? Sorry for my english.

Finally a reviewer that understands what are the spoilers in hitman and doesnt show them. Especially I appreciate that he didnt show special kills in the levels.

@Our Eye You might as well just get hitman 3, it has all 3 games in it (you still have to purchase the first 2 to access their content within Hitman 3, but for the first 10 days they will be discounted on Epic, and hitman 1 and 2 will be discounted really frequently if not permanently after 3 launches).
Never played Hitman before, this will be my first!
You should play Hitman 1 and 2 first. The story matters, and you can redeem the levels for the previous games in the new one if you own it.

Wait...wait, is this a real game review by IGN?! I truly believed the IGN staff had long forgotten how to review a game properly. This review was well thought out and executed. If this is the way things will be done moving forward...I think I might be coming back into the fold.
At any rate, my birthday is coming fast and we have already started with the festivities. Generally, we (fiancee and I) get two to four games for our respective birthdays (she's a diehard gamer as well) and I just got the Demon Souls Remake last weekend. Hitman 3 looks to be an excellent second choice for my birthday. As we love to game side-by-side every night after work I will be picking this up for our Series X. That way they both get played at once an we have a great time equally. Great review man, you seriously have me hyped for this!
As a trilogy these games are an easy 10/10 for me. The level design alone is on a level I just don’t see in other games. I find it odd that games that are more similar to films get so much recognition while really outwardly “video gamey” games often don’t get the same love.

Then you should definitely play STYX MASTER OF SHADOWS and STYX SHARDS OF DARKNESS as both are excellent stealth games.
One of my most favorite series as a teenager.
Graphics look amazing. I think its safe to say this is the best looking game out on next gen consoles right now. They did a really great job with the reflections. This game almost looks like it has raytracing and running at 4k/60 on next gen to boot. Great job.

So the opening level combines “mission impossible: fallout’s” atmos jump with “mission impossible: ghost protocols” Dubai skyscraper climb. While another level recreates the nightclub from “John Wick”. This leads me to believe the other levels are grabbed from other current action films.
They're just cool settings, but you could probably stretch China's level as John wick 3's opening New York rain sequence
